RE: No-Homo Skin Care Tips
I used to have this one spot in my face where acne sprouted from. I soon realized that I had the habit of touching this spot of my face when working. I made myself stop and now the acne is gone.

Good tips everyone. It makes sense to change out your pillow case regularly, never thought about it.

Shanefalco - you're saying products with only 2.5% benzyl peroxide work better than 10%? What problems come from 10%? There's a cream I use from walgreens and I can't use it every night or my face feels real dry, gotta do it every other night.

Does anyone else get back pimples? Its pretty much the same for me as my face. Its a lot more blemishes than actual pimples

Agreed. This is something that I already do but failed to mention in my initial write-up. Good edit to everyone.

@manilaguy also had a good bit. Touching your face too much (even with your phone, interestingly) can be a problem. I knew a girl that had an effed-up side of her face and discovered that her phone use was the culprit.

That's the problem with over-the-counter stuff. It all tends to address problems with harsh drying agents. That works (well) for some people, but makes things worse for others. Sometimes the problem is, in fact, dryness. In those cases, using a drying agent only makes the problem way worse.

Also, a lot of guys use a drying cleanser and then don't follow it up with an appropriate moisturizer. This really fucks them up.

RE: No-Homo Skin Care Tips
Tuthmosis - that's exactly what my mom told me. How the shit will dry out your face to much and actually cause more pimples. My mom got some sample acne cream for me a while back and that shit was GREAT. It got my face cleared up in a day or 2 and didn't dry my face out at all. I think you have to hit up a dermatologist for it, not over the counter. I can give y'all the name if anyone wants it, I got the tube somewhere in my restroom.

What about those pads to wipe your face with? Like stridex and other brands.......oh yeah NO HOMO to this thread lol

Btw, you should be doing this anyway because your breath must smell good to get women but, if you floss it will help clear up your skin.

At least I did something. Benzyl peroxide is nice but it colors your hair. My solution to acne is grow a beard to cover my acne and acne scars and apply benzyl peroxide wherever I don't have facial hair.

How old are you? I was on accutane in grade school. Fucking scary just thinking about it, good thing I didn't blow my brains out. Anyways, it took until I was about 21 for the acne to finally subside. There is some indication cutting out grains and dairy may help, which I didn't do.

I was on it 4-5months, I wasn't able to do the full term. My liver wasn't able to handle it.

The sleeping on the fresh towel thing works. I did that for some time and my acne cleared up.

whoops this info is for blackheads-
You can go to some spa or some skin place and they will take them out. They start with a hot towel to open the pores and they have a small tool that takes them out. It's almost painless.

As far as back pimples my mom say there is some cream for that.

The problems I had with 10% was it dried out my skin too much too despite using moisturizer, and I started to notice that after some time using it, my clothes were getting bleached as well.

I could use the 2.5% morning and night without moisturizer, and I haven't had any of the same problems.

RE: No-Homo Skin Care Tips
A girl I dated some years back was an esthetician and invited me in her parlor for a free facial treatment. Of course I was the only dude in the building and this felt like something almost gay for a guy to be getting, but since I wasn't paying for it I didn't care. She steamed my face, gave a facial massage to stimulate circulation, applied all kinds of creams and treatments. It was actually really relaxing. When she was done, my face never looked so good. I could see why women spend all this money every month on that stuff.

Years ago, I had the revelation that one thing that even the dumbest bitches definitely know about is beauty and fashion. In my early years in the game, when I wasn't actively gaming a girl, I would be picking their brains for fashion and beauty tips. It made my skills at putting myself together deadly--a powerful combination of manly, with female lures that their counterparts look for.

Instead of wasting your time talking politics and sports with your female friends (chicks you can't or won't ever fuck), that know a fraction of what a random hobo on the street knows about those same subjects, learn this kind of shit from them.

If you workout alot, wash your immediately after your workout, don't let that sweat stay on your face for long.

Wash your pillow cases every week, buy new pillow cases once in a while.

KEEP YOUR TEETH WHITE, I keep a travel toothbrush at work to brush after lunch.

You'd be fine getting pretty much anything at Whole Foods or Trader Joe's to start (just don't get the cheapest shit, like Kiss My Face brand, which is better than what you're using now, but not by that much). If there's an Aveda store in your town, you can go there and ask for their men's line. That stuff is little more expensive, but it's good shit.

