It turned me off to red sauce almost completely. Tomato based has been played out forever.

Fuck these thought police. So if the guy doesn't want two men getting intimate in his commercial now he has to face boycotts. This gay shit is getting out of control. I don't even cook pasta home but i'll buy a box anyway.

RE: Barilla pasta president under attack after gay comments
A female friend of mine posted this on Facebook, and stated she wouldn't be buying Barilla anymore. I chimed in that first off, the question was a set up. Guido Barilla answered honestly, and I stated further that pretty much EVERY CEO of ANY other company would agree with what Barilla said, and his opinion probably jibes with most individuals. Corporations and corporate sponsors don't want their products associated with anything gay. That's pretty much fact. There's no right or wrong of it. It just is in corporate culture. I'll admit it stings when you hear it from the mouth of someone that makes these kinds of decisions, but that's how it is.

I remember Rosie O'Donnell's fight with her magazine publisher, Hachette. When she had her morning talk show, Rosie NEVER made any mention of her sexuality, or dealt publicly with issue affecting the gay community. Why? Middle America isn't going to watch it, and no one is going to buy ad time and have their products associated with that, because folks will back off of your products. It's sad, but it's the truth. Rosie herself knew that (though behind the scenes, everyone that knew and worked with her knew the deal regarding her sexuality. No one outed her or whispered about it). Once she decided she was getting out of the morning tv game, all of a sudden her sexuality was front and center, promoting gay family cruises, and various LGBT issues. She went to her publisher and wanted the magazine to focus more on gay issues. They told her FUCK NO. We aren't in it to publish a gay magazine. Magazines rely heavily on ad revenue, which would dry up. She sued, but lost.

The WNBA dealt with the same issue with the gay community. A large part of their fan base is lesbians, and that community wanted the league to publicly embrace and market directly to them. The league said FUCK NO. Why? Even though the league is largely supported by the NBA (though a couple are independently owned), they needed corporate sponsorship to supplement. Those corporations run for the hills if they're attached to a "gay" league, even though everyone knows there's a large percentage of lesbians playing in the league. The LGBT community has to be content with simply enjoying products they like, without being recognized in advertising. Just like certain companies don't feature non-whites in their ads. If you're bothered by it, you can withhold your dollars (it's pretty much the only way, other than voting, that the average citizen can speak and be heard).

Well, predictably, they caved and apologized to the cathedral:

Their competitor, Buitoni, took advantage of the situation and published an ad featuring homos. I certainly will not be buying anything from those groveling cunts.

This is why I love Chik-Fil-A. They make no apologies for their position. They also hire very polite, good-looking girls at most of their stores.

I've been the recipient of about 50 meals cooked by women I was dating in my life, and I think about 5 of them were pasta, similar to how often I'd use it.

50 is a lot. I can count on two hands how many times a white girl has cooked for me, and it's never been good. The girls cooked things far LESS complicated than pasta and managed to fuck it up.

Asian girls are always quick and enthusiastic to cook for me, and it's always been good.

@HCE ok fair enough but you live outside the US, no?

The only time a woman ever cooked for me was after I moved to Russia...girls cook breakfast or dinner for me many times here. Never happened not ONCE in 20+ years of dating in the US. I don't even remember LTRs really cooking for me either, and if they ever did it was once or twice max.

Yep, I'm in Croatia, and my comment pertained to Croatian and Czech girls. I've also dated Australian and Slovenian girls, but they never cooked for me.

That said, it would be too rash to assume that Croatian girls cook or clean for their guys with any regularity. The case I'm talking about is nice, but it's not so usual. We're not Ukraine or even close to it.

p.s. buy Barilla, don't buy Buitoni. Got it. Will try Barilla at the first opportunity.

I am definitely buying Barilla now if I see it. So sick of these PC media white knights' knee-jerk attacks on reasonable opinions offered up by people. More and more I think the mainstream press are quite possibly the biggest part of the problem these days.
