Seriously guys why don’t you have League Pass!!??.. For about $150 you get the whole season(including playoffs) and get every game in HD and on-demand!!..It lets you pay per monthly installments and I think they just started offering single game options now as well!..It’s a MUST for any NBA fan..nothing better when travelling to be able to pull out your tablet or laptop and watch any game in HD.

Fuck it, I watch the games for free online. Once I get a dope set up with a nice big flat screen with HD, I'll consider it, but I bounce around so much right now, I don't find it worth the money at this point. If I'm gonna watch games on the internet, I'm just gonna watch them for free.

Lol i understand..i was the same and always watched the games online for free for years, didnt think it was worth paying for..but once i tested league pass i couldnt go back...especially during the playoffs...

Lakers as 8th seed if they get in is going to be fun to watch..wouldnt want to face them the way Kobe is playing....Indiana can seriosuly challenge the Heat.. Paul George is a beast!!!!..

RE: The NBA Thread
Yeah the playoffs should be pretty exciting this year. Kobe played great tonight, I was impressed. I'd much rather see him score 20 something and be a facilitator than 40. Melos starting to get back to where he was at the beginning of the season it's looking like. The heat though are a force to be reckoned with. They've really stepped it up this season. I think they're looking even better than they did last season. I'm also quit impressed with Denver. It's gonna be a pain in the ass living in Colorado being a lakers fan these playoffs.

The league pass is tempting. I might check it out next season depending on my situation. This season I've been doing a lot of bouncing around. I've been in 7 cities in 3 months. Thanks for the heads up on it though, definitely something ill look into for the future.

Great thread--I'm becoming a bigger NBA fan by the season, and am excited to see if the Heat will retain their title...that team is no joke.

I'm a huge Wizards fan (along with all other DC sports teams), and I try to watch every game of theirs. People underestimate how good we actually are--we went from being a 5-28 team before the All Star break, to a 23-18 with a healthy John Wall. The aim is to set ourselves up for playoff contention next year, and most notably develop the backcourt chemistry of Wall and Beal. I hope Wall gets the max contract--he's been on fire.

Melo, 40 more points tonight. That puts him at 90 the last two games.

Wall is a monster. We are at the golden age of point guards right now. What is your top five? Wall has been playing like a top five point guard since he has been back.

1. Paul 2. Parker 3. Westbrook 4. Wall 5. Lawson

I am talking about right now. I know Rose is out as well as Rondo. Williams fell off. Rubio and Lillard are future stars. I like that Bucks cat but something is off about him. Him and Rubio need to work om their shot. Kobe has taken over the playmaking so Nash is relagated to a spot up shooter. Felton shoots to much for me but behind Melo and Smith, who else should take shots? Conley is that dude. Dependable, efficient, plays D. I'd put him in the top ten easy.

Is Curry a PG? His shot is so sweet and he is averaging 7 assist a game. Maybe he should be four and lawson five.

The cycle of disrespect can start with just an appetizer.

Kyrie Irving will be the best PG hands down in 2 years..He is just 20 yrs old!!!.. think about that.....I have never seen handles like his before..and his stroke is nearly as nice as Currys...Lilliard is going to be special too...

But top 5 right now i would say when healthy:
1.Paul
2.Rose
3.Rondo
4. Wall
5. Westbrook

Man i miss watching Rose play. I hope he doesnt come back untll next year though as too much pressure if he comes back straight into the playoffs...

Hmmmm Wall over Irving? Irving is much more skilled especially shooting and handling the ball since he not only shoots a high percentage from midrange and deep, but he has a dizzying array of shots around the rim. He also changes speeds and directions much more effectively, while Wall tends to just go full speed all the time and get out of control a lot. He's also a below average shooter(although he's improved over a small sample size this year). Ty Lawson is great, but he's not as skilled as Irving either.

Wall is more of a passer than Irving-- 7.6 vs 5.7 assists per game. While he's passing more to the likes of Beal, Ariza, and Webster for the open shots, he's been clutch with his FG too. I think it was against Denver when people noticed how much he improved his jumpshot. There's no doubt that Kyrie is a monster for years to come, but Wall will be right up there too.

