I was at a pool party. I thought someone got shot at the bar. The whole place started screaming and yelling. The party was half Kings fans and half Laker fans.

Horry is one of my all time favorite players.

For anyone who isn't familiar, if a game isn't on in your area or you're at work and have access to a computer and want to watch a game, check out http://www.firstrowsports.eu. It has all the games on. I watch it all the time so I don't miss my Lakers games.

When I get back from the park and have dinner, I want to write a post about Kobe's drive and dedication, that is my favorite part of the NBA right now.

@Gio, can't help but feel a little vindicated haha. Yeah, your last post clears all the confusion. We were saying the same thing over and over. My original post referenced to Miami's big 3 as stars in response to TheCool and that basically meant top 20 players or superstars (I am sure most would agree).

At one point, we were literally going around in circles, but it's all good.

That being said, InternationPlayboy to your point, Lakers do have two superstars at the time but Dwight Howard is injured. As limited as he is offensively, people forget how good this guy was from 08-11. When healthy he's a top 10 or maybe even a top 5 player. If Dwight Howard was 100% healthy, I am sure Lakers would be a top 4 seed.

It does make for great drama when the Lakers are constantly losing and fighting for the 8th spot with a $100 million roster but you can't deny that they have had shitty luck with injuries. I still think they are too old and slow and Kobe needs to find a better balance between dominating 10 straight possessions and distributing. However, if they retain the team for next year (even with MikeD, everybody comes back 100% healthy, and there is some semblance of chemistry), I think they should be a top 4 seed next year.

I was watching that game on and off. I find it ironic that a coach who made his name off a face-paced offense, offensive spacing, ball sharing, and 7 seconds or less, allows Kobe to dominate the ball too much. But it's not simple as that. I just always get look for ball movement because today's two best teams Spurs and Miami are predicated on ball movement and finding the open man.

To add insult to injury Kobe left the game on crutches with burn spurs in his ankle. Between Nash's back and hammy and Metta World Peace knee I would not be surprised if the Lakers miss the 'offs Dallas and Utah are right there.

RE: The NBA Thread
When Dwight is healthy, he is vastly better than people give him credit for offensively and he has led all centers in scoring 3 of the last 4 seasons. Keep in mind historically his shot attempts have ranged between 10-13 a game which is woeful to say the least for a star. You would also be hard pressed to name moves that Bynum can do that he can't. He is also an amazing P and R player and has 3 or 4 money go to moves including an improved hookshot. His limitations offensively apply more to his passing and free throw shooting. He also tends to look mechanical and not smooth, but that is much different than being effective and that's where most of the criticism seems to stem from.

I agree. Gasol was definitely a top 20 player that year. He was the most skilled big man in the league that year. He couldn't maintain himself at that level for very long but for that year, he was a great player. Having Bynum, Artest, and Kobe around him really helped him to flourish.

Fuck the Heat for not playing LBJ, Bosh, Wade or Chalmers in the Spurs game. I was looking forward to seeing all those stars playing each other. I think they're sitting them out so they can make an excuse when the Spurs whoop that ass.

Nah....it's more of a chess move. They are sitting them out so now the Spurs won't know anything about match-ups either if they meet in the finals. Also, it's kind of a "fuck you" to Pop. Pop was making jokes about it in the pre-game interview.

Basically, both the coaches won't have the best information for a game plan if they meet in the finals. I predict a blow out in Game 1 for the team with home court and then we'll get a real series.

Btw, Bosh is playing.

Yeah, Coach Spo is giving Pop a dose of his own medicine. Using a Spurs move against the Spurs!

Spurs up at the half.

Louisville looked good against Duke.

As much as I like Michigan, Louisvilles backcourt, plus Dieng and Behanan inside makes them look pretty much unstoppable from here on out.

Yep, I stand corrected. Impressive win by the Heat bench. I hear what you guys are saying about the chess move. I was just bitter haha.

Yeah, I am surprised Heat won. But this is what almost happened when the Spurs sat their stars. Miami barely won. I think if you are one of the big 3 or the big 2 on the Spurs (without Ginobili), you think the other stars aren't playing and probably go into cruise control mode.

On a separate note, Bosh needed this win more than the Heat or Spurs to remind people he's still a superstar and a top 20 player. He gets mocked (often because he's a weird guy) and undermined (because he players with two top 5 players); he's averaging low numbers of 16 and 7 and people think he's overrated/not a star. On any other team, he would be averaging 20/10.

Great game by Chris Bosh. Huge 3 pointer to win it.

He is underrated because of his "look" and personality. He seems kind of dorky and gay. But, it's not really true.

He is a tough dude and a great ballplayer.

It just goes to show how people judge us based on our body language, the way we talk and the way we look.

If he was a big macho, tough guy with tattoos, more people would respect him. Looks are important. Perception can be reality.

Slight edit and I agree. Posted this earlier but he is an ostrich.

Agreed. His "ostrich" look negatively effects the way people perceive him.

I think he looks like a dinosaur!
