Logistics of an internet podcast?
So I was just day dreaming about doing a podcast, where I'd have guest callers. Before deciding on whether to do it, I'm wondering about the logistics of it if I don't have a studio, for I'd like to have callers and what not. Anyone have experience?

I would love to hear an interview between you and Tom Leykis discussing foreign women/marriage/dating etc. He is very red pill and would probably be open to having you call in as a guest.

I listen to a football podcast two people do from home, and there is a cat always walking around so I don't imagine you need too much equipment or setup to get that going.

You could offer to go on London Real? They had an ep last year with Krauser.

I'm sure they'd be able to give you some tips and pointers.

Biz idea:

Build a podcast studio in a basement and rent it out.

RE: Logistics of an internet podcast?
Doing a podcast is long overdue.
You could go the gear & studio route, or just bare-bones basic. (I think Captain Capitalism does his on the road with just his phone's camera.) It just boils down to an mp3 audio file, right?
You already have a fan base/promotional network in place, so once it's started subscriptions should take right off. With serious numbers, advertisers would be that much easier to get. $$

As for format, calls might be cool if they're screened, but a lot of times callers can ramble and not get to the point. Even some hosts do that. (I don't think Roosh would -- in his videos he is succinct and knows what points he wants to make before the camera is rolling.)
Besides taking calls, taking emails/tweets would be even better. It forces them to get to their point, and the host can keep the show rolling more easily.

Good Luck

London Real is not a bad idea.

Also, I would look at the format they do for Bloggingheads. Would be cool to see maybe you and Krauser do one, or maybe, you and Paul Elam(!)

Maybe you could do it Via skype. and record yourself while you're at it.

Just get a headset mic so its clearer. Download audacity then start talking/recording. If you want a guest just have them skype call in and record from there (I think you can record their voice straight from skype ie. not as it comes out of the speakers)

I've had the fantasy about doing this myself for a while. Callers would be risky without a call screener, since a certain percentage of trolls and haters would be calling in. I wonder if the v-blog concept--which you already have made successful inroads into--doesn't have more potential.

Would be cool to have you interview guys around the world but also from the forum.

Looking forward to your podcast Roosh!

That would be hilarious if forum members called in to chop it up with Roosh for a few minutes (few hours for mechanico if he's drunk).

Even better, Roosh's next book is an el mechanico biography.

Mindblown

I listen to a few podcasts that people do from their homes and Bill Burr did one recently from a laptop in a hotel room so logistics shouldn't be a problem as long as you work out the sound on your computer. I assume calls would have to be through skype or a speaker phone. Or you could just have people leave voicemails and then replay the recorded messages (would save you the bother of editing out the pranks).

RE: Logistics of an internet podcast?
I have some friends who do an online radio show every week via Blogtalkradio. This site apparently has an interface that allows for calling in/on the air guests and at least some kind of call screening. The "broadcast" is saved so listeners who miss it live can still listen later... There's got to be a way to put that audio into podcast format, too.

RE: Logistics of an internet podcast?
Me and a friend of mine just started a podcast in my garage for his Detroit Tigers blog. We use a microphone almost identical to this: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=&sku=887058&Q=&is=REG&A=details

Quality is serviceable, listen for yourself if you want here.

Logistically speaking, it's about the easiest thing to start doing. As you get more involved in doing it, the quality will only improve. So far it seems like something that can be done portably with very little equipment, so it would be conducive to a location independent lifestyle.

If Roosh does start an internet podcast, one person I want to call in is Karl of The Medellin Diaries fame. It's probably my favorite of all Roosh's writing: http://www.rooshv.com/the-medellin-diaries-1

^Great links! It is great that you really don't need much fancy equipment to do a podcast (unless you want a really slick production).

The good thing about Roosh is that he already has a following. For most people, that is the hardest part. There are tons of dudes doing podcasts that don't have a following and are struggling to find an audience. Roosh, on the other hand, could put the video files on his youtube channel and his blog, and then put his podcasts as mp3 files on iTunes and other places to get maximum exposure.

The main thing that I think Roosh has to think about is what is he going to talk about. Is the podcast going to be about interviewing people or is it going to be Roosh dropping game knowledge? Also is it going to be done weekly or more (or less) frequently? How long is the show going to be? All this can of course be worked out as he goes, but it still is something that needs to be thought about.

RE: Logistics of an internet podcast?
This is a little more expensive than the Olympus but it has a lot of flexibility of using various mics. It has phantom power so it can power better mics. Just in case you want some long term flexibility.

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/82...gital.html

But I think most people just want to hear the solid advice/comments you make, production value just has to be audible. You are not making a movie or anything, though "Roosh The Movie" would be interesting.

Or a documentary, I would be interested in producing that! I have some production experience.

Bumping this old thread.

I’m about to create a podcast in my niche, what are people using these days to record and upload podcasts to iTunes?
