RE: Belarus
Belarus is pleasant, you still have some white god factor there, something on the levels of rural Ukraine. Russia v useful, but just speaking a little will get you by. Mine is quite poor but still managed to get some notches in Minsk, Gomel, and Vitebsk.

Overall, a good place for girls but these cities get boring very quickly

@Beirut, it depends what your passport is. Mine is either USA or EU depending on how I fly into Belarus and i don't get asked. Actually whats interesting last time (couple weeks back in july) i forgot to buy health insurance for belarus and just presented my russia health insurance at Minsk airport and passport control accepted that as well. I guess they are more leniant with Americans Smile

I have a EU passport (German) so I think Im good. Worst case I go online and book one on the spot. Health insurance can be obtained at the airport I read several times.

RE: Belarus
So crossing the border from Poland would not be an option?

Has been discussed before. Only with visa, not on the visa-free scheme
