A documentary on networks/networking
I found a documentary on networks that I recommend - 'Networking, social and otherwise'.

It explains the implications of networking. Don't watch it for practical advice, but rather for a theoretical overview of why networks are important.

Unfortunately, I could only find the first 5 parts of it, but though incomplete I still think it's worth watching and it's rather mindblowing. Networks can be found everywhere in nature, not just in human social groups. It's like the underlying structure of the universe revolves around networking.

Practical implication/lesson to draw from this documentary:
- if you are looking for a job, you are 6 degrees apart from the person who can give you a job. You just have to hustle the degrees closer together.
- a small amount of people in any given group will form the 'hub.' You need to either be the hub or know the hub in order to know someone who can help you directly.

This is also good, it's a lecture on networks from a sociological perspective.

Highlight: How behaviours (especially obesity) spread through networks.

The first 15 minutes seem somewhat irrelevant but after that it becomes great.

A great Book on the topic is Never Eat Alone by Keith Ferrazzi.

Another real good book is Linked: How Everything Is Connected to Everything Else and What It Means.
