Brose, what are your thoughts on checking out Humboldt Park for daygame? I'm intrigued by the high big booty Puerto Rican chica contingent but I also am hesitant to visit that neighborhood since it's pretty ghetto and has an extremely high violent crime rate.

RE: Chicago Datasheet - 3 Months in the Making
I'm currently on my last full day here in Chicago and I figured I'd post my initial thoughts on being here for the past 48 hours or so.

Day Game-I know some guys have mentioned Magnificent Mile, but I found it to have too much foot traffic for my liking. I actually had a better time chatting up people on the streets of River North or anywhere along the Chicago River where people tended to congregate. I went both direct and indirect and people were generally receptive my opener, although as I'll explain in a bit that doesn't mean much in Chicago since people are just generally friendly and easygoing.

Night Game-There are many different neighborhoods for night game, but I went out in Wicker Park and Old Town. Wicker Park didn't seem to have nearly as many attractive girls as Old Town, but it's a more hipster and alternative scene anyway. The Old Town strip of bars on N. Wells St. had a WASPier, suburban crowd but definitely better-looking and better-dressed (by American standards anyway) women. I did check out Lakeview/Wrigleyville after a Cubs game yesterday and some of the bars had pretty decent talent.

Girls-If you're coming from somewhere like New York, there will be a definite drop-off but not too harsh if you're talking about white women. I didn't see too many attractive women of other races but that was probably a product of where I was going out. Almost every girl I approached (and that's around the neighborhood of 50-70 daytime and night time within the past 48 hours) would at least entertain my opener and pay me some attention. However, I got the sense that they were just being friendly and had no real interest in me romantically. In other words, almost none of the girls I talked to were engaged (lack of IOI's) and just liked to talk for the sake of it. I'm going to figure out what I can do to mitigate that issue since I often have a hard time turning on girls anyway, but I can't create attraction where there isn't any I suppose.

One thing I will mention is that hardly any guys seem to approach. Girls are often left alone in the bars, which makes it easy to chat them up at least. Another thing I've noticed is that there seem to be a decent amount of black guys with white women who are least 6 in looks, which I hardly ever see in New York. Since being here I've seen about 5-10 different couples with that pairing. However, I wouldn't get your hopes up as a black guy since this is still the USA.

(08-01-2013 10:41 AM)Cyclone Wrote:  Lincoln Park: Lincoln Park is a semi-classy, antique neighborhood filled with successful lads in their mid-20’s, scenic bars, and features a university campus that cuts through Lincoln Ave which is where most of the venues are. The girls are least receptive here, for reasons I can only guess at - no one expects to get “picked up” here; overall my approaches are met with confusion, and hooking up seems to only happen between mutual connections and such. However, it’s neutral tone may be appealing with a combination of sporty/classy/dirty venues, and it does have the best food out of all districts making it a great spot for dates. Just prepare to need a lot of rapport before getting any action.

It's been exactly 2 weeks since I moved to Lincoln Park. Very nice neighborhood, chock-full of amenities (beaches, world-class parks, awesome free zoo, Lake Michigan, university) but I am very glad you had the same experience that I have had thus far.

The vibes here just aren't particularly good, lol. Very fratty, social circle-oriented, and DePaul University has a really bad vibe, as well (it's half drunk frat boy vibe, half SJW vibe).

My other beef with LP is that it's almost all white girls. Can a brother (well, ummm, a white brother) get some big booty chocolate and caramel women, por favor?!

The vibes in Lakeview, Wicker Park, the Near North Side (especially the Magnificent Mile), and Evanston are noticeably better. However, as the last guy suggested, sometimes the Mag Mile can have foot traffic to a fault. It's that good. Not a big fan of WP, though, since it's mostly white hipster women and it's in an inconvenient spot logistically, since it's camped out on the west side.

At least, LP a really nice neighborhood, close to other key neighborhoods, very safe, and I'm a 4 minute walk to the free zoo which is the ultimate day 2 spot. So it's no biggie. But I will definitely be doing the bulk of my approaches in other neighborhoods.

What are the best spots to check out in Chicago for Halloween? Looking for a fun scene with big booty shorties who are down for the dong. None of this Lincoln Park or Boystown nonsense with 30 guys for every 1 girl. I don’t want to feel like I’m back in Los Mangeles.

Check out Slippery Slope and the East Room in logan square

Prysm might be decent, but there’s cover and its pricey

Hangge Up if college sloots are your thing

Old Town Pourhouse has the best girl to guy ratio and plenty of sets to open. Best bar to game as theres like no music and theres plenty of bars in the area you can bar hop w the chikas

uhrig, wow, thanks for the recommendations, man! Smile I’m very close to The Gold Coast and Old Town so that’s great.

I’d throw you a “like” but the forum is stuck in mobile mode.

uhrig and any other Chicabros,

As epic as the Magnificent Mile is for daygame, what other spots would you recommend? I do like switching things up from time to time. I also really like downtown Evanston but it’s a 50+ minute commute for me. Of course the loop is great too.

