Ashton Kutcher Says some Serious Shit

This actually makes a ton of sense.

The first point, of opportunity essentially being made up of hard work, is really hard to disagree with. Even the second thing, I completely agree with. I think that's actually the point Roosh sought to make with his book series and blogs- improving and developing yourself is the real "game," the real sexy. Anything else is just marketing. That's literally what Ashton says. And the third comment? Isn't that what our forum is about? Building your own frame, your own life, rejecting the sedatives society gives us to sleep at night and paving your own fucking way?

I am BY NO MEANS an Ashton Kutcher fan but this was mildly inspiring, totally worth 4 minutes, and changed the life of not even a single attention whore wailing in idyllic bliss during the speech. I think this could almost be described as red-pill.

And before you ask....

No I wasn't watching the kid's choice awards.

meh........nice pep talk, but really ironic that he is giving this speech on a network whose sole purpose is to labotomize kids into a lifetime of consumerism.

would have been much more impressed if he told the network, "fuck off, I am spending that evening helping some disabled army vets."

Well, yeah, he's not Mahatma Ghandi. It was still pretty profound from someone whom I was fairly certain couldn't manage more than "whoa" or "dude."

RE: Ashton Kutcher Says some Serious Shit
I just caught an interview with Kutcher on Charlie Rose last week. He was talking about the Jobs movie obviously, but he had some good insights about the nature of society.

Towards the end of the interview he says to the effect that, people in general seek comfort. They look for more of what already exists, but the nature of innovation is such that it inherently presents something new and this creates *discomfort*.

He connects it to politics to point out how politicians are incentivized only to create comfort, in order to get reelected. So he implies that democracy by its nature tends gradually to squelch innovation. I think he's right.

I don't know his politics, but the interview suggests he has libertarian leanings.

Inane Ashton Kutcher story

When I went out to Cali last summer, the Steve Jobs flick thats about to come out was being filmed. My friend has a couple family members that work on the movie so we went on the set and watched them film a couple scenes.

There was some downtime after one of his takes and he kind of flipped out on the director and some other people near him. The problem was, the scene was supposed to take place in 1983 or '84, Ashton noticed some folder holders and stapelers, according to him, couldn't have been made anytime prior to 1985.

"I mean, what the fuck are we doing here! He said in a raised voice "if you aren't going to do it right then why fucking bother!"

He made a valid point, and his heart was in the right place, but he was wrong. The guy in charge of making sure all the props were of the right time period looked it up and said the stapelers and folder holders were made in 1982.

Other than that little outburst he was a cool guy. He kept to himself between takes and stood around with his arms crossed.

Kutcher started out as a teen model, and built himself into a major Hollywood player behind the scenes at a pretty young age.
