Puerto Rico rundown?
I've been interested in Puerto Rico for a while, and somehow it seems like with all the Latin American travelling around here, I hear almost nothing about it.

Obviously the beaches and resorts are what any tropical beach vacation spot would be, but what about the cities? And do regular, non-elite Puerto Ricans go to the same beaches as tourists? I'd assume not, but I don't know.

What's life like down there? I've had experience in Mexico and Colombia, and I would assume that the general standard of living and crime situation is about the same. What's it like chilling with Puerto Ricans in Puerto Rico? I can't imagine it'd be boring or calm.

What's the deal there? Anyone got some experience?

I was thinking about going here to game but after some research realized it isnt a place for white guys to go to get maximum value. The dudes are very alpha and stiff competition. The females prefer the local men, and dont for the most part like regular white dudes.

Although im still gonna hit this place up in the near future. Lots of good concerts takes place in PR every yr soo ill combine some concerts and sarging into a week trip!

RE: Puerto Rico rundown?
I spent 5 days down there recently. Mainly an ill-fated surf trip, but I took in plenty of nightlife.

The biggest game problem in my opinion is just the sheer number of dumb ass gringos there to gamble (san juan esp.) Way too many rich boring americans for my taste, plus the whole island is immersed in american fast food culture. Going to West Virginia is more of an exotic expereince. Most locals speak English so well that if you try to speak to them in Spanish they will just start respond in English.

That said, the people, girls included, are extremely friendly and helpful. I did not encounter a single traveler from anywhere outside the U.S., and the gringos that were here seemed to me to be a different type/caliber of traveler then I encountered in ecuador, panama, and even costa rica. Different in that they almost all seemed to have the 'just stepped off the cruise ship' vibe, which kills it for interesting americans as we are automatically lumped in with that crowd.

It's a shame, many many beautiful women to be had there...

RE: Puerto Rico rundown?
I've spent a fair amount of time in San Juan for my job. I wouldn't go to Puerto Rico for vacation.

I think the women in San Juan are snobby and difficult. They will talk to you but their is an air about them. The women in Puerto Rico I've gotten along best with are the ones who were born and lived in the USA for a significant amount of time. The locals are a different breed. They seem to be high on themselves.

I always stay at the El San Juan Hotel and Casino in the Isla Verde section of San Juan. Wednesday thru Saturday nights there are awesome as it gets packed. There are a few restaurants inside the hotel, a nice big central bar area, and a nightclub called Brava. The women dress to the 9s there but they are usually in groups and with male companions. But damn do they look good. They have a stage in the big central bar area where bands play. I saw the Gypsy Kings play there and numerous Salsa bands. Approaching these women is difficult. Again, they will be polite and speak but will rapidly return to their clique. Unfortunately, there are a number of well dressed women of the night who will gladly separate you from your cash. Just letting you know that this place is frequented by the higher end ladies of the night.

There is a small sports bar a 5 minute walk away called Lupies. Terrible food but a good place to drink and listen to the local live bands they have playing there. This is a blue jeans spot and the women are OK there. Nothing compared to the stunners you will see in the El San Juan but it's easier to game there.

Across the street from Lupies is Chili's. Lots of women like to hang out at the bar but they tend to be on the hefty side.

A 5 minute walk the opposite direction is a hotel called the Water Club. There is a lounge on the top of this boutique hotel and it is a chill spot with nice women who are well dressed but again, they are in their cliques with male companions. It is partly outdoors so you will sweat your balls off if you are there in the summer.

Walking around Plaza de Las Americas mall is good for seeing TONS of eye candy. I've never tried to pick up in the mall but man o man.., it's a feast for the eyes.

There is old San Juan which is a major tourist trap. It is where the cruise ships docks so they have all the business that cater to that. Many of the locals still hang out at the bars and restaurants there. I would recommend visiting during the day when there are minimal cruise ships docked and enjoy the scenery and chat up the women and some of the single gringos chicks off of the ships.

You can travel to the El Yunque rain forest and climb the "mountain" and listen to the Coqui frogs. I've had single moms hit on me with their daughters. These women had beautiful faces and Oprah Winfrey when she was fat bodies. I'm not trying to be anyone's substitute dad.

Ponce is Puerto Rico's second city. The women are prettier and fitter than in San Juan but still have that island attitude.

