RE: No-Homo Skin Care Tips
This is a product I swear by and that my longtime barber put me on to.

Basically when you apply a razor blade to your hairline you open your pores up. Whenever you touch your hairline, scalp or face with your hands, the bacteria clogs up your pores and, over time, bumps form. Sea breeze takes care of that. Hopefully, you don't have bumps so severe that you need to see a dermatologist. But if you have little bumps or just want to clear up your hairline, place a towel under hot water (as hot as you can get it from the faucet), and then put it on your hairline. This will open your pores up. That's when you apply sea breeze.

You can also use sea breeze as a pre-rinse before using shampoo when washing your hair. It will remove the clogs of oil in your scalp.

This product is sacrosanct to good hygiene. Keeps your scalp, hairline and face clean and clear.

Yeah, man. Use a sulfur based product like adult actonel which you can get at Rite Aid. It's about 4 times more expensive than benzyl peroxide but it also works that much better and doesn't irritate the shit out of your face. Use that shit liberally twice a day and you'll be amazed.

I've used everything; retin-a, benza-mycin, oral antibiotics, all the otc shit, hippy girl's tea tree crap. Nothing compares.

I think I break out a lot more when it's cold outside. Should I only wash once a day or use one product? I think I'm making my face to dry and it's having the same effect of getting all sweaty and not washing it.

Not exactly "skin care" but since this whole thread has been about face care anyways. I feel this is appropriate. Face exercise is entirely overlooked in both skin care and exercise discussions.

And if you don't believe it. Here's the before and after results. 50 years later!

Azelaic acid works very well for those acne blemishes/scars that can sometimes take awhile to clear up. Finacea is the best, but I'm pretty sure you need a prescription. There are a couple of other azelaic acid alternatives that can be found on amazon.com

RE: No-Homo Skin Care Tips
I'm starting to get my first forehead lines coming in. They aren't that bad, they are just beginning. I have no other facial wrinkles. I see guys way older than me that have no forehead creases. Even my mom at age 63 has none at all, and no actual wrinkles. My dad has pretty deep forehead creases so maybe I just inherited his genes. Like Tuthmosis said in his first post, I'm shooting for girls much younger so maintaining a younger look is top priority for me.

I was doing some research on anti-wrinkle treatments. It's hard to get the straight dope on what can be done about wrinkling and forehead creases, if anything. I don't know if it's reversible or not but if I can even stop it or slow it from happening further that would be satisfactory. Most sites with any information seem to be trying to sell you snake oil. There are a million products claiming "Buy our skin treatment, works like Botox but without any of the side-effects!" There's such a dizzying amount of [supposed]anti-wrinkle treatments out there I don't even know where to start.

Any insights on fighting wrinkles and age-creases?

I'm guessing you are in your 30's like me? I had an awesome Dermatologist in Miami. This is what he told me. You can't reverse the lines that you have. A lot of it is genetic. If you do get a cream / lotion rub it in and apply pressure. You will essentially be massaging the muscles and temporarily relax the lines and look better. My personal problem is "11's" The vertical lines between the eyes. He said nothing can reverse that. As we age are face loses collagen. My ex got Botox and it really worked for a few months. Spend the money and try it out.

RE: No-Homo Skin Care Tips
For the guys who get a lot of acne on here or struggle with pimples and breakouts there's a cream I use that works wonders. While I use it for pimples it's also good for other things as well. It called Halibut Pomada. It's basically made from Halibut oil among other ingredients. I think the real beauty of it is that it's a thick cream which doesnt dry up. You basically apply a tiny amount on each pimple and over your acne spots. After a couple of uses depending on how many days you've used it and how persistent your acne is you'll see some if not all of the acne gone for a good while before having to use the cream again. Typical results are smoother skin and a clearer face. The downside: you either have to order it online or go to Portugal to obtain it. I've looked everywhere and I still havent found it in the US. Here's a description (in Portuguese, sorry guys) of the cream and its purposes http://www.lullyfarma.pt>Inicial>MNSRM>Criancas

If you have dry, cracked skin especially on your hands, elbows and feet than Wheatgrass Skin Recovery works pretty good and its completely natural. It also works as a good aftershave and treats conditions like eczema, blackheads, burns, cuts and moscullum. It claims to work for reducing wrinkles, but I didn't use it for that so I can't speak to that. Also, its got great reviews on Amazon although a little pricey.

