RE: The NBA Thread
Who's talking shit?

My point is that he needs to be better prepared. Lebron has been cramping up for a couple of years now. You would think that they would have some sort of routine set up for him by now to address the problem. I'm not about to google remedies for cramping here. Maybe lower his HGH dosage or something...

Sounded like he was trying to get back in at the 3:30 mark in the 4th and Coach Spo told him to forget about it.

Jordan would've had the killer look of death on his face if it happened to him. Lebron looked like he didn't want to let everyone down. Just sayin'

Everybody else is playing in the heat too, not just lebron. Parker is playing injured.

Yeah, cramps. Because a broken leg and the flu are nothing.

The Heat's defense was on point until they lost focus in the 4th quarter. Every passing lane was contested, and all of a sudden, the easy no-look passes the Spurs usually get disappeared.

Westbrook was the only player OKC had that was athletic enough to get in every passing lane. The Heat have at least 4 guys that do this.

Kobe has played seasons, not games, with broken bones and torn ligaments.

Also I'm pretty sure that being a Heat supporter is on the list of RVF bannable offenses, right? ... Right?

Isaiah played, and came through, with his right ankle in pieces. Bird played, and came through, barely conscious with a concussion. Magic played with AIDS...(sorry, couldn't resist).

But seriously. They all know he's prone to cramps. Do something about it. Trainer should have been pumping him with water at halftime, ANTICIPATING the situation. He's worth how much? It's the Finals. Nobody had the foresight to think about this condition? It's not like he's a role player. It's LeBron James.

RE: The NBA Thread
Has LeBron's poor body language in the clutch ever been talked about here? Is it just me, or has he just always looked like he didn't want to be out there when it mattered most. I was reminded of it again when I saw the look of utter helplessness on his face tonight.

Some guys have it and others don't. Compare LBJ's look to Russell Westbrook's. If talent was equal, I would take Westbrook over LBJ. Westbrook has no fear and shows no fear at the end of games. You can't say that about LBJ. His body language gives it away.

Some guys just look like they're going to steal meat from feeding lions.

Yeah, it would seem like the guys saying LeBron should've played are either trolling because they dislike LeBron or have never really been athletes in any kind of organized capacity and can't really fathom the experience. Even if you just play pickup this is bound to have happened to most people at some point. I clearly remember when I was younger playing in hot ass gyms or outside in 90 degree weather and sometimes having my foot or calf spasm uncontrollably since I wasn't properly hydrated and didn't know better at the time. They can be debilitating, and he isn't the first guy this has happened to either, as its pretty common in other sports like tennis and soccer.

This medical report suggests that you're more susceptible to heat illness if you're on PEDs.

Bill Burr is a sports savant who frequently comments on major sports on television. Furthermore, it's true: Willis Reed did play with a broken leg.

Based on your various comments, it seems like you think only people as good as these athletes can critique their game or mettle. Where do we submit footage of our high-school games so that you can approve our right to discuss sports?

Willis Reed only played a few minutes and scored 4 points in that game.Walt Fraizer had 36 points and 19 assist, I'm pretty sure he was the MVP that night. So yeah he doesn't know what he's talking about. The hate for Lebron is just idiotic at this point.

You will always have haters. It's lonely at the top. For example, I dislike Tim Duncan's swag and game.. A great player, yes but bores me dreadfully. Nothing about Timmy motivates me to get a ball and start hooping or honing my physique.

I'd love to see Ginobili get a Finals MVP. That man is a starting SG for most teams but he comes off the bench for the best interest of the team. It definitely has hurt his chances of getting into the HOF, but I fully think he deserves to be there when he retires.

That push on Splitter after he was out of picking position was definitely a technical. I wasn't pissed at it being deemed a common foul though. Refs aren't going to get everything.

(06-05-2014 10:12 PM)Slim Shady Wrote:  I guess the Spurs are lucky not to be down 20 with all their TOs. Need one good run by Manu...
The Heat really didn't take advantage of the third quarter. The Spurs literally shit the bed in that quarter. I thought the game was going to blow wide open, but for some reason no body could get it in the hoop.

(06-05-2014 10:49 PM)CaP7 Wrote:  Pssst!!! 90 degrees is nothing. Big freaking deal.
I grew up in Austin so 90 really is no big deal to me. I played two hours of full court in a gym that was in the high 80's/low 90's today and I felt fine. My enemy is the cold. I have to wear compression pants in the winter to keep blood running through my legs when the gym is running in the low 60's. My shot is bricktastic until I start sweating. My left leg also cramps up hardcore in the cold, but I just switch on D to a weaker threat and play through it.

Lebron grew up in a colder climate so I can see how the opposite would affect him like it did tonight. However, he and the Heat staff should have preparation to reduce the likelihood of cramps. Sitting out was the right choice because he would have been too slow to guard anyone on that court, and that would have negatively effected his team's performance. It should also be noted that his cramp would have totally screwed his shot. I hope he is back in full force for game 2 because I want the Spurs to win this the hard way. The last think I want is for sports journalism to put an asterisk next to their 2014 championship.

Don't get too excited. The Heat have won 12 consecutive playoff games following a loss. They are built for this.

Spurs won game 1 last year and lost. The Thunder did the same in 2012 and still lost.

Lebron James is one of the greatest of all time for a reason. This is going to be a series.

I think jordan, kobe bryant and magic johnson were better. If you are going to say "greatest of all time", you have to include the best.

CONSPIRACY!!!!#$%^&*&^

Quote:But there is no doubt he harbors this particular weakness and it has surfaced in the playoffs before, when spring turns toward summer around the country. He's battled this for years.... Ever since James said he thought the Heat's arena was a little too warm during the 2012 Finals, the team has made sure to blast the air conditioning whenever it starts to get warm in Miami. For some games, before fans fill up the bowl, it becomes legitimately cold in the arena during the playoffs.... By midnight, though, cool air was coursing through the building, leading to mentions of conspiracy that were only half in jest.