A little further to the east of Isla Verde is an area called Carolina. Mostly black and light-skinned mixed black Puerto Ricans in this area. It is very down to earth and on the poor side. A normal mall is good for walking around. Here, the women are very approachable but if your Spanish is weak it will be a hinderence because many here have weak English. Many cuties with nice bodies but most are already mommies.

Like I said, I would never spend my own money on a trip to PR, there are too many better options available. There are lots of hot Puerto Rican babes but there are more fatties with cute faces. If you do go, visit the places mentioned and try to identify the NuYoricans or the Puerto Rican babes who are from the mainland USA and the tourist chicas.

alb3 nice input, thanks.

I never been to PR; but i believe day game should be done here instead of night game, then it also seem that you are more into high class type of women, im more inclined to hood chicks with phat booties, i doubt those are as hard as the others you mentioned or am i wrong?

Thanks for mentioning Carolina, never heard of it, need to hit there soon.

AlB3..I think it is the location you were gaming. I would not expect anything short of what you described from gaming PR girls at the San Juan hotel. It's like gaming women at the Ritz Carlton - what do you expect their attitudes will be like? They feel tehy are above others juts because they set foot in the place and can put on an evening gown.

If you want down-to-earth, and DTF Puerto Rican girls, hit up Ponce...known for its women with incredible J-LO (in her prime) asses!! IME, the women of the south (Ponce) are 10x friendlier and more receptive to game than women of San Juan.

I am extremely surprised the Ponce women gave you attitude...seriously, I am totally shocked! Those were the friendliest of all girls myself and my friends experienced when we went there many blue moons ago.

Alos, if you are a hardcore gringo, there is a stigma to be a bitch to you by default in Puerto Rico. Latin and American Black men actually have it easier with Latin women in Puerto Rico - even Mexican cats who dress stylish (are americanized) will do well. Not sure why Gringos receive little love there - you are the 3rd report I get like this from a non-hispanic dude in PR. (I'm guessing you are not latin..)

That was 100% my experience. There are tons of bars and clubs around the main downtown square and decent priced hotels within easy and safe walking distance. I only got to spend 1 night there, but the girls I talked to were friendly and interested in meeting me.
Other than Ponce, no place I went to was really worth mentioning in terms of nightlife.

I felt Puerto Rican women were horny and aggressive. I was getting cat called, saw other dudes being cat called, had chicks walk up and go direct on me in clubs, and have (cute/hot) girls purr "guapooooo" at me while walking by.

I'm ethnically Asian. Not sure if this made a difference. I definitely got the vibe that I had an exotic factor going on of some kind.

It is entirely possible that they were all pros. I have no clue - since I had my hands full with my girlfriend and my crew of gringo college buddies, I didn't exactly pursue any of them.

Ha, I consider myself not bad looking. I'm not one to swagger or boast about my looks or game - both of which I consider not too remarkable.

Also my girl at the time was really sexy. Jealousy plotline maybe.

Latin American women in general are less racist than other women. They definitely have preferences for certain looks, but they are merely preferences, and they're not like girls from other groups who sometimes will completely eliminate a man from consideration just because he's of some particular race. Remember, Latin Americans are pretty mixed up, so race isn't as important. However, culture and religion can still make a big difference.

Anecdotally, I've met more Latin chicks that have a thing for Asian guys than chicks from any other group.

I've got the dick so I make the rules.

Best places to scoop up tail in San Juan?

Best places to see live music in San Juan?

Lesser known spots that might be good for tail? Ponce? Rincon?

I'll be in the sticks, but i'll make it to San Juan a few times.

You live there, crank out a data sheet or something, por favor necesitamos informacion.

It depends. The best places to find 18-22yo is in old san juan, condado, and isla verde. But as some have said, most of the girls you'll find there are very wealthy. I recommend those places, but don't head specificly to any bar, just walk through the old san juan at night and you'll see plenty of young women. Most women I know hang out at Brava (which is at the San Juan Hotel), Al Fresco (Caguas), La Ventana (Condado), Shannans Irish Pub (Guaynabo), Heineken Jazz Fest (Condado, it is only done once a month I think).

Any place near a university is a good place to meet women. Unlike the US the majority of the people here commute to uni, but there are a few that still lodge near college. Near the Rio Piedras Campus of the University of Puerto Rico is a street called "Avenida Universidad". That street is filled with people when uni starts. There are a few pubs, the most famous one being "ël ocho blanco" which is kinda cool. However, most people hang out outside.