TexasMade-- my top 5 (actively playing): 1. Paul 2. Parker 3. Williams 4. Curry 5. Westbrook

Funny that you mention assists to illustrate that a player is a better passer. The thing about assists is without context it is difficult to ascertain just how good a measurement it is for passing. Assists are given out liberally.Even if the receiving player has taken 3 of 4 dribbles and a pump fake after getting a pass the PG often will still get an assist.

Think about it if a PG pounds the ball for 30 seconds at the top of key and he passes to his 2G who drills a contested jumper off of a screen, is the PG going to get the assists? Yes. Did he show that he was a great passer though? Not really. You've already mentioned that JWall also plays with 3 of 4 legit shooters, while Kyrie essentially plays with 1(one dimensional Wayne Ellington avging 7.6/gm), while Kyrie essentially has to shoulder a bigger scoring load due to weak personnel so that plays a part as well. He's actually just as capable of threading the needle as John Wall is so there isn't much seperation there either tbh.

Kobe puts up 47 points and puts Lakers one game up from the Jazz! They go back home to play their last three games, all three opponents are playoff contenders. Thank god! Their situation wasn't looking very good at the half.

Unbelievable. That's why Kobe is one of the greatest of all time. It's frustrating that alongside the league's best center he can't contend, but that's how it is.

My bro argued that watchin Kobe you can just see that his game is old fashioned. I kinda agree, his style of play harkens back to the late 90's and early 2000's. Today's NBA seems to be all about muscular drives to the basket and popping it out to the perimeter shooter for the three, with little in between. As an old fogie, I prefer the Kobe style of more versatile play.

RE: The NBA Thread
Is the NBA fixed?

No.

But, they are a private, for profit business. So, they do try influence things. If the Lakers make the finals, more fans will watch, which means more $$$ for the NBA. I'm sure they want a Heat-Lakers Finals. Of course they do, they want to make money.

It has happened before. I couldn't find it on google but a player did get caught in the 1950s.

College players get caught all the time.

We know about Tim Donaghy.

It does happen in the NBA, rarely. But, I don't think there are any big conspiracies.

The Top 5 point guards?

Thats tough because there are so many good ones.

Derrick Rose is hurt so I won't include him. If he is healthy, he could be #1. Rando is also hurt. If he is healthy, he is top 5.

My list:

1. Chris Paul (The best pure fundamental point guard) (The best leader)
2. Westbrook (The best athlete at the position) (Biggest, strongest, fastest)
3. Parker (The savvy veteran)
4. D-Williams (Former top 3, he was hurt, he is back, check what he has been doing recently)
5. ????

Irving, Lawson, Curry???

Any of these guys could be #5. It just depends who is playing better this week.

Lilliard, Rubio, Holiday are gonna be good.

Kobe

I'm not a Laker fan but I have to respect this guy. He is one of the greatest guards of all time.

What I really respect is his work ethic. He is the hardest worker in the NBA and one of the hardest workers in the history of pro sports.

If we all worked on our game as hard as Kobe does works on his, we would all be swimming in pussy. He wants it bad. It's his mission in life.

Got my Knicks playoff tickets today.

If you're looking for any games shoot me a PM, I have extra(usually single ticket) tickets for each game in the first two rounds. You will however be paying the going rate on stubhub. I'd rather sell them to you so we can each save a few bucks and eliminate stubhub fees, and I like you guys more.

Not to mention how impressive his physical game is at his age. The only other player that's come out that physical at 34 is Michael Jordan. The man is just a natural. Sure he's not the best in the league right now, being 34 and all, but he's top 5, and he'll surely be remembered more than anyone playing in the league at the moment. He'll be #2 after Jordan IMO.

RE: The NBA Thread
@Gio, agree with everything you said but two things. I am pretty sure technically the NBA is a not for profit organization. The teams are registered businesses.

Secondly, Kobe has been impressive this season and I am not a Kobe fan either but I do wonder how long can he play these 48 minute games at age 34? Even if they make the playoffs, I wouldn't be surprised if he just runs out of gas and has some bad shooting games in the playoffs because of no lift in his legs. He looked gassed last year all series against OKC and the year before Dallas. He is definitely healthier this year but if he keeps on playing these 45+ minutes games, he will probably end up that same tired Kobe in the playoffs.

@InternationPlayboy: Kobe is great but I don't know about him being #2 after Jordan. Too many other great players. Only time will tell.
