We're on the hook no matter what since his contract his fully guaranteed. The stretch provision just means we can spread his contract over a longer period, for short-term cap relief.

Yes, if a team claims him off waivers then yes, but 99% he will clear waivers, become a free agent and the Pistons will be on the hook for his $26 mil AFTER this season.

Edit: If he clears waivers Pistons are paying his this year's salary too. All in all you guys will be on the hook for the next 5 years but it will only be a $5mil/year hit after this year and with the rising salary cap it might not be so bad.

RE: The NBA Thread
Van Gundy has only proven he can coach when he has top-flight talent, and his performance and thought process as an executive thus far has left a lot to be desired.

Let's not forget, dude was the Warriors' first choice, and he took the Pistons job because they offered him control of the basketball operations as well.

If you're not Pop, I don't want a coach also being the GM, the track record on it working out is rather thin.

RE: The NBA Thread
Honestly, I am very happy Van Gundy did this to Smith. This shows that SVG has ball and allows Pistons to fully develop Drummond who has the potential to be the next dominant big man. Smith was a cancer and a chucker. People are acting like he was some rookie and SVG didn't show enough patience with him. Newsflash: Smith is a 10 year vet in the league shooting 39% from the field this year. If you wanna blame anyone blame Dumars for signing Smith in the first place when anyone with a basic understanding of the game could see how bad of a fit Smith was going to be on a team with Monroe and Drummond.

Brandon Jennings is still on the roster, and Monroe needs to get moved, guys don't take the QFO just to re-sign the next year.

Jennings was also a Dumars move. Seriously, that guy ran the franchise into the ground after helping Pistons win in 04, his last 6-8 years were absolutely terrible for the franchise. The potential is in Drummond, not Monroe and by moving Smith they can still try to develop Monroe and Drummond. Now they will have the cap room to offer Monroe big money if they see something in him. But Drummond is the best asset that Pistons have and SVG can fully develop him.

Jennings is also a lot more movable contract than Smith. Pistons had been trying to unload Smith for a while but teams wanted a first round pick to take his deal instead of offering one for him Laugh.

RE: The NBA Thread
Lakers rinse through G-State with Kobe sitting it out with a "night off". Mind you it was a trap game wit G-State on 3 games in 4 nights but still. Boozer came up from the dust, Lin with good efforts from the bench, they were running and gunning with G-State and out ran them on this night. Kobe bogs down offenses since the ball has to always channel through him and he will disrupt the flow when he feels like it. For all of his skill games like this show his flaws big time.

Plus who is this fine Nigerian broad doing the Golden State sideline reports...

TravelerKai and the rest of the Houston gang should be happy about J Smooth picking Houston. He won't have to do much so that should keep him below 18 feet. Now you have a legit post scorer and their defensive paint presence might be the best in the league now.

The west is ridiculous

He chose us!?

I must admit I do not recall watching him play before. I still wanted us to get a good PG but, maybe we can just be more physical and control the paint and play more defense. We got more than enough perimeter shooting, so I guess that will work for now.

My biggest concern watching them play the other night was that the ball movement is too poor. No one penetrates to kick out to the shooters. They all just take turns trying to create their own shots then pass when surrounded. I hate that style of play. It's just stupid. The Spurs are the gold standard for ball movement and that is fundamentally speaking the best way to play basketball.

I concur on that ass observation and the darker skin on Yorubas. The Igbo women were more down to earth with sexier legs I thought. But like you said, I never dated alot of them just a few and the exwife.

Its funny how sparse it is for a Nigerian man to date and fuck his own women. I don't even remember if I have even fucked a Nigerian broad yet..well a halfie...but not a fill blood.

Well said. There are no such things as secrets in Nigerian circles. The amount of gossip and drama is worse than black american circles. Watching a Nigerian drama movie, which can be very entertaining, can offer one a glimpse into what kind of drama goes on.

Wizards I would definitely bet against the Knicks.

Spurs I would wait to see if KD is playing and whether or not Pop is resting his guys. He doesn't give a fuck if it's a nationally televised game, he will rest his players.

Cavs should also be the favorites tomorrow. They lost Verajao but Bosh is also supposedly out and Miami has a lot of injuries right now.