The thing about here is that it isn't like in the US where you can go to any town or famous street and find many people walking, etc. So there are very few places to "socialize". However, there are many events which are very famous and full of girls. Some of them are:
-"Las Calles de San Sebastian": is an event where old san juan is filled with people partying from thursday 'til sunday. I think that you could find a crowd of about 15,000+ people in old san juan just partying and drinking like crazy. This event is on one of the first few weeks of January. (When I know, I'll post it here). I've met a few girls here and fucked them the same night. Very easy.
-"Las Justas": this is an event (in Ponce or Mayaguez, it alternates between those places) where all the universities compete (swimming, basketball, volleyball, etc.). It was originally a sports event but eventually it has turned into a extreme partying event where you can find up to 5 stages (large stages, like concerts) all with famous artists. And of course the streets filled with drunken women.

(07-29-2011 11:13 PM)redneckpunk Wrote:  Best places to see live music in San Juan?
It depends. Young people here only listen to "Reggaeton". If you go to a place that has live music it won't be filled with hot young women, unless the artist singing is famous. You won't find a salsa, merengue, or jazz bar filled with hot young women.

However, if you go to a place where there's live reggaeton you should learn how to "perriar" if you expect to get some tail. Look it up in youtube "perreo".

Look here http://www.reggaeton947.com/ they make a few nice reggaeton events regularly.

I'll write a bit more later, right now I gotta leave. Huh

RE: Puerto Rico rundown?
Rincon data, if anyone is interested:

I only did San Juan the last night, and was generally let down because it seemed like an expensive tourist trap.

This is a surf village on the west side of the island, can get very touristy in-season dec-april.
There is the town of Rincon, and then the more surfer area-puntas, where I stayed. Cheap food and dollar beers most places.

Bars-Tamboo- on the beach, busy most nights, had a good mix of locals and tourists. I had good luck with decent spanish game here. It is known as a popular tourist/gringo spot, so if a local girl is there, you know what she is probably looking for.

Pools-has a pool at the bar, low key, good food

Casa verde-this place is supposed to be more popular, but were renovating while I was there.

I did not venture too much into the town itself, mostly because I was able to pull the first night and was relaxed on my gaming.I will say that the PR guys were "visually aggressive" across the board, we got looks everywhere, but no physical altercations.

I'd definitely recommend Rincon for beach, surfing, snorkeling. As far as tail goes, I would think that there is a good overall ratio, buy I didn't really try any of the authentic PR spots to be able to say what the prevailing attitude was, however, there is always tourist girl game...

RE: Puerto Rico rundown?
Please take the majority of the info posted here so far with a grain of salt. Here are the facts about Puerto Rico, based on having lived there for 6 months:

1) Life is not like Mexico or Colombia. PR is a US territory, and offers pretty much all the same amenities you'd expect in the US. Yes it's poorer than the mainland, has crappier service, and a shitty school system, but I still wouldn't go as far as comparing it to Mexico or Colombia. It strikes a pretty good balance between being familiar/Americanized but also feeling exotic and noticeably different at the same time.

2) The local men are no more alpha than the average mainland-US guy, nor are they particularly stiff competition. It's just like back home - some guys will be alphas with game, but most won't.

3) The females don't necessarily prefer the local men, and do like white guys just fine. They just don't come across many white guys who aren't the stereotypical obnoxious douchebag tourist, so if you're meeting girls in a touristy area it's possible they might have a shield up. The local girls do tend to think highly of themselves, but that doesn't mean they don't like to fuck. Just play it cool and you'll be fine, but do realize that...

4) Being a gringo will do nothing for you. These girls see white guys running around every day, and many of them have been to the States multiple times or even lived there at some point. So you won't encounter any sort of exotic factor like you might in, say, Colombia (unless you go to the smaller rural towns). Fully expect to bring the same A-game as you'd have to use back home, but keep in mind that...

5) Knowing some Spanish IS important. Despite PR's relationship with the US, you'll come across a surprising number of girls who don't speak English. Also, even the ones who do speak it often don't like to. Plus, the ones who do speak it tend to be the educated ones who have higher morals and don't put out as much. If you want the local hunnies who like to party and get wild and grind their ass on you all night, you're going to need some conversational Spanish.

