@Anabasis, you could try a SARM if you're still on the fence about gear. I tried osta-red and put on around 8 lbs while leaning down in 6 weeks. Granted it's nothing incredible, but them gains ain't budged and I haven't lost any size at all. Also hasn't exacerbated my gyno (pubertal). It's pretty great stuff.

8 pounds of lean body mass in 6 weeks while leaning down is what I'd call "incredible".

@Hannibal, I'm only 1.5 years into training. The osta just improved the already fast process.
You're a lifting greybeard, it might not give you that Kind of result. But the gains are very keepable.
By leaning down, I meant from around 13% down to 11%.

Ostarine definitely works - I saw nothing like those numbers but did get slightly leaner and noticeably stronger.

Major downsides are
- impractical dosing (most of the generic stuff is sold in 10mg pills when 15mg dose is effective)
- for me at least, awful sleep interruption -I'd wake up at 3am in the middle of winter, soaked in sweat. This was during the loading week and when coming off it.
- Really made my balls ache. Not agonising but still worrying. I started taking bulbine daily and that brought everything back to normal.

@Benoit, the ostarine I took was in 12.5 mg capsules. I took 2 a day. Funny thing was I didn't experience the incredible hunger some guys report. I wish I had.

I was on a let-go for the past weeks and just realized that my belly started to grow, to the point where my harem girls were teasing me about it.

Today is day 1 without processed foods. Especially since I have the local farmers market just behind my house, no excuse for it.

The American Open Olympic Weightlifting competition is December 8th, the qualifying period ends on October 23rd. I checked the totals needed to qualify and I can definitely make it. I was thinking of jumping up a weight class and competing what do you guys think?

I've been busy lately and haven't posted much, but update on this post from a while back...
(02-16-2016 08:05 PM)heavy Wrote:  1/31 this year I decided to cut way back on carbs / sugars (after an inspiring Joe Rogan podcast I posted)
...

I've maintained the salads for lunch 5 days a week, as well as getting cals from fats (most of my cals come from avocados, nuts, eggs, chicken, fish during the week). I've let the carbs slip a bit, but I don't really eat bread much anymore except good whole wheat toast as a snack at home.

I had a real eye opening experience about a month ago. I met at my bros house with some my family and we had a lasagna dinner. Now I love lasagna, but I haven't had pasta in 3 months. It was good, but...

For the next 4 hours I felt terrible. Now, while I'm sure some of it could be attributed to my adapted diet...I'm probably not producing the same enzymes in the same ratios as I used to, to digest things like a bunch of pasta. Still, the feeling was familiar to a past life of mine. I remember the feeling so many times after meals. Ya know, it's that feeling that you just ate a good hearty meal and your body is digesting so you're a little out of sorts. Nope, that's not right, because I hadn't felt that in months.

I can tell you this from my experience.
1. Getting the bulk of my energy from fats never leaves me feeling hungry (this would be different if you were trying to lose weight cutting cals...I'm not, though I have maintained a lower body weight while consistently feeling more satiated).
2. Spinach salads loaded with 3 hard boiled eggs or chicken breast with nuts and cheese with some raspberry vinaigrette is good, and doesn't really get old on ya (I'm usually streaky with foods, this I've maintained).
3. You can add spinach (leafy greens of some sort) to things and they'll be more healthy. I fried up some shrimp as a snack the other night. Instead of just eating the shrimp, I put them on a bed of lettuce :gay:. Delightful.

Got my deadlift sets to triples with 210 kg, squats to triples with 140 kg and bench to triples with 115 kg. Funnily enough, some of the fat seems to have disappeared. I think I'll keep on going and not cut for now, see what happens. Adding weight to the bar is a lot of fun. Also, push presses rule.

I've been off gear for 4 months now, so excited to order my new stack tonight. I'm back in the swing of eating 500grams of protein a day with ease. My stack will be sustanon/tren/mastaron and anadrol

RE: Lifter's Lounge
Been doing 1 rep maxes this week on the big 3. Not crazy impressive numbers but I'm pleased given my level of experience (I've been "seriously" lifting for about 2 months now). Unfortunately I tweaked my groin a bit squatting the other day and need to hold off on dead lift until next week.