If you live in Middle America or the suburbs, where all you have is malls: The Body Shop is fine--in a pinch--especially for their men's products. I don't know if they still do it, but back in the day they would give you a little sample of whatever product you wanted to try for free. Don't confuse the Body Shop with the same-sounding Bath and Body Works, which is a bullshit store that sells overly fragrant teen-girl products, and is tantamount to going to Victoria's Secret, putting on a pair of panties, and expertly dancing a pas de deux in the food court.

There are better, more boutique-like stores, though. Once you get used attuned to this kind of shit, you will find it around.
I hit up Whole Foods today and got some avalon organic shaving cream. I had a girl help me pick it out and could of easily got her number but she didn't look to good. She gave me some soap for my face to help with pimples and said I can get my money back if I don't like it. That store was full of bitches and those artsy fags, they were just staring at me tard

RE: No-Homo Skin Care Tips
Great tips here.

By far the best shaving foam I've tried is the one from Avene (http://www.escentual.com/avene/avene0040...shopping). Has a subtle, masculine scent that girls love. If I can't get my hands on that I'll usually go for something neutral from Aveda. Makes a huge difference from the aggressive smelling shit from the bigger brands.

The best soaps I've found for showering are Dr. Bronner's liquid soaps. They don't dry out your skin and they don't smell like detergent. You can get them at Traders Joe's or online.

What moisturisers do you like? I haven't been able to find anything I like for face. My skin tends to be oily anyway, so I don't like applying anything that exacerbates that feeling.

Avalon is a solid product. I've used it a lot in the past and been very pleased with the results. Those bitches and artsy fags are your key to the iron gates of additional tail. Whenever I find myself getting irritated at them, I think of that.

You really ain't lying man. I'm thinking of going to that store again and asking for assistance with more products from some female workers. Might even say I'm considering yoga just to surprise them. How do u usually approach and talk to those kind of hippie/artsy girls? I look nothing like a hipster or anything like that, more like I'm on the wrong side of the tracks lol

RE: No-Homo Skin Care Tips
I pretty much obliterated my acne by avoiding dairy and limiting grain intake (I follow the Paleo/Primal diet for those who are familiar with it).

Acne is an auto-immune SYMPTOM of an underlying problem. Topical applicants might remove blemishes, but your body is still dealing with the underlying issue (which I believe is caused by the modern diet).

Ultimately, cutting out dairy was my game changer.

---

I also recommend using products with the least amount of ingredients as possible -- a general rule of mine.

Some girl was telling about those facial mask creams you put on and let it sit for about 30 min before washing it off. I guess it helps out with bringing "life" and more color to your face. Anyone know about these before I go out and buy one? Do they really work?

Guys it's all about the organics, anything that sounds like it was created by a scientist in a lab is a no go for me. I got into skin care about a year ago, at a friends' recommendation, I never had "bad" skin, but the fact is I'm getting older, and while men tend to age more graciously, than women, once you hit your late 20's and 30's, it's not a bad idea to start paying attention to this stuff (esp. if you plan on being single, gaming, etc.) Basically the brands I feel you can't go wrong with are: Jason organic, desert essence, alba, avalon, aubrey, etc. I esp. like aubrey and they are always 100% organic, and specialize in facial toner, masks, and moisturizer.

It is not only important to wash your face regularly (obviously), but also moisturize and wear an appropriate amount of (preferably) natural sun screen. I also use an organic shave cream from alba, and I feel like my skin has never been healthier, and I've gotten a lot of compliments as well. It also doesn't hurt that I eat a well rounded almost fully organic diet and mostly drink spring water. This lifestyle ain't cheap, but at the end of the day, your health is what's most important.

RE: No-Homo Skin Care Tips
The title of this thread made me chuckle. It's obvious that there's a cultural divide between America and Europe on men's skin care. As a complete heterosexual and men's skin care product user for 10+ years I can tell you that you basically you get what you pay for when it comes to these kinds of product. Go on the lower end (sephora, nivea for ex) and the stuff you put on will have preservatives and alcohol in it that will stress your skin in the long run.

My recommendation would be on the A-grade stuff like Biotherm and Clinique. I've also been impressed by Art of Shaving's stuff recently.
