I want to reinforce this. I also had the impression that Vietnamese girls are more intelligent than Thai girls and you will have a great time with them if you manage to pull one. Not saying that with Thai girls you won't have a great time - but for my experience, as kdog mentioned, I also thing they are cooler (hotter it really depends IMHO).

When I went to SEA, I stayed in BKK and Hanoi. One week in BKK + one week in Hanoi + another week in BKK. Thai girls seem to really want something more serious, want to get married and have kids. But it seems you must have money - and they love complaining about thai guys, saying things like "thai men are lazy".

In BKK got like 5-6 lays and in Vietnam just one. But this one which I met on Tinder, two days before I was supposed to leave. On the first date nothing happened. On the second, she came to my hotel, we spent the night over there and in the following day, she booked a flight for us to Da Nang and managed to pay everything (flight + hotel + food + taxi). It was one of the greatest experiences I've ever had with a woman in a trip. Like, been able to go to Da Nang, Hoi Ann without speaking any Vietnamese and she taking care of everything (even financially) was simply great. And yeah, she was someone which was very cool to be with.

I really want to go back there tbh Smile

The Vietnam / Thailand debate depends on your situation. I have lived in both countries, so I'll give my 2 cents.

There for a short term trip and seeking multiple bangs?
Thailand will be unquestionably the better option for 99% of guys. While there are a lot more foreigners there, the girls there have a more relaxed viewed about sex / hooking up.

Vietnamese girls are better looking imo, but are generally more long-term oriented. It's not impossible to get laid on a short term trip, just much less likely than Thailand.

It also depends on your personality - check out both places ideally and see which one vibes with you.

Thailand (BKK) is more modern (transport, accomodation) and an easier transition for those coming from the west - it also has a better nightlife scene.

Vietnam (Saigon) is much less developed and offers more of a cafe culture - you'll need to ride a bike there to get around too, which I have grown to like, but it puts off some people.

It seems to me you are better off in Vietnam. Why do you want to go to Thailand while a trip to Vietnam costs equal time and money for you?

Hahaha, most definitely, logically speaking, I should just stick to Vietnam, since the ladies there are naturally more beautiful (in my opinion), have better figures, loyal and more obtainable for me there. (I have banged a 7 and had another Vietnamese 7 as an ex).

But you know, we men are hunters and conquerors, and as George Mallory once asked why he wanted to climb Mt Everest, replied "Because it's there". It's a kind of conquest and challenge, especially when many others claimed that Bangkok is easier than Vietnam.

Personally, I did tell myself if I had 0 notches for this trip, I'm just going to drop BKK altogether and just stick to Vietnam. I might give BKK 1-2 more shots, let's see.

I would honestly stick to Vietnam. Thailand is overplayed now and way too commercial. Vietnam chicks are way hotter and cooler to hangout with anyway. All bars and clubs are open, business as usual. Maybe a little less people. Ce la vi + Mixx combo (Ladies night) was great this wednesday.
If somebody want to hang out, send me PM.

Anyone know if condo office's are likely to be open on a Sunday?

Looking for a place and don't want to waste time going if they'll all be closed

Most closed on Sundays, but not all.

If you want to buy a new condo, then sales office is likely open Sunday.
But if you are looking to rent in an established building -- construction finished -- likely not open Sunday.

I have two mobile phones: one AIS, the other TRUE.
Both reliable, clear signals throughout Bangkok.

You can buy a SM card at the airport, but no benefit in doing that.
Every shopping center -- large and small -- will have shops selling sim cards.

Bring your passport and the business card of your hotel/guest house.
All SIM cards in Thailand must be registered.

Yes it will raise suspicion and there are plenty of postings on travel forums about that problem.

Better options for long term stay:

1. "Student" visa you can be any age.
Not limited to college student age.
"Student" visa mostly used by those claiming they are here to study Thai language.
There are some language schools in Thailand specializing in this sort of visa for longer stays.
Some of those schools actually hold classes.
Some of those students actually do study the language.
But I've read on expat forums that after about 6-12 months on a "student" visa, immigration officers want to have a conversation with you, in Thai language.

2. The "Thailand Elite" card/visa allows longer stays.
Costs money.
I wouldn't, but you might.
Google for details.

3. If you are age 50+ can easily get a "retirement" visa.
Renew once per year -- cost only US$ 60.
But must show you've got enough money to live on for the year.
Minimum US$ 2,000/month or deposit of US$ 24,000 in a Thai bank account.
You don't have to spend it all, just have it available.

I've had the retirement visa for 10 years, so can answer questions about that.
You're welcome to send PM or email to me.

Excellent questions.

I had TrueMove in my condo for 2+ years.
Perfectly reliable.
But ... it was my personal connection ... direct cable into my unit.
No WiFi sharing.
That's important, because...

If shared WiFi in a condo building you never know what you'll get, until you get there and try it for a few days.

Well, wait a moment, I do know what you'll get.
Not much.
Condo buildings use cheap routers, cheap cables, and cheap technicians to install everything.
In Thailand, "cheap" means really, really, cheap.
And often only one router per floor, when there should be two or three.
Yes, indeed, in Thailand, there is no "cheap", cheaper than "condo cheap".

Plus, others in the condo building are pounding on the WiFi to the maximum.
So, no condo reviews of their WiFi?
Of course not.
The condo owners do not want reviews.

You mentioned mobile connection.
Good idea.
I've been using that in my new place in Bangkok for the past 4 months.
TRUE Mobile Internet.
Always reliable -- in my location.
Sometimes faster than other times, but plenty fast for email and casual browsing.
Even though my building has free WiFi included in the monthly rent, I still pay extra for my own mobile access.

And, in Thailand, there is no registration and no deposit required for mobile Internet.
Just pay in advance, either by the day, week, or month.
Perfect for short stays.

Rates vary, of course.
I have top speed, unlimited time and data, from TRUE company.
About US$ 25.00 per month.
Works anywhere in Thailand there is a mobile signal.

Agreed.

Good advice from AsiaBaller above.

And any residence that advertises itself as near BTS (skytrain) or MRT (subway) will be considerably higher priced than a similar place not near.

Yes, will save you an enormous amount of time.
And save sweat in the heat and humidity.
And avoid traffic jams and crowded skytrain and subways.

Now I have two TAs.
One comes in every Sunday to do dishes, laundry, clean the bathroom, etc.
The other comes in every Tuesday to do the ironing, dusting and vacuuming, water the plants, and do errands.

In addition, there are excellent delivery services in Bangkok for everything from small appliances (fan, toaster oven, computer printer ink) to foods and household products of all kinds.
Order on-line, in English, and delivery (depending) in 2-3 hours or, most likely, 1-3 days.
I order most groceries and pantry foods on-line.
About the only time I'm in a grocery store is to buy steaks: those I prefer to select myself.

Thanks MRG1946, the unit seems to have its own wifi (own True router). The reviews are on Airbnb so the owner can't control them, seems that nobody bothered to mention the wifi, I'd like to hope it's because it wasn't problematic.

When I was living in Bangkok I used https://www.happyfresh.co.th/

http://delishop.co.th/home/ was also a decent alternative.

Some of the actual stores offer deliver services themselves too, you'll have to see which one are closest to your location.
