RE: Best NBA Player
Guys kill me with this "no comptetion" argument regarding Wilt/Russell.

First of all, there were only 8-10 teams in the league during the 60s yet they still played the same amount of games. Wilt, Russell, Nate Thurmomd, Willis Reed, Walt Belamy, Jerry Lucas. All Hall of Fame big men. I heard guys like Oscar Robertson, Jerry West, and Elgin Baylor were pretty decent, too. The average height of centers in the 60s was 6'10", by the way

Then look at the current crop of centers. The closest thing you have to a true, well rounded center is Brook Lopez and this guy can't even out rebound Kris Humphries. Are you forgetting how Yao used to embarrass the fuck out of Dwight "Super Athlete" Howard on a regular basis? Wilt was 7'1" with a 40"+ vertical and the endurance to average over 48 minutes/game in a season. Someone posted a video recently of an interview where Arnold Schwarzenegger is talking about how Wilt used to lift him off his feet with one hand.

I'm not saying Wilt is the GOAT but trying to discredit his accomplishment with this misinformed regurgitation about the comptetion levels in the NBA from era to era is lame. Wilt was a freak of nature who went up against Hall of Famers nightly. Imagine if he hadaccess to the same training, nutrition, and HGH these guys are using today.