Good skin starts within. If you break out a lot it can have a lot to do with what you are putting in your body and how toxic you are. Olive oil or pomace oil is a great topical solution for keeping the skin young and healthy.

Sun, sun, sun. Get out in the sun and it will help clear you up. Actually, I notice I usually break out when I'm always inside and not working out or making myself sweat.

The best way to fight against this is with diet. The paleo & keto diet works well. Also amino collagen & gelatin work well (they work even better when your diet is in check).

Tea tree oil has saved my skin. Benzoyl peroxide, even at ten percent, could not get rid of breakouts for me. I put tea tree oil on problem areas before bed. I also happen to like the aroma. I also think it is helping to reduce the appearance of scars.
Add this to the Rooshvforum list along with baking soda, apple cider vinegar, and zinc.

More info please. Does tree oil make your face red and dry it out real bad like benzoyl?

In my case, no. I find it to be less harsh. I read that if it does dry you out it should be diluted but I use it at full strength. Picked it up at the local pharmacy.

Vitamin E will fade them naturally and cheaply. Laser surgery will remove them.

Vitmain E and Pure Shea Butter. If you've had the wrinkles for long...eh, live with 'em. They aren't going away without some sort of surgery, and even then they'll just come back.

Sudocrem for any irritation or pimple. It's diaper rash zinc cream, and it works like a champ.

I had a huge pimple slowly coming in on my nose. I took a hot ass shower, shaved, put some Aloe Vera shaving cream on it and it went down a little within 30 minutes.

RE: No-Homo Skin Care Tips
I've had pretty bad acne in the past, nothing really seemed to work for it.
Benzoyl peroxide creams made things a bit better, but it's a hassle and bleaches clothes / sheets. The free radicals in the cream (killing the bacteria) can cause DNA damage in your skin and cause faster aging. Something to be aware of.
When i finally took accutane (age 23), it cured me pretty fast (for like 98%, still have the occasional pimple), but as a result my skin is permanently more dry and i burn more quickly. (Accutane thins out your skin).

Some things I do:
- Shave after taking a shower. Washing your skin dries it out. Taking a shower, and especially shaving do so even more. But the shower is a good preparation for shaving so it's good and also time efficient to combine them.
- After showering i take some jojoba oil in my hands and rub it all over my face/neck. Serves as a moisturizer, and an all-natural shaving cream.
- Shave using the least amount of strokes possible (less irritation for your skin). Find a technique that works well for you. I try not to cover the same area twice. The shave isn't super-close, but so be it... (Optional: rinse)
- Take some paper and dip your face. This removes the shiny jojoba oil. Then apply a moisturizer. I'm a bit of a cheapskate so i'm using a cheap body cream (all natural ingredients). But I'll invest in a good moisturizer soon.

This is all I do, I don't think there's need for a face wash and all that crap. You get a good exfoliation / cleaning from washing and shaving. I shave every 2/3 days.

I read that using a retonoid cream can help slow down/reverse skin aging. I'm a bit wary of this though, cause it (temporarily) thins out your skin and makes it more prone to sun damage. Anybody has any experience with this?

For any lads with problems after shaving, or that get problems exacerbated by shaving, run an ice cube or two across your face after shaving and before you put on whatever you put on afterwards. Closes your pores and reduces inflammation.

I've been doing this for years, recently I'll follow it up with a drop or two of extra virgin coconut oil to moisturize my face after that.

FWIW I've been told several times this year that I've got a "healthy glow" about my face...

shit, I've got the Glow like I'm Bruce Leeroy.
