Quote:I signed up for a weekend course with PUA Training – a London-based academy run by Richard La Ruina, who also goes by the PUA pseudonym of Gambler.

I'm surprised these Mystery Method era "PUA" coaches still exist. If my only exposure to game was through one of these guys, I'd hate on it too.

He was digusted by The Game, but a dry spell cause determination. He criticize PUA, but went to a bootcamp. He say it is wrong to use tricks that don' t work because it is fake, but got his girlfriend with a direct approach that he learned from the camp. Bullshit!

The thing is that 'game' has very little to do with these Mystery-style tricks anymore. It's simply learned charisma.

I never associate approaching girls with 'the pick up community' any more. It's simply interacting with other human beings that I find attractive. Nothing 'creepy' about that. Guys have been doing since time began

I never understood why guys go to boot camps.

Bang is $15. Boot camps are a lot more expensive. Why can't they just go out and practice what they learned from the books? It'll be much cheaper in the long run and you won't have some coach constantly whispering in your ear telling you what to do.

Some guys need help being pushed and it's easy to miss things like how your body language looks, how fast you're talking etc where you're a basic noob. Someone looking in from the outside can see those problems. Confidence doesnt come from reading a book, it comes from taking action

Vice is like Mad magazine, but people take it way too seriously.

Go out of your comfort zone to open girls that intimidate you.

The worst thing is this:

Quote:Gambler languished on a sofa next to a stunning blonde. He didn’t acknowledge us – a tactic I later learned was designed to make us seek his approval – and left most of the training to his assistants.

Those 12 guys are his clients and he uses psycho-games on them.

The Daygame.com school is way superior.

Some guys need boot-camps since they are too far away or some prefer to learn in a quick fashion due to their busy lifestyle. Actually with some boot-camps it is also fun to meet the guys there, if they are not fucked-up-assholes like those according to the article. Of course we know that the media is one big lie-factory, so the truth might lie somewhere else.

RE: Guy hates on 'PUAs' on Vice.com
I don't like "PUAs" either, but game is a highly important skill set. As I've said in the past, there's a correlation between being a self-proclaimed "PUA" and being a weirdo.

I feel as though most if not all the terminology from the early 2000s needs to be thrown out.

Approach. Because fuck it.

I agree that anyone who calls themselves a PUA is probably a weirdo.

But what people don't seem to realise is game as written about and practiced by most these days is about self development and confidence, boy gimmicks

I really can't stand that Krauser associates his name with "PUA" on his site.

The guy is just a really smart, socially keen observer who can teach.

If anyone called me a PUA, I'd tell them thats a good way to get bitch slapped.

Krauser made that website a while back. Times change. The terminology's semantic, what's important is understanding; something a lot of 'mPUA's ignore. Does game involve picking up girls? Yes. Is it an art, fluid and capable of fine tuning? Yep. It's the label and uncalibrated behavior that gets irritating.

I'm sure in 5 years the manosphere and red pill labels will be lol'ed at by the next level of understanding, if not now.

RE: Guy hates on 'PUAs' on Vice.com
PUA is a redundant term.

Sure, we will use it here and there, but as has been said here, people who actually try to be 'PUAs' are slightly behind schedule.

Krauser gets a pass because he is one of the masters, and he does tend to solely focus on picking up girls(whereas, say Roosh and Roissy for example, have a wider focus: society, culture, etc.).

So perhaps he is a sort of bridge between the old school 'PUAs', and new school players using Game and living a 'red pill' life.

He's got a new book coming out too, my guess is an inner game book.

I have no problem with having PUA after my name. I am a pick up artist, in the narrow sense of the word. I go out and I pick up girls, cold approach, on a fairly regular basis. I've tried to learn the art of it. I sell books about it. For a certain area of my life, the hat fits so I wear it.

The fact most guys who call themselves "PUAs" are morons doesn't bother me. Lots of morons call themselves "English" or "libertarian" or "MMA fan" and I apply those labels to myself too.

on up through the 70's but they started to get soft in the 80's, even those were classic takes on 80's pop culture.