Now that its cold, it may be a little difficult to day game. The loop area is difficult as everyone is working during the week and are only outside the office for lunch. Loop area is also dead during the weekend. You may be able to catch a couple tourists (US and Foreign) around the Willis Tower area. At this time of the year, The Bean is your best bet for day gaming. If you go a bit west from the area (Jackson Ave), you'll be by the DePaul Downtown Campus, lots of hbbs roaming around.

I usually day game at Starbucks, either way women are hardly approached in Chicago and tend to be really receptive.

If you're an NY/LA even Miami/Vegas guy you can easily use that in Chicago to your advantage. The problem with Chicago is that it's simply not an "evocative" city & this is obvious when you're there even one hour.

Goddammit, the site is still stuck for me on mobile mode and won't let me switch to desktop mode, so I can't quote or like posts.

uhrig, I'm noticing the streets emptying out a bit. Kind of disappointing but I'll keep on trucking. Thanks for The Beans and Jackson Ave. recommendations!

americanpit, that's really sad that's the case. As someone who has lived in three of those cities you've mentioned (Chicago, NYC, and LA), I can confirm that Los Mangeles is a cultural and logistical dumpster fire. I guess it picks up cache due to Hollywood, or as it's more accurately being dubbed now, Pedowood. Bryan Singer and Kevin Spacey say hi!

Allow me to leave this gem from the late, great GManifesto:

RE: Chicago Datasheet - 3 Months in the Making
Here's the thing about LA, you have to present a stylish image there, be outgoing, be interesting. Know your rising sign. lol. Most guys simply aren't naturally like this. The competition is through the roof, but people don't care so much about where you went to college, it's acceptable to be single past 30 & not looked at like some sort of nerd or closet gay, which is how cities most are (outside of whatever the trendy urban neighborhood is which can be rather insufferable in the typical American city since they ridiculously try to overcompensate for not being seen as impressive). It's a constant effort to curry favor with the locals. I personally think that's annoying to navigate. In Chicago people will literally tell you to leave town if you don't think they have the best food or beer or whatever.

LA (SoCal in general) is an instant status boost in the US & across the world. NY, Las Vegas, Miami as well, although not to the same level. What do these cities have in common,

I sort of want to move back there, simply got tired of paying extravagant rent prices.

To add more...

Underground, Studio Paris, the Mid

Those are top 3 clubs in Chicago in terms of prestigious and ratchet/cuntness. They are also in order as Underground the hardest to get into.

After then it is maybe soundbar (a lot of Asians as mentioned earlier) and bottled blond (cheap, but high quality cute blondes all the time). Soundbar is usually packed as fuck. It also has several different types of DJs in different locations. It has basement floor and first floor. Basement usually plays hiphop and first floor usually plays electro, so you can change your floor to change your music throughout the night.

Prysm is dead although it's ran by same management as the Mid. It had decent amount of Hispanics there for some reason. They didn't have covers when I went there couple times, but I might have been lucky.

Spybar is a hit and miss, it's not even full most of the time.

Humbard. The entire street is all night game bars/clubs.

Best looking girls are in River North and especially Old Town, but as someone noted, they're pretty stuck up around there, and my patience for stuck-up women is about ][ this thin.
Viagra Triangle (in Rush Street) is still what it is. Kind of the worst of River North materialism.
Wicker Park has really changed, it's become quite expensive and less hipster.
The new hot hipster areas are Logan Square and Pilsen.

TBH the entire city is gentrifying and densifying, and rent is getting pricey as hell. I just ditched my car because it was too much trouble keeping it around. It's easier to use a combo of Divvy bike sharing, Uber car sharing, Car2go rentals, the El, occasional buses, etc.

FWIW my favorite club is Nacional 27, but then again I love Latin girls and dancing. Going there is like taking a trip to Latin America for $25.

For theaters, the Vic is probably the best place to see a concert, as well as to mix wit da ladies. I've been eyefucked there.

In summer, just stroll up and down the lakefront from Oak Street Beach up to Fullerton. If you're in good shape and force yourself to be somewhat outgoing, something will happen. I recommend playing Frisbee or football or something on the expanse of grass where Fullerton meets the lake. IME girls always seem to be receptive in that spot, at least to me. Good vibes.

Per bgbusiness's post from late last year & your post, it seems that Chicago nightlife hasn't changed a tremendous amount from the era I was partying pretty heavy out there (especially circa 2007-2012). River North / Old Town / Gold Coast trended towards hoity toity & stuck-up vibes back then too. Main difference seems to be that it is getting more expensive over time! I do know some nightclubs have come & gone though. Somehow I guess those high-end places like Underground remain (Studio Paris & Mid seem like newer additions this decade). Soundbar has been there forever now it seems like. Anyone remember the old Le Passage off of Rush Street that closed years ago? I guess that's an example of a higher end spot that had its run & ended up closing its doors. Also a recent article that I read seems to indicate that Chicago nightclub empresario Billy Dec is slowly divesting himself out of the nightclub stuff & getting more involved with Asian fusion restaurants lol. Plus he is splitting more time with a new pad & biz ventures in Nashville, TN.
