A lot of that is the media hyping up any sort of controversy. Kobe is just an asshole, but he also went to bat for Gasol with management and they seem pretty close to this day.

Oh, no question. Dirk's performance in the 2011 Finals is the stuff of legends.

J.R. is definitely a bonehead, but he's an upgrade over Waiters, in terms of chemistry.

Also, I don't recall J.R. having many issues with teammates, it's just his sometimes horrible shot selection and overall poor character.

Dion has been fighting teammates in practice, saying he won't come off the bench in interviews, etc.

RE: The NBA Thread
This season is the most interesting season in a long time. I legitimately have no idea who will win, so many good teams are in contention.

The Heat breaking up was great for the East. I think realistically the Bulls, Hawks, Wizards, Raptors or Cavs could win it all. Should be a great playoffs season.

And the West, shit, is it really going to be the Warriors? Could be they destroyed the Thunder last night by more than 20.

The Warriors are definitely legit. People forget that they almost bounced the Clippers last year, and the Spurs the year before that.

If they Bogut healthy for the playoffs. Watch out.

The Thunder aren't even going to make the playoffs at this rate. They need to get it going, and fast.

I'm gonna quote you on that one bro.

You honestly think the Suns or Pelicans are going to have a better record from here on out than the Thunder?

Pistons are this year's Raptors. SVG made the hard choice and improved the team. Lots of teams could probably do something similar but very few are willing to.

Pistons fans, you guys think you can make a playoff push now? The bottom of the East is wide open.

Envisioning a 7 or 8 spot for the Pistons

Possibly 6 if they can maintain some consistency and SVG can find a reliable rotation

Of course the disparity between the two conferences makes that almost a moot point because they wouldn't even make the playoffs in the rough and tumble West

I see no lack of toughness by Gasol, quite the contrary. I think the game against the Nuggets he had 9 blocks. 9 BLOCKS!!! He complements Joakim Noah well and gives the Bulls a much needed low post presence.

These guys are my favorite to win it all. The team is deep and fun to watch.

Hey man I'm a Lakers fan.. we knew what we were losing, it definately wasn't a case of good riddance.

The go deserved to be on a good team. We are going to retire his Jersey one day- book it! Pau Gaso Laker Legend.

SVG is the REAL MVP!!! Happy to see Pistons win 7 straight including some big ones over Spurs, Dallas, and Cavs.

But seriously, you can't give a bigger fuck-you than 7 straight wins to Josh Smith. Meanwhile the Rockets are 4-4 since acquiring him. What a waste of talent that guy is.

Josh Smith move is the Rudy Gay move 2.0. Gay killed the Raptors flow and offence since all he does is dead plays by holding the ball to long and taking weak shots. As soon as they traded his ass they had the best win pct. in those 30 games after the fact. Smith is mad overrated. He is the dace if all those years of weak mediocre 6-7th seed Atlanta ball.

To the Toronto cats on here:

I was watching some highlights on ESPN and the stadium looked half-filled. Is attendance for Raps games that bad generally? How popular is the team in Toronto?

Y'all got a legit team again this year. If attendance/fan base is that bad, that's a damn shame.

You likley only saw the lower bowl/half of the Arena. 98% of the games have been sold out. But in Toronto there are suites below ground and under the stands. The corp that owns the team invented a way to charge top dollar for a suite where you can't even see the game action*. In return these "bunker suites" automatically get access to the best seats that are not courtside. So during the start of the game and halftime/start or 3rd everybody is in thier suites or the bar/lounge drinking or eating the food. That's why seats look empty like that. I was at the game tonight, it was sold out.

*The back story behind those suites is that the arena was originally only supposed to be for the Raptors. Last minute the Maple Leafs bought in and they had to stop construction and alter plans. They had to throw in hockey stuff and dressing rooms so they dug the sub-level way deeper then needed and was able to barely stuff everything in. There were left with all this awkward dead space and didn't know what to do with it so they built in-closed windowless boxes/suites that had no view of the court. They made it ultra high-end and were able to convince people to pay top doller for them.

Boston turned Rondo into 2 first-round picks by flipping Wright
Denver turned Mozgov into 2 first-round picks

Man people are parting with picks this year... If your team isn't a top-5 team give up someone halfway decent for some future picks

You might have seen highlights before the end of half/start of 3rd when the arena is empty anyway. Raps have one of the best home courts in the NBA along with GSW/OKC/Blazers etc.

As Kosko pointed out a lot of the suits are given tickets to the game and have suites/sponsorships, but the Raps still have one of the better crowds in the NBA.

Remember "Jurassic Park" during the playoffs last year when there were 10,000+ outside the arena every game:

Lights out in Boston -- Jeff Green being shipped to Memphis Grizzlies. Three way deal may involve Clippers and Austin Rivers.

Despite pretty much unloading all the veterans (Brandon Bass next?), C's will still not end up tanking in the weak Atlantic Division. My only consolation is that at least we're not the Knicks, 76ers.

Man, this season is one of the hardest to watch and that's coming from a t-wolves fan! All three of our best players (Martin, Rubio, Pek) are out and no time table for a return. It has been fun to see Wiggins light it up, but I seriously have no idea when we will win again. I mean, we've already lost 15 in a row and could easily see 22+ losses in a row based on our schedule.

I'd love to have Okafor on this team, but we all know we won't get the # 1 pick due to our luck......

What the hell is wrong with the Bulls

They started out hot, D Rose 20 pts in the 1st half, walked away from the TV and they were up by 11 over the Wiz

Come back awhile later and they are down by 8 and counting

Bad omen

Jimmy Butler hasn't been playing well either lately and I don't want to think that what he did the first two months of the season was a fluke. There are rumors going around that Jimmy Butler is fatigued from playing way too many minutes.

Noah has obviously been playing like garbage. His knee is clearly bothering him and you can tell he's not the same. Noah last year was basically the Bulls defense and a lot of it was based off of hustle and energy. He injured his ankle tonight so he is going to miss some games.

Offensively they haven't been consistent. For instance tonight, Rose had a great game but the rest didn't. The last one Gasol had a monster game and everyone was cold. Jimmy Butler has a good game, Rose and Noah don't. If they can somehow try to get all players playing on the same page, results will be better.

...not to mention defensively I don't recognize these guys

Rose is getting beat a lot off the dribble and they haven't been protecting the rim

Since when do you know a Bull's team to be giving up 100+ pts this often