6) Locals do hang out in the touristy areas, but there are many other places they go to party that tourists rarely hear about. For some reason finding PR party info online is very difficult, and a lot of it is word-of-mouth. One San Juan staple, though, is La Placita. It's a little area with lots of bars next to each other, and turns into a big outdoor block party. Talent is everywhere, and very few tourists. It's only really hopping on Thursday and Friday nights. Go early, around 9 or so.

7) Yes, Puerto Rico sees a large number of the dorky cruise ship crowd, but no one said you have to hang out with them.

8) Yes, there are lots of US fast-food chains, and some local ones. Can you honestly say you're surprised?

9) The local food is awesome, but not at all healthy. Go eat in Guavate (mountain town) on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon - it's a big, pig-scoffing party.

10) The El San Juan hotel is a great place to party, but it's upscale so the women will be difficult. Anywhere else in Isla Verde is garbage, except Drums (which I think may have closed, or perhaps was just closed temporarily).

11) One of the best places to party in San Juan is Shannan's (yes that's how they spell it), but it's a pain in the ass to get to unless you have a car. It's huge, and the number of gorgeous, dolled-up Latinas there can be eye-opening.

12) One-night stands in PR are possible, but rare. This is mainly because people commute from all over the island to San Juan to party, and have to drive/ride home with their friends at the end of the night (sometimes an hour or more away). However, if you get a girl's number and hang out with her a couple of times, you're pretty much golden. Girls will fuck quickly, and fall in love with you quickly, too.

13) San Juan is the spot for nightlife. There's something going on there every night of the week. After that would be Ponce and Mayaguez (large student population), but only on Fridays and Saturdays. There are also quite a few clubs in the Northwest region, around Isabela, Aguadilla, and Aguada, but again pretty much weekends only. Rincon is tiny and has very little going on, so I wouldn't recommend hanging around there at night.

14) Old San Juan is awesome. Yes it's touristy, but for good reason - it's beautiful. There are lots of bars, but many of them are only open or busy around the holidays, basically December and January. Two night spots that tend to have good crowds year-round are Tio Danny's and Lazer. Lazer is very ghetto, but attracts females who like to get down. Music is 100% reggaeton. Fridays are quiet, and Sundays are the busiest night.

15) The San Sebastian festival in January is just okay. It's cool to some degree, but it gets so crowded that it's hard to even walk around. If you love huge crowds you'll like the event, but personally I wouldn't go to PR just for that. If you do go, staying in Old San Juan is an absolute necessity otherwise you just won't get in or out with all the stand-still traffic.

16) There are tourist beaches and locals beaches. In San Juan, Isla Verde beach is all tourists. For locals, go to either Ocean Park (upper class locals) or Escambron (lower class locals). Escambron is prettier with calmer water, but OP is much larger.

17) Crime in PR is not an issue. Yes it exists, but you have no greater chance of running into problems there than any major US city.

18) Medalla is the local beer, and it flows like water. The most popular rum is Don Q. Go to Casa Don Q in Old San Juan for a free drink. Don't go to the Bacardi factory.

19) Puerto Ricans love to party, and will find almost any excuse to do so. The energy on the island is the highest in December and January.

20) In summary, I would say PR isn't the best place to go for a few days if you're hoping to get laid. But if you're looking for somewhere to go for an extended period, it's great. There's also the added convenience of the currency being the same, your cell phone still working fine (assuming you're from the US), and no visa issues to worry about.

Don't believe the negative crap. PR is legit.

Great breakdown lilseezie!

Are you latin, white, or black? What brought you to PR, work ect?

Which clubs or areas will have the sluttiest girls that will be the most DTF?

RE: Puerto Rico rundown?
Thanks. I'm white, and was in PR for an extended vacation and to learn Spanish. I'm back stateside now. I strongly considered staying there permanently, but high-paying work opportunities are very scarce, especially if you're not fully bilingual.

Sluttiest girls? I'd say Lazer in Old San Juan or El Ocho de Blanco in Rio Piedras. However, competition tends to be stiff (and ratios not the best) 'cause the local guys recognize that they're the sluttiest, too.

For the best odds I say stick with Shannan's or La Placita. Shannan's is mostly early 20s. La Placita is pretty diverse, with older and younger crowds depending on the particular bar within the area. It also has an interesting mix of slightly upscale places and regular or divey places, so there's something for everyone.
