RE: Skinny jeans for men: gay or nay?
Anyone doing some serious workout (not cardio/marathon) will have muscles that don't fit into a pair of skinny jeans.

With proper muscular development, skinny jeans should feel too uncomfortable to even attempt to wear.

If you're a skinny guy then they might look ok. But why are you a skinny guy? Do you even lift bro?

I've got the dick so I make the rules.

Men shouldn't be wearing light or even medium blue jeans in the first place no matter the cut, they look completely lame. Jeans should only ever be worn in black or dark blue. Khaki, burgundy and white are acceptable too, although those are better worn as chino's rather than jeans. Women can get away with lighter blues though, so maybe they are indeed more feminine. If any of you have light or medium blue jeans in your wardrobe, throw them out.

I have a huge men's street wear datasheet saved as a draft atm that covers what to look for in a pair of jeans pretty thoroughly. For such a basic item a ridiculous amount of men are wearing them wrong . I'll drop it in a couple weeks when I have the time to finish it.

If you've got to ask someone else if something's "gay" ( what a bunch of frat boys) you need to rethink how independent a thinker you are.

I'd skinny jean the hell out of life if I wasn't fat.

Frat boys say "No homo" in cowed, sheeplike fear, I say "Go Homo!"
just on general asshole principles. (GAP).

Pussies.

No hard feelings bro. My first line in the OP was "no offense".

And you can still wear skinny jeans if you want. Even semi fat chicks wear skinny jeans.

I would say slim cut still have a bit of room for fabric to drape while skinny jeans tend towards skin tight. I read that when hipsters started the trend at first they were wearing girls' jeans.

I can confirm that. I used to work with a couple of guys who were quite open about the fact that they only shop for women's jeans. And no, it definitely didn't get them laid.

Skinny (i.e. skin-tight) jeans are gay. Fitted jeans aren't. You need to have some room for your testes to move.

If the leg opening is too tight to go over my winter boots, then its too skinny.

Slim and skinny are fairly technical terms when it comes to jeans. Not all skinny jeans are skin tight, but all skin tight jeans are skinny. However if you're talking about "skinny jeans" but really mean "skin tight" jeans, use the later term because that is a very important distinction. Men who aren't musicians or artists should never under any circumstance wear skin tight jeans. The jeans in the Russel Brand pic are not skin tight, but they are definitely skinny.

^on closer inspection I'd say that cut is pretty standard for what an ordinary skinny jean is. Note the ripples in the fabric especially on his right knee and ankles (from our POV)

It's very easy to tell what cut a jean is when you buy them, the name/description of the jeans will give it away. i.e the Levi 510's are skinny jeans and Levi 511's are slim jeans. Of course there's more to modern jean cuts then just skinny and slim, don't forget about slim-straight and straight jeans.

Skinny jeans on a male are for gays or eunuchs or both. They are inappropriate on a number of levels for men.

I have been educated. Russel pulls that off, obviously. (Then again, he can pull off a Nazi uniform.) In hipster areas I've definitely seen plenty of the ones (below) that almost look like leggings from afar.

I think Levi's 514s look good. They are called "Slim Straight" and are a little bigger, without that taper that follows the leg.

Still, this thread also needs some pics of the guys who wear the really really tight jeans in shorts... So we can laugh.

If I can count the coins in your pocket, they are not mans pants.

What I wear actually. Never wore any other jeans but Levis in my life. I like how 514 fit, close to the body without squeezing anything.

Even so, they are "slim" enough that I have trouble fishing my keys out of my pocket, and I dont have big hands in any way. I grew up in the 90s where jeans where so baggy we actually smuggled 40oz bottles of beer down our pants legs.

It depends on the weather. I don't know how the fuck guys are able to wear skinny jeans in 115F degree weather.

I can't imagine wearing skinny jeans.

Huge calves. Huge Thighs. Huge balls. Not to mention my hands are so big the pockets would be unusable.

I go for a sophisticated caveman look. Skinny jeans just don't fit the bill.

Grey denim is fine for men as well:

Medium blue denim definitely stay away from unless you want to look corny:

But with the right wash and pairing, you can rock a lighter blue demin:

When I see men in skinny-jeans I immediately question their sexuality. It may just be me, but I tend to be accurate about 80% of the time. Pareto's law I suppose.

Not my thing but it clearly works for some guys in certain contexts. I was in a coffee shop last week and saw this guy, who most here would probably refer to as a "hipster phaggot" or something. He had all the stereotypes piled into one: skinny jeans, buddy holly glasses, beard, nose piercing, and huge tattoos all over his neck and arms. Walked in with a slutty (you could tell) girlfriend who was rather hot, in a raven-haired pornstar sort of way. As Heartiste says, we are living in the age of the "renegade alpha" / sigma. If he didn't have all that crap he'd just be a skinny nerd.

If you squat, a slim will be like the skinny on Russel Brand, at least around the thighs.

Also, consider STRETCH JEANS. I have a pair with 1 or 2% stretch, and it looks like a regular jean but flexes a little when I put them on, and I have big legs and a big ass. Don't knock them until you try them. 3 or 4% stretch is probably too much, kinda jeggings territory.

"Men shouldn't be wearing light or even medium blue jeans in the first place no matter the cut, they look completely lame. Jeans should only ever be worn in black or dark blue. Khaki, burgundy and white are acceptable too, although those are better worn as chino's rather than jeans."

Agree - not that light or medium blue jeans always look bad, but a nice dark wash pair of jeans almost always looks better than light or medium blue. I don't wear black - I think it makes me look washed out, and it's a little too grim looking.

Deluge, do you know any good sources for heathered deep v-neck tees?
