10/10

"here we are with Brian and Kat. Brian, nice tie."

I dont think Mr Brand liked his puke green tie over light blue shirt combo.

Possibly part of the show as well. Brand is a showman. He always presents the same persona and they had to expect something like that. If anyone with an American English accent said the stuff he does (basically an endless rant of sardonic quips), it would not have the same effect. Might come across pissed off if anything.

British guys can get away with a certain personality. I really don't see the big deal with it.

You seriously think that this wouldn't work without the accent? How much do you really want to nitpick. Of course part of the reaction is because its a show, that does not take away from the alpha attitude.

Your not giving Brand enough credit. Bill Murray comes to mind as another person who is very quick witted and has a very random personality. Some people are born amazing entertainers and Brand is slowly growing on me.

Here is a good vid of him interviewing some Westboro Baptist Church members:

I never particularly liked him too much because of his voice and accent, but I have new found respect for RB after watching this interview. One must wonder, though, whether some of that was scripted or whether it was completely open interview. If this was improv on his part, then I am trully impressed by his quick wit, comments and holding (and shifting) the frame of the conversation. At the same time, I am horrified that people like them (the hosts) actually get on TV without a teleprompter.

Brand is a very intelligent man, it's not always obvious from the character he plays in public appearances, he's very quick witted. Nothing in this interview says scripted to me, although he's probably dealt with hundreds, if not thousands, of people along these lines and knows their patterns and how to interrupt them.

If you watch some of his other interview videos, he often goes 'active' when they ask questions, and turns them around so that the hosts have to qualify themselves to him.

I wouldn't want be him, but I'm sure as hell learning a lot from him.

I like Brand, but his wit is basically standard for an Englishman. Nothing too special about it, except it's rare in America. I don't see why it's being touted as this big deal.

He sort of reminds of a younger Sebastian Horsley. I was always a big fan of Horsley and wish he would become better known in America.

While I do find Brand to be brilliant, I think that video really shows how dull news presenters are in this country.

I think Brand's manner is quite confrontational and in your face, not a typical English trait. His wit is above standard for sure, but it is this confrontational and authentic (non drunk) element that British people can often lack which I think wins him points for being quite unique.

Brand is an exceptionally eloquent man, and has the most fearless game I've ever seen.

However, many on here would vehemently disagree with his extreme socialistic political leanings. Although, I'm sure his views on women would find a home here.

The things you own end up owning you.

RE: 8 minutes of pure alpha
Brand has already been condemned for the MSNBC appearance by a feminist at the Guardian:

"If only Russell Brand could use his cleverness for more than humiliation
The star's car-crash interview on MSNBC's Morning Joe showcased his talents – and his penchant for lazy sexism

...

Brand has got form when it comes to humiliating women – his previous maverick media exploits have included detailing the sex he had with a young woman on her grandfather's voicemail, remember – and he really goes for it here. Brzezinski makes a hash of presenting, but Brand goes way below the belt (ahem) when he smirkingly suggests she wants to wank him off.

Ha ha, you have a uterus. Ha ha, you have tits. Ha ha, you're a lady so I bet you want to touch my cock.

It feels odd to accuse Brand of laziness when he's so obviously energetic, but that's exactly what this kind of dull sexism is: lazy. Writing on Thatcher for the Guardian, his criticism of her seemed to revolve around what an unloving mother she must have been.

He's got much better material than this, so I can only assume that he doesn't think a female opponent is worthy of his full comic majesty. (He allegedly didn't think his ex-wife was worthy of more than a text message to inform her he was divorcing her, so maybe there's a theme.)

That old sexist Samuel Johnson said a woman's preaching was "like a dog's walking on his hind legs. It is not done well; but you are surprised to find it done at all." Brand is a kind of vertical hound himself: the rock star reprobate image is so well played, anything clever he says is applauded wildly for its novelty. But he is clever, and rather than letting him deploy that smartness as a tactic to ambush people, maybe we should ask him to be clever enough to treat women as people more of the time."

The worst part are the comments sections. The Guardian censors its comments like mad. If we started commenting on there to counter the feminist propaganda most of the messages would be deleted.

The irony is that the newspaper has a special section called "Comment is Free" but the comments are censored there too.

The Guardian is on it's knees financially I hear. However, it wouldn't surprise me if it turned out the BBC part-funded it. They have a very cosy relationship. As for the paper itself, with the exception of it's decent sports section, it is only read by Metropolitan, urban types. I believe the American term is SWPL!

Excellent, the other dude got schooled and tried a low ball insult with the "I can't understand what you are saying" line.

Do people actually watch that show?

RE: 8 minutes of pure alpha
From the beginning: "he is famous, that's what they say, I don't know I'm not really into pop culture"

This is bullshit, she knows a lot about Russel and has a ridiculous crush on him,
which is why she tries to fake it but fails horribly.

Why do they keep saying "him" or "he" even though he is there with them?

The blonde chick was sitting in a puddle as soon as Russel said
"that's a low cut dress I'm only fresh and blood I got instincts"

This is what happens when females don't meet real men on a regular basis

When they actually meet an alpha they get stupid and can't even talk,
the beta dude calls her a "strong woman" while she is mumbling and thinking about blowing the shit out of Russel

They even nicknamed him "willie"

It's always funny to see grown woman acting like teenagers in front of a famous guy who had his shares with the ladies.

Another proof that the hamster never stop

Malehamster

RE: 8 minutes of pure alpha
this morning joe interview is the best live display of so called alpha male behavior.

i wanted to point it out because from what i see many times is that people label alpha label with the most aggressive belligerent mean cocky and irreverent behavior which is flawed perspective in my humble opinion.

to me it's the most diplomatic charismatic leader who wins all. aka.. the guy who can lead people, who can shut up when it's beneficial, who can disarm aggressors, who can dissipate the potential argument in non confrontational way, who can charm others into his way of thinking, who can deal with prejudiced bitches, who can appreciate something about every woman around, who can get along with other men, who can dominate the situation and leave with saved face, etc.

in short a man who can deal with the situation effectively and diplomatically which russell brand does flawlessly and consistently.