Spot on. Currently in the Manosphere due to the ever changing nature of the medium certain words fall out of favor. The term PUA got a bad rep after the partly moronic MTV-series with Mystery, where obviously the producers attempted to show Game in the most extravagant and partly ridiculous light. Apart from the general way that the media tries to exaggerate everything we must not forget that feminism and the feminine imperative always attempts to discredit male-empowering movements - especially if they are truly grassroots.

It seems that anyone who dares to use terms like PUA, neg or even r- and k-selection is called a nerd, sperg or worse.

I call it the RVF-word-gestapo-wedgie-squad. Krauser has enough credibility to shut everyone up.

We truly have to understand that politically correct culture means that people cannot stand deviation from their opinions and they fight it with all means - even oppose their very expression. And this example is not even a difference of opinion, but difference in Newspeak-word-changes, because of certain words falling out of favor. No reason to continue that practice here too.

I don't want to read the RVF forum in 5 years and get a trigger warning in the first paragraph due to new forum rules for the tender-hearted.

The distinction I was trying to make was about output.

I don't use twitter, so I'm not familiar with Krauser's twitter. However, I do read his blog/website, because his insight is laser sharp, but it mainly seems to be focused on pick-up/male-female interaction aka social dynamics, which I am very interested in. Whereas Roissy and Roosh often use their blog/website for cultural and social commentary. That is the distinction I attempted to make.

As we know, these aspects are inter-connected, and I still think the term 'PUA' is redundant. The Vice article uses it as a pejorative term. They infer that all PUAs are social rejects of some kind and try to paint guys who use Game as losers.

I expect his next book will be about Inner Game, as I have noticed him mention the importance of it a few times. For example when he was teaching Day Game, he said that he realised that some of the guys would NOT get laid however good they were at Day Game, because their Inner Game was not good enough.

Sorry for talking about you in third person Krauser Undecided

No worries.

I made a conscious decision to avoid putting heavy social commentary on my blog, from around early 2012. It's just a narrowing of what I consider "on topic". I still read the Roosh/Roissy/Rollo/Vox stuff and enjoy it, but don't feel enthused to write on those topics myself. Vibe-protection is really important for active players and for me personally, dwelling on that stuff degrades my vibe.

I've got a few projects lined up for 2014. All will be announced when ready.

RE: Guy hates on 'PUAs' on Vice.com
Guys problem:

1. He "needs" a bootcamp. No, he needs a friend who is naturally charismatic to help him relax and be there in a friendly conversation that doesn't need to end in sex.

2. Outcome oriented. Unless you have natural charisma, you will never go out and get laid. One needs to go out to have fun first and foremost.

3. Probably a boring tech nerd: He needs to expand his hobbies. I can bet you 5$ he doesn't lift, as been wearing the same clothes for 5 years, and enjoy a litany of typical nerd hobbies.

PUA got me in the door, but the actual effort of hard nose to stone is what got me my current hottie. Someone needs to tell him to start working hard on himself like he did for his "smarts".

Interesting concept. You could apply to most anything in life, if real life for you is just paying the bills and trying to enjoy life, not a real time Foxnews political debate.

No - I too spent a lot of time researching different topics. The point is after a period of acceptance there is little to be gained by dwelling on them.

If you seriously think that you can really change a lot by opposing the big agendas which are fed by the money powers, media, academia, politics and are glibly supported by the feminine imperative and a dumbed-down indoctrinated populace, then it is your choice. You can be an activist and start grassroots movements or bitch about the current state.

I personally don't think that it will effect any change. And it often destroys the right kind of attitude necessary to interact with girls. Apart from that dwelling on the issues is just a fun-killer if you deal with friends and family. It is simply hardly ever worth it. Sometimes you discuss the topics in an open exchange, if people are interested in your opinion, but that should rather be the exception, since it is practically impossible to view the matters in a positive light.

For example that is why most of us are not active in the MRAs - not necesserily because they are wrong or we disagree with their main tenets - we just know that they just a few individuals against the armies amassed against them. And it does not matter whether truth is behind it as long as the world's combined money power is against it you will not win in the current system. No #womenagainstfeminism or #interestfreemoney hashtags and petitions are going to change it. All those things are barely speed-bumps to them.

I got to a point where I decided it wasn't worth it anymore. I spent that intellectual capital in the 1990's and early 2000's. And then it became gratuitous and self limiting. I want to enjoy life, and take care of what I can control in my immediate reach.
