Lightbulb What's your favorite classical music?
Any classical music or composer you listen to during study or work, that inspires you for your game, that has a soothing effect on you before you get some sleep, or perhaps an aphrodisiac effect during your date? This could be Film music, opera or choir music, etc.

Post it here.

Dvorak's New World symphony is particularly inspiring to me. I also appreciate Verdi's Nabucco.

The New World Symphony, was composed by Antonín Dvořák in 1893 during his visit to the United States from 1892 to 1895. My favorite part is IV. Allegro con fuoco 31:29

"Fart, and if you must, fart often. But always fart without apology. Fart for freedom, fart for liberty, and fart proudly" (Ben Franklin)

RE: What's your favorite classical music?
Without any doubt, my favorite is Radetzky March, also commonly known as the staple of the New Year concert in Vienna:

Beethoven - Moonlight Sonata

Vivaldi - Four Seasons - Winter

Handel - Sarabande

And finally Boccherini - La Musica Notturna della Strade di Madrid (also famous for being the theme song of the movie Master and Commander)

I really liked Chopin's Nocturnes, amongt many others.

The second symphony by Sibelius also sets the mood for a real winter scene.

I'm a simpleton when it comes to classical music, but I really dig The Planets by Gustav Holst.

Tried playing this when I was younger. Always sounded very regal to me.

One of my favorite Lizst. So delicate but difficult.

Very sinister and thematic.

Verdi's Requiem.

I sang it at school.

It never gets old.

Music RE: What's your favorite classical music?
I recently discovered this little gem: High Heels, by Italian pianist Ludovico Einaudi.

Excellent background music with a glass of wine.

If I could listen to anything for five minutes before dying, it would be this:

This piece, by Agustin Barrios, is pretty sick. Williams does it very well.

RE: What's your favorite classical music?
one of my all time favorites: the soundtrack of the Hunt for Red October. Makes me want to sing in a damn choir! I wonder what the lyrics say (in Russian)

I like my classical like my morning coffee; unapologetically dark.

This isn't technically classical due to when it was made, but its very similar style wise.

RE: What's your favorite classical music?
There is a lot of good stuff already.

I am surprised that no one has posted anything from Carmen. It's very red pill.

Quote:... tells the story of the downfall of Don José, a naïve soldier who is seduced by the wiles of the fiery Gypsy, Carmen. José abandons his childhood sweetheart and deserts from his military duties, yet loses Carmen's love to the glamorous toreador Escamillo, after which José kills her in a jealous rage.

Back in my heyday this was in my rotation of repertoire. I did a master class with Sharon Isbin and performed it in front of about 5000 people. I can probably still bang out about 90% of it but I'm way out of practice.

Lots of good shit on here, I'll post a few when I get home.
