Eusabio and Figo also, though obvs CR is next level to those guys, as arguably one of the top two of all time.

Not only Eusebio or Figo, Portugal has a vast tradition in producing World Class players at least at some point in their careers, In the last 30 years I can easily recall other 10 or 20 of those.

Rui Costa (1× CL winner)
Paulo Sousa (2x CL winner)
Vitor Baia (1x CL winner)
Fernando Couto (multiple Uefa silverware no CL though)
Ricardo Carvalho (1x CL winner)
Paulo Futre (1× CL winner)
Rui Barros (multiple Uefa silverware no CL though)
Joao Pinto
Deco (2x CL winner)
Pepe (3x CL winner)
Pauleta
Bernardo Silva
Quaresma
Maniche (1x CL winner)
Jorge Costa (1x CL winner)
Nani (1x CL winner)
Rui Aguas (2x CL finalist)
Bosingwa ( 1x CL winner)
Sergio Conceição (multiple Uefa silverware no CL though)
Rui Patricio...

I think this hipothetical squad would beat most best squads of the same time frame. The combined Uefa competitions wins or finals of these players is just impressive.

Portugal has produced 2 truly exceptional players - one from Mozambique and one from Madeira.

Well, Madeira is Portugal, saying otherwise is the same as saying Guernsey is an overseas colony of England. I don't see your point. Figo also won the Balon D'or.

What exceptional players has England produced? Stanley Mathews in the 30s?

You're right, I've never been to an away game with England supporters. Doesn't mean there isn't extensive video evidence of them just having fun outside bars and then being charged at by Spanish/Italian/Russian gangs.

What do you think about the man from Liverpool lying in a coma due to an attack from an Italian fan Rossi? Or those who were put in comas, or had broken bones from 2016?

You English guys are delusional. It's not just a matter of football. Everywhere that English people go in packs turns to a total shithole. Albufeira, Magaluf, Cyprus, Sant Antoni in Ibiza...etc.

England produces the best and better educated people in the world, the funniest and friendlier guys, while at the same time produces the lowest leveled people of Europe.

And I am not saying Brits I am saying English.

Very simple. He probably provoked them and got his ass kicked. First of all, as you admit, you've never traveled with English fans to anywhere. I'd suggest you to go and see it yourself before speaking out. I've seen them World Cup 2006, World Cup 2010, Euro 2012, Euro 2016 and World Cup 2014. I've seen enough and speaking from experience. You haven't seen anything but still talking without knowing anything.

Why didn't Roma fans attack any Qarabag - Atletico - Shakhtar or Barcelona fans? There were no incident. Why did they attack only English fans?

Do you ever this question to yourself? How do you explain this? I've been asking you for several times and I still didn't get any answer.

Arsenal played against Atletico Madrid in Madrid. Arsenal fans were tweeting nonstop that Spanish cops were beating them with sticks. Want to see a video?

Chelsea played against Barcelona. Chelsea fans were tweeting that police are beating them up in Camp Nou.

You are complaining about Roma fans.

But Roma did play against Atletico and Barcelona. Why weren't there any issues, man? Tell me. What's the denominator of these fights that broke out? Exactly, English fans mrgreen

Let me give you a secret. All the European nations meet in a secret place in Vatican, from Portugal to Estonia, from Poland to Italy, we all agree that European ultra's should only attack to innocent English fans. That's what you guys believe anyway. English fans are innocent.

We invited Panamanians in our meeting, I hope they'll do their job against England in World Cup.

To this day I think most still haven't figured out what exactly he was doing in that legendary chelsea squad.

He was good at FC Porto. He also was part of the squad that won 2004 CL. I havent followed much his career after that.

I've obviously got no skin in this particular game, but I wouldn't be so sure — and this is repeated to me daily at work from Liverpool fans by the way! I think it depends on the early goal(s). If Madrid score 1 or 2 (2 especially), then Liverpool won't recover. Whereas if Madrid go two down, I wouldn't write them off as quickly.

The things you own end up owning you.

Lazio completely self-destructed in 5 minutes....went from comfortable and on top, leading 2-1, to losing 3-2 and a man down within 4 minutes.

Shame, because they play some fantastic football and would have been great in CL next season, but now we have to do with Inter.

Well, all that's left of club football is next Saturday in Kyiv. Hearing people are having big difficulties with accommodation and everything in the city is sold out or extremely priced out. I hope Mane and Salah won't be fasting before the game...

Lol nope. It is standard practice for Muslim players to skip Ramadan on days where they play (or get an agreement with the club to train at 12 AM).

Looks like Mo will be fasting on Saturday. Nothing on Sadio yet.

Well, I hope the fast impacts him in a positive way, so that he's super-focused and "hungry" for goals. Banana

I'm neither a Liverpool nor Madrid fan but been watching Champions League since 1994 and I can say that you can beat Real Madrid at any day but if we're talking about the Champions League final, in one way or another Real Madrid always win that game!
I love what Klopp has done with Liverpool, I love their fast pace, the magnificent trio they have upfront but man...Real is scary in Champions League...

Well... Good for him, however I am not so sure this is a good move.

Like all muslim Senegalese players (at least 15+) where allowed to "postpone" it during the World Cup.

I hope Real wins anyway.

So apparently in 1981 Liverpool beat Madrid and there was a royal wedding. Maybe history will repeat itself.

As for Ramadan I think the whole thing is silly and I think they eat on the downlow, I would.

Don't debate me.

"Innocent English fans" have been attacked by Ukrainian hooligans once again but for some reason, they didn't touch single Spanish fan. mrgreen

https://www.irishmirror.ie/news/world-ne...l-12592718

I still don't know why these Russian-Italian-French-Spanish-Portuguese-Serbian-Argentinian-Brazilian-Ukrainian hooligans are keep attacking our beloved innocent English fans all the time.

When Roma played against Shakhtar, there were no incidents whatsoever in both countries. Now, they attacked innocent English fans even though none of the finalist is Ukrainian team. Shame on you, Ukrainians. Leave our beloved innocent English fans alone mrgreen

Back on the "real" topic here...
Being a fan of AC Milan, it's ridiculous to read news like https://www.uefa.com/insideuefa/about-ue...60573.html
Nobody knows for real how things are going with the new owners since nobody knows for sure who they really are. The so called "president" looks like a facade kind of guy covering someone else with bigger assets.
It's sad that one of the top European teams is in these conditions.

Some common sense at last.

Surprised at how many flights to Kiev have been cancelled in the last couple of days. Hundreds of Liverpool fans unable to make the trip because of cancellations now. Absolute idiots planning to fly on the SAME day as the match...no shit shirtlock.

I've seen people complaining on Twitter today that their flight from Budapest to Kyiv has been cancelled. Just do a car rental, it's only an 11-hour ride and the Champions League final after all.

We're a bunch of very savvy travellers here on this forum, but reading the news in the last few days reminded me how inept most normies are with travel planning.

2 of my friends from London flew to Poland and then to Lviv because I was also in Lviv when I was watching Real Madrid vs Juventus. I told them that Lviv is pretty good.

They took night train from Lviv to Kiev, they're there since Thursday and they said everything worked out perfect. I don't really understand people, who would want to go to Champions League final but try to arrive there same day or day before.

You have to go there minimum 3 days earlier and enjoy the city, get on with the atmosphere. If you try to get there on same day, then you're doomed.
