I hope so. I don't plan to go there, but it seems like its getting better for the people there.

Most people in my country (Croatia) are for some reason still in love with Gadaffi and most current or deposed dictators, claiming that the Libyan people are starving now and that everything was better before when someone ruled with an iron fist, etc etc. I think it comes from a fanatic and blind opposition to anything the USA does. If president Obama told them to not jump of the roof, they'd do it out of spite.

What happened in Libya was not about spreading democracy or freedom or some other bullshit like that. It was bout getting rid of Qadaffi. Not because of something he did in the past, but because he wanted to switch to selling oil and gas for Euros instead of Dollars. We tried to pretend it was about spreading freedom, but really all we did was aid and abet the ethnic cleansing of an entire country.

I am really disappointed with this episode. Couldn't even watch the whole thing, even though Anthony Bourdain is one of my favorite TV show presenters. It's clear that this is only one side of the story. Everybody's foaming at the mouth telling how awesome it is that they killed Gaddafi, how great the life is now... yet people blow shit up and keep fighting each other.

I really liked his show "No Reservations" when it wasn't on CNN: more independent thinking, more counterculture, no propaganda, just eating, drinking, smoking and having a great time with locals. On CNN, it looks like Bourdain has sold out to the puppet masters running the mass media. What a crock of shit.

I find him less interesting when he covers places I don't want to go to.
