The defense Jordan faced in the paint night to night would result in fines and suspensions today. LeBron is awesome in an era where you can't play physical defense. Jordan would average 45+ points.

RE: The NBA Thread
Wilt Chamberlain is the greatest player of all-time. Championships don't mean that much unless you have a team. Even so, no one calls Robert Horry better than MJ.

Wilt is by far the most dominate athlete of North American sports next to Gretzky.

For anyone about to say that Wilt played against 6' white dudes, here's a video to debunk you:

Teams were still trying to get Wilt to play for them when he was 50 years old.

The guy averaged 45.8 mins per game for his entire career. In an era where pace was much much faster than today's game. Unbelievable. In 1961-62 he averaged 48.5 mins per game. He played every min of every game including overtime.

The guy had an unstoppable fadeaway.

He fucked around and almost got a quint double

22 points, 25 rebounds, 21 assists, 14 blocks, 7 steals

People thinking he'd get bulldozed by someone like shaq:

Wilt would completely dominate today's nba. No one would stop him at all. But it doesn't sell shoes to tell people he's the greatest ever.

The guy is an anomaly.

If you've been under a rock today...

https://www.theringer.com/nba/2018/5/29/...elle-fultz

The article indicates that that source could be Hinkie.

Terrible news for the sixers...

but then again, they didn't hire the Colangelo wierdos, the NBA did.

David Griffen is available though.

It's too bad Shaq played in the era he did, I would have liked to see him start his career in today's NBA.

People forget how much of a freak athlete he was before he decided to just get huge and body people. Even at 400 whatever, he still was deceptively fast. It shouldnt be natural to move like Orlando Shaq moved.

Here's an awesome preview of the NBA Finals that are about to start tomorrow. We all know the NBA made its money already. Now they just need to stretch this thing to 6 or 7 games & they are set:

If this is how the rest of the series goes, Lebron deserves MVP of finals even if they lose.

The officiating in the last 2 minutes of regulation tonight was especially egregious. Terrible. Who knew you could review a block/charge call? This series is over.

How can you be the Most Valuable Player on a losing team? Most outstanding of the series no doubt about it, but I don't understand how people can say someone was the MVP in a losing effort.

Trusting JR Smith to secure you a game victory essentially is like trusting Mohamed Atta to land your plane safely or Cheech & Chong to drive you home after the party.

Jordan, Russell, Lebron, Kareem, Bird, Magic over Chamberlain in that order.

Stat obsessed showboater Chamberlain didn't care about winning, teamwork, or leadership. Never wanting to foul out? Benched late in big games?

Bill Russell was a top 3, if not the best player on each of those 11 teams.

Robert Horry was a starter for 3 of his 7 championships, 3rd best at most on those 3.

I have Hakeem and Shaq over Wilt as Centers as well.

He scored and averaged fewer ppg than both in the playoffs.....and shot a worse FG% than Olajuwon which surprised me given how Hakeem was sometimes undersized vs guys whereas Wilt had a physical advantage vs the bulk of his match ups.

His 1969 Finals performance is easily THE worst of any HOF player. Jerry West played pretty much like LBJ last night over 7 games and they still lost.

Honestly Cavs should have won that...refs blew two calls late in the game that highly highly benefited the Warriors. If the Cavs stole game one at Oracle... I think the dynamic of this whole series would have shifted.

Cavs lost this series a few weeks ago. Both Houston and GS were gonna beat em.

Cavs could have a 12 point lead, but if you go grab a fresh beer from the fridge, GS might drop 4 threes and tie it up.

Lebron is the best player of all time, but he can't beat this team alone.

Remember when Steph left the game? No.
Remember when Klay left the game? No.
Remember when Dray left the game? No.
Remember when Durant left the game? No.

Remember when Lebron left the game?

Because hes the most valuable. Subtract any one player from the Warriors, they still win the series. Subtract Lebron, this team doesn't even have a winning record.

Not with 5 NBA Finals losses. I like LeBron I think he's a monster and I want the Cavs to win this year, but to say he's the GOAT is really stretching it.

Michael Jordan 6 of 6

Kobe Bryant 5 of 7

LeBron James 3 of 8

Lebron has been to more finals than the other guys thanks to a very weak Eastern Conference in the past 10 years. But the other guys have won more finals.

RE: The NBA Thread
I guess I am officially an old fogey.

I hated this game. There was none of the intensity of a championship series in this one. Zero take no prisoners defense. No floor burns. No one hits the boards. Will anyone dive for a loose ball ever again? I kept wishing there was a way both teams could lose. A complete absence of game faces. All I saw on the faces was whiny spoiled babyishness, except for maybe Klay Thompson.

I felt no tension, no greats getting greater, nothing. It could have been a regular season game if you didn't know it was game one of the championship series.

JR Smith shouldn't play another game in this series. Bench his ass just on principle alone.

Yeah you're an old fogey, though I do miss those things. I love the ridiculous shooting though. It's insane how good they are.

The conversation is between Jordan and LeBron, Kobe had prime Shaq for 3/5 titles, so lets not act like all five of those were solely Kobe's doing. Plus I don't count the 2002 as an NBA title for the Lakers (should have lost game six in WCF to the Kings, if not for the officials rigging the game).

To LeBron's credit he drug some absolutely horrible Cavs teams to the NBA finals (see link below) and probably has one more title if Kyrie doesn't get hurt against Golden State the first go-round.

You talk about the "weak" east now, but what super teams did Jordan's bulls have to go through every year?

If you're going to use that against Kobe than you have to use that against LeBron. Let's not forgot that he wouldn't have gotten out of the first round this year if it wasn't for the refs. If you forgot about the goal tend that didn't get called. But even after that he still is better than Kobe but doesn't have as good as a killer instinct.
