I only listened to the game on the radio - what happened to Parker? Was it bad?

He left the game with a hamstring problem in the 3rd, came back in the 4th for 2 min until it was obvious they didn't need him tonight, and he's getting a MRI tomorrow. He didn't sound very concerned about it after the game.

Btw, did anyone hear this at the end of the game?

It took me a few seconds to catch it while watching live and I thought it was a rvf level trolljob.

There are a lot of players in between MJ and Lebron. I don't understand why people make this comparison. Last night was a perfect example. As a seasoned vet and champion, Mike would not have deferred to other players and gotten blown out in the process. Mike would not have been so passive as to not shoot even 1 free throw in a finals game. Mike would have assessed the other players on the team very early on and took over if they weren't producing.

Lebron, on the other hand, often plays timid. He can pad the stats, but he'll lose while scoring a triple double. Mike focused like a laser on exactly what he needed to do to win. Mike, Magic ... all the great ones ... let the other players feed off of them by setting the tone, especially on the road, where lesser talented players often don't step up.

Looks like Parker has a slight strain but no tear.

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nba--tony-p...36663.html

Parker underwent an MRI on Wednesday morning that revealed the strain and, importantly, didn't show a tear or defect. Parker announced the results on his Twitter account.

Hope he will play, huge difference maker especially if the bombardment brothers go cold.

Can't say I disagree but I will still wait for the end of the series to pass judgement. For all we know they win game 4, he has a game where he plays like himself again and then it's a best of 3.

What I do know is if he loses these finals his legacy will take a severe blow and all those budding Kobe and Jordan comparisons will go right out the window.

From what we know in this league is that every Finals you lose could be your last time here. Gotta make the most of your opportunities, too many other variables come into play each season. Look at OKC, everybody was predicting a Heat-OKC rematch. Then they trade Harden and Westbrook goes down for the playoffs.

Can't wait for game 4.

RE: The NBA Thread
I'll bump this thread.

Looks like Spo is considering starting Mike Miller to bolster their offense. Possibly running Bron at the five .

Looks like the Spurs have the upper hand. Hopefully Parker bounces back & has a good game.

I hope the Spurs win. Mike Miller can shoot but that is about it, I think he is a defensive liability. And Spurs play good defense and will be smarter about looking for Miller coming up as a trailer and popping a 3.

I sure hope the bombardment brothers light it up again tonight. I don't know what it is, but I always like seeing (non-cocky) youngsters get a chance to shine and help the vets who have carried a franchise for so long. Especially, Green and Neal because their paths to the NBA were not easy ones. A good story for kids and people about hard work, perseverance and a good attitude (Mr. Grumpy would have jettisoned them if they were headaches.)

He's desperate. I smell blood in the water if Parker is healthy.

RE: The NBA Thread
LeBron needs to get 6-8 points a quarter tonight. If he asserts himself, and gets to the line a couple of times a quarter, that isn't difficult for him. He needs one of those "put the team on my shoulders and carry them" kind of performances tonight. Period. No worrying about getting guys involved - they need to get out and run with him, or get left behind. they need to all work to get HIM shots, instead of him working to get THEM shots.

Beautifully played so far by the Spurs, those 3s are adding up quickly.

And that's the end of the 1st, is Lebron going to have another Celtics game 6 performance?

When Bosh should have taken a short jump shot, instead he tries to attack the basket aggressively and doesn't get the dunk before the buzzer. Ridiculous. Now watch, when he has plenty of time on the clock, he'll hoist another long jumper.

I thought Miami would go flat out after their first timeout, but Parker has kept them in this game. Feels like a letdown for the Heat for the game to be tied at this point.

Great half. A game of runs.

Wade and Parker look like they went to Germany for treatment in their legs. James is playing like a bull. Super aggressive. Duncan needs to give his team a bit more.

Sets up for a great second half.

RE: The NBA Thread
The commentators spoke about it - but Miami came out hard and punched hard and hustled. But the Spurs didn't flinch. I am sure none of them are thinking about it, but if a guy takes your best punch usually that doesn't bode well for you. Wade just got his 4th and Spo is leaving him in. He is having a good game, but if he fouls out - I think it will be over.

Fuck the 3's keep dropping for the Spurs, which is good.

Why is Ginobli in there?

Manu is killing the Spurs with unforced turnovers and missed open shots. Why does Pop keep him in the game?

Miami is still soft, but Wade is having one of his best games this year.

OK DWade I see you! The difference for LeBron was getting those buckets in transition early. He's clearly much more comfortable being a playmaker rather than shooting the rock 30 times, so seeing the Bosh and DWade go nuts is a good omen for the Heat.
