Slaves were not considered human, either. They were chattel. Nice logic. Try again. And as far as the U.S. census was concerned:

Quote:The census reflected the values of the United States in 1790: “Slaves were counted as three-fifths of a person.

RE: What Are Your Thoughts on Abortion?
A fetus isn't a baby but there is life in there. If there weren't life in what is growing inside a woman, it would not take a specialist (abortionist) to solve the problem by making it go away. Abortion is legal. I believe it should stay legal (sick, but another discussion) but let's all call it homicide and dispense with the "clump of cells" bullshit. Face it head on, stop trying to force society to make choices easy for you. Abortion is supposed to be a tough choice. You chose to end the life growing inside of you because something else was more important. I wonder what was so important. Maybe they had a good reason, let's see it.

The fact that you cannot see such an obvious and elemental analogy, which compares two instances where human beings were considered something other than human (i.e., slaves and unborn children), means that you are not competent to partake in a logical discussion regarding issues of life and death.

So what if there’s life in there? Must everything that has potential life be materialized into a full-blown living organism? By that logic, every time a dude jerks off he becomes a serial killer.

@TailGunner yea comparing slaves to unborn fetuses is real “logical” and “obvious”. So obvious that no one besides you mentioned it. Right on, mate. Keep up the great work.

So, you must have failed science class as well as your course on logic:

Quote:Embryo: The developing individual between the union of the germ cells and the completion of the organs which characterize its body when it becomes a separate organism.... At the moment the sperm cell of the human male meets the ovum of the female and the union results in a fertilized ovum (zygote), a new life has begun....

[Considine, Douglas (ed.). Van Nostrand's Scientific Encyclopedia. 5th edition. New York: Van Nostrand Reinhold Company, 1976, p. 943]

An unborn baby is not potential life. It is new life. An unborn baby has a unique combination of DNA garnered from both parents that has never existed before and will never exist again. An unborn baby is a unique human being from the time of conception. This is very basic biology. It is you who wish to drag the politics of selfishness and personal irresponsibility into the equation.

As to your second point, yes there was a time when half the nation believed that African slaves were nothing more than personal property and non-human in nature -- and the U.S. Supreme Court, in the Dred Scott decision, codified this travesty into national law. The American Civil War forced the entire nation to recognize this national error. The very same thing happened to unborn babies in Roe v. Wade. Until Roe v. Wade, abortion was considered just as heinous an institution as slavery. Learn some history. One day, the nation will look back in horror at the millions of lives lost to abortion, just as it now looks back at the evil institution of slavery.

There was a time on this forum when dudes had no problem telling another guy to encourage an abortion after an accidental pregnancy. Now all of a sudden we have the moral brigade with their sob stories.

I believed in "her body her choice" as a brain-washed highschooler. But this stance totally changed with the Red Pill almost two decades ago and I didn't know why.

It is as if something completely unrelated broke the programming, and all the other stuff came to senses as well. Meanwhile clown world talks about post-natal abortion (abortion after birth).

I ended up with the God Pill at the end, but that was a decade and a half later.

This is the party line we've been sold. I don't believe it. Here is what I think.

I think most people knew African-Americans back then were 100 percent human. But the rich folks wanted the free labor and pressured everyone into "believing" a lie. As such, they devised methods to "de-humanize" slaves, including the 3/5 compromise.

A similar thing is happening today.

I think the oligarchs of today know that this country's borders matter and that people should not be here illegally. But they want the cheap labor, so they find ways to justify it. This time around, instead of de-humanizing the labor, they found a way to silence the naysayers by enacting hate speech laws and changing the culture through media.

Once again, they're pressuring people into believing lies -- specifically, that borders don't matter. 20 years ago few people believed this. Now at least half the country does. This did not happen by accident. Someone put the idea out there. Who? The modern-day equivalent of the people who came up with the idea that blacks were 3/5 of a person.

The rich are really good at disseminating ideas that become the makeshift morality of the populace for no other reason than it lines their own pockets. Whenever any group of people has a belief system that might seem odd, follow the money and you're likely to find out where it comes from.
