To be honest though, basketball seems to be more towards the bottom of the totum poll for people in Denver. Most of the other major sports come first. A surprisingly high number of people like baseball, which is probably my least favorite sport. It's been hard for me to meet people that I can talk to about basketball here. Maybe I'm just not meeting the right people.

What would you say the most popular team is? The Broncos?

Yeah I would say the Broncos. I think it's pretty much always been that way, but over the last couple years with Tebo and now Manning, I think the Broncos fan base has perpetuated even more.

RE: The NBA Thread
There are 3 types of games -- Regular season games, Playoff games, and Game 7's!

I took the day off from work today. Why???

Game 7!!!

I don't want any other responsibilities today. I just want to workout, cook soup, do laundry, play a little ball, read the forum, and then watch the game!

Lifestyle Design! Lol

The Pacers have a better team but The Heat have the best player. Lets see what happens!

This is getting away from Indiana quickly. They're playing really poorly so far.

...and that's why you attack Hibbert. He'll block his share of shots, but if you keep going at him, you'd draw some fouls. You have to make him play.

This Pacers team needs to make some serious adjustments on defense. Plus, they are forcing too many shots on offense.

RE: The NBA Thread
This also illustrates the benefits of having players that have been here before. That have been in Game 7s and come through, so deep down they have that confidence. Wade came out of the gate strong, and Allen, who in their title run in Boston got taken to Game 7s in every series except the final against LA (won in 6, and by a blowout in the clincher), also found his stroke when it mattered the most. Bosh, though he isn't shooting well, is playing with a lot more passion. The problem with Bosh and Wade earlier in the series was that even though they weren't scoring, they also weren't contributing in other areas that could have still helped them win.

RE: The NBA Thread
Welcome Miami Heat, after a brief sighting in Game 3 this is the Heat team we saw during the regular season.

The Pacers are better than Miami Cavaliers. The Miami team that we saw during the regular season and expected to show up this series is a better team than the Pacers overall. Wade and Bosh are finally playing with the intensity in game 7 that we all expected them to injuries or not.

Bingo. Wade finally attacking the basket and Bosh driving. Bosh has to mix it up against Spurs too. Take your 3s but drive. He's good at it.

Nailed it. If they were playing with any passion and looked like they actually cared this would not have gone to 7. They basically stopped showing up and looked like "they were going through the motions" expecting to win. Indiana is a terrific team and I think whatever happens this season Miami does need to get bigger but the series was tied because Wade and Bosh disappeared.

Birdman's follow dunk also illustrates why you have to make a big man react and challenge shots. It takes him out of position to rebound. If the shot misses, he's out of the play and someone can swoop in from the weak side and clean up. Other defenders tend to get caught looking at the ball, but not for a body to box out.

I'm chalking this series up to home court advantage. Miami is not that much better than Indy.

Well, it isn't over YET. At the same time, I always say that the best team is the team that plays the best. You can have all kinds of advantages on paper, but if that talent doesn't execute in moments like this, you can't claim to be the better team. There's no consolation in being at home, watching another team lifting the trophy under a confetti shower FEELING like you were better if you had only done this or that when you had the chance...

Lance Stevenson is just going through the motions. Hill is being outplayed at the point. West has been off the last 2 games and rarely goes strong to the basket as opposed for settling for jumpers. Paul George is invisible. Perhaps Stevenson should guard James so Paul can concentrate on generating some O since he keeps losing James for open 3s and slashes to the basket anyway.

Miami as a whole is finally playing like it wants to be in the Finals, rather than expecting to be crowned champs for simply showing up.

Who is Wade checking? If its Stevenson and Wade has a bump knee shouldn't Stevenson be taking him to the basket?

If Wade and Bosh played with this same intensity the entire series Miami wins this easily in 6. Bosh is actually fighting for rebounds which he should have been doing the entire series, Wade is attacking the rim and getting rebounds which he should have been doing entire series too.

As I said previously, if the Miami Cavaliers showed up, Pacers had a legitimate shot, the Pacers are not better than the actual Miami Heat.

As Timoteo said, Wade and LeBron weren't even attacking Hibbert and they have this game and look at what's happening now.

It's over. I'd like to see Tony Parker bring his "A" game for the next series. The Spurs should be a lot more fundamentally sound than Indiana. Leonard vs James should be interesting. I think San Antonio has seen a lot that they can use against the Heat.

We have to remember that this team has played under intense scrutiny and constant pressure over the course of the last 3 seasons. They've trailed in some series, and have faced close-out games along the way. They've dealt with the almost nationwide hate. It would be hard to find a more battle-tested team anywhere. They lost their way a bit in this series, but sometimes it takes desperation to get guys back in the right mindset.

As long as its Miami Heat showing up for the Spurs we got a long series. If Wade and Bosh disappear again, Spurs in 5. Spurs have too many offensive weapons, amazing execution, and the best coach in the game, Wade and Bosh better show up.
