RE: The NBA Thread
Last night before going to sleep, saw the score of the Clippers/Rockets game towards the end of the 3rd quarter at 89-70 and thought that it's over, the Clips are going in their first conference finals. This morning upon waking up, looked at the score and couldn't believe my eyes. Rockets had won. Not only did they win but convincingly at that!

Just finished watching the 4th quarter of this game now and man, the way the Rockets turned it around, you could feel it from the beginning of the 4th quarter that something was up. That the momentum was shifting heavily. Easy buckets that the Clips made with their eyes closed didn't go in. Mid range shots that CP3 puts in even in his sleep bounced out, easy lay ups were missed. The Rockets, all of a sudden, as if possessed, were defending superbly and started to rain 3's by Josh Smith!

The way the Clips lost, this is going to have a major impact, mentally and psychologically. Looking at the body language and facial expression of the Clipper players, they looked totally devastated mentally. Letting such a crucial game go, while you had it almost wrapped up, is going to have some repercussions for the Clips. Unless a miracle happens, Rockets are going to have a field day at home in Game 7. From the looks of it, last night, the Clips didn't just lose Game 6, but also the Series.

As for the Rockets, why can't they play with the same intensity as they did in the 4th quarter last night the whole games? IF they did, they'd be unstoppable! They inconsistency must be really frustrating for their fans.

Kai, as our resident Rocket expert in here, why are the Rockets so inconsistent and playing in such a yoyo manner? They may get away with it against the Clips, but they'd get torched by the Warrios if they were to continue playing that way.

All I know is GSW is laughing right now at all the remaining teams left in the field.

Rox are inconsistent as hell and I think GSW will win easily against them.
Clippers are good but have no bench or depth.
They should beat Memphis being up 3-2.

Hawks have lost the magic that made them great during the regular season.
The Wiz are a joke team compared to the GSW.
The Cavs are playing with no Love and an injured Irving.

Curry will probably end up winning a title before KD, CP, Westbrook, and Rose etc. Who would have imagined that 2 years ago?

I may have been twice wrong yesterday, but I'm still backing the Grizzlies tonight with Tony Allen back.

Looking forward to a crazy game with some tenacious D and clutch shots - and hopefully some fighting/hard fouls where they let them play on. Probably too much to ask for?

With Tony Allen playing I think GSW might have an easier time.

The Warriors have figured out what the Spurs figured out in 2013. In the playoffs it's hard to play 4 on 5 on offense and Allen can't do anything outside of the paint, his man basically doubles Zbo/Gasol in the paint. I am surprised it actually took the Warriors 3 games to figure that out.

How is this happening? Did the Clippers hit a wall with fatigue?

I don't want to hear people talk about "best playoffs ever" anymore. The buzzer beaters mask the fact we are "treated" to Rockets and Hawk who have been underperforming and have no business being in their conference finals. Because the NBA can't seed teams right we had the best series of the playoffs almost a month ago it seems in Clips vs Spurs, nothing else will come close. The Cavs injured and only having spurts of greatness will roll into the finals where they could get swept or loose in a quick 5 games.

Washington and Clippers were both the better teams but both choked like dogs.

Clippers vs GS would of been an amazing, both teams have a real history of going at it, why are we denied seeing this.

The seeding is based on their wins and losses... sounds pretty fair to me.

Washington was not a better team than Atlanta. Atlanta played like crap and still won the series against them, imagine if they brought their A game.

Can't agree with this.

If they were the better teams, they would have survived and advanced.

You can't make the claim that the two teams who lost four out of six and four out of seven as the Wizards and Clippers did respectively, were the better teams.

That's usually an opinion one derives from looking at the rosters, but basketball isn't a game that's played on paper -- one time for the analytics out there.

I'm glad the Clippers lost because I'm over the CP3, Blake, Doc dickriding, and their fans have become unbearable assholes because now they have a winning team and a respectable owner.

They dropped three games in a row when they only needed one win, with a fully healthy roster and supposedly one of the best coaches in the game -- one who is the only coach in league history to blow multiple 3-1 playoff leads -- so they don't deserve to be in the Conference Finals.

Neither do the Wizards; the Hawks didn't play their best basketball, but John Wall is overrated, he got outplayed by Teague, who makes half the money he does, and his jumper is still broke. If I played him one-on-one, I'd make him shoot jumpers all day, since he'd have no advantage on me height-wise, he's an outstanding athlete, but the athleticism is why people think he's a better basketball player than he is.

I like Bradley Beal, but he has to take his game to another level, an all-star, all-NBA level. He can't continue to miss 15-20 games every fuckin' season and average 15 a game when he does play.

The rest of their roster needs work.

Nene and Gortat are bums.

They both pass the looks test, but Nene is charmin soft with a beastly frame, Gortat used to yam on dudes back in his Orlando and Phoenix days, he's been soft ever since he started trying to dress GQ while rocking a mohawk.

I'm a true believer in that in the playoffs the better team wins, these aren't the days when Denver could shock Seattle in a Best-of-5, now you have to win four games, that's not an easy task, especially considering in such a scenario you might have to win one, if not two games on the opponent's home court.

I'm in agreement with Jariel but I was a Clippers believer after they beat the Spurs in game 7. Again it shows they just don't have the physical and mental toughness to grind out for the entire playoffs.

Although the West is the much better conference overall what they lack is that toughness that is needed to win and grind through so many 7 game series in the playoffs. The East winner usually has less flash than the West but much more toughness that is required for the playoffs. That's why the East has won more championships.

That's pretty mean.

They beat us at home in the first game and Blake played well most of the series. I. Don't think Paul is healthy either. He seemed one step too slow and played very vanilla. I respect that Clippers team. Houston did not deserve to win based on their silly strategies. Houston just wanted it more. Especially Dwight, I haven't seen him like this since the Orlando years.

If they keep tossing the lob passes to Dwight, they might have a chance of beating the Warriors. They need more balance of two point plays with the three shot. Percentage wise the Warriors are better at shooting. I don't want to see a shootout. That's a suckers strategy.

I didn't know Magic still talked trash like that haha.

Seems like he has some beef with the Clippers. Wasn't he one of the runners to own the Clippers after the whole Sterling debacle?

Yeah Sterling was dissing him in those tapes. Then he tried to buy the team with his investors but got outbid big time by Steve Ballmer. He has been bitter about it and that comment shows it. Had he owned the team he would have never said that.