So far I'm at:

Bench Press = 230 lbs. (~105 kg)
Squat = 275 lbs. (~125 kg)

I'll be pleased if I can DL 315. That may be conservative so if I can do more, great, but I feel like 3 plates is a good goal.

Guys, a question about creatine please.

How long after you stop taking it, does the water gain go away?

I am starting to cut now, and just wondering when I should stop taking creatine. I have 5 weeks to trim up and want to make sure the water is out by then. However, I want to take creatine until the last possible date.

Thanks.

^ Have you tried Dandelion root?

I think it was Hannibal who mentioned it somewhere around here. I've since used it and lost like 5 lbs of water weight in 2 weeks. It's meant for quick water cuts though don't know about the long-term side effects.

Are you competing in 5 weeks?

Thanks for replying Champ. Not a competition, just a goal to get the best summer body I can have before abusing it with food and alcohol. I have been trying to pack on some size but have gained the fat to go with it. I was also taking creatine. That and I need to get a tan (more than a farmer's tan).

RE: Lifter's Lounge
I've got a food/diet related question.
Just how important is it to eat rice/potatoes?

I've had been killing it with my diet the past month or two, where the worst thing in my diet was probably greek yogurt with fruit on the bottom.

[I'm excluding those 3 days or so where I ate pbnj's]
I'd eat a bit of granola and then everything else was various meats and veggies.
Spinach/Green leaf lettuce/bell peppers (all colors)/brocoli/carrots/tomatoes/cucumber/peppers/etc etc.

Using myfitnesspal I had been keeping my daily calories at about 1700 ( or 2000 if you don't subtract for cardio ) but these past few days I've had tremendous cravings and allowed myself to eat around 3000 calories for 2 days.

I actually got a little off point there, being a previous fatty who never truly got below 15% bodyfat I've been looking at a few websites in regards to this topic. http://skinnyfattransformation.com/puffy-nipples/
Mostly trying to see which exercises to do to help sculpt the areas I'm a bit more aware of and saw mentions of how you "should" be eating rice/potatoes when I had just been avoiding them because I didn't see a reason to add more carbs.

A2D - 5 lbs of water weight? Did you change anything else?

I have a wedding in a month to go to (not mine of course) and see if I can cut some water real quick. I've been "bulking" the past few months and haven't watched my diet much, want to cut up a little.

I plan to cut sodium two days before, but maybe I could run dandelion root for the weeks leading up. Any tips on dosing/warnings/etc.?

Rice and potatoes are good because they are very complex carbs which your body takes a while to breakdown into usable energy. This is beneficial for a couple reasons:

1.) It doesn't turn to fat as quickly/easily because it "burns slow."

2.) It's an efficient way to stock up on energy throughout the day and for your workout later on.

At least thats my take on it. When eating "clean" its always recommended to eat hearty whole carbs like rice, potatoes, oatmeal, etc. Just better longer-lasting energy production.

I would say if you are hitting the gym hard then rice and potatoes are the easiest way to give yourself a lot of energy to perform lifts.

Yeah man maybe even 6. I was on a 300 calorie surplus and weighed myself on an empty stomach first thing in the morning. No alcohol on both nights before or anything. So I'm pretty sure it was all water weight. Definitely looked noticeably drier.

Tips ... drink 2x-3x the amount of water you normally do while you're on Dandelion Root. I was also eating 6 bananas a day to manipulate my Na-K pump.

If the wedding is at the beach also try moisturizing your body & face with Coconut Oil the night before. Apply very liberally. Then hit the Sauna in the morning. Your skin will have the perfect complexion. Shiny without looking oily which also makes you look a bit leaner. To get rid of that last bit of facial bloating do a Facial Lymphatic Drainage Massage. Look it up.

Might sound gay but it works if you want to look your best.

Na+/K+ pump is an ATPase (enzyme that hydrolyzes ATP) that pumps out 3Na ions and pumps in 2K ions, which maintains your high extracellular Na+ concentration and high intracellular K+ concentration. Manipulating this could effect ion concentrations --> osmosis would change h2o flow --> takes away swelling
