There is no way you have gotten that amount of muscles and leanness in 4 months. I'd say that's many years worth of work. Great job if that's you.

It wasn't 4 months, I said I started around March/April.

This was May 30th, for a progress pic, with a timestamp for proof (IG)

Honestly, I've had people think I'm lying before on past communities, so I have progress pics ready for proof if you need more. But just give me the benefit of the doubt here please, just trying to contribute

Been noticing a lot of gains lately but I seem to have hit a wall with the max amount of weight I can lift, anyone have any idea why? Does it even matter?

Could be plateuing/slowing down, everyone hits that point eventually

Great progress from that last picture. We get a lot of trolls here though and the way you phrased it sounded like you suddenly got ripped in 4 months. The pictures make more sense. What type of diet were you using to cut?

Nothing special, I just made a conscious effort to get all my protein in, and keep the carbs lower than usual. However, I also had a job unloading containers over the summer (Manual Labour) and that was burning calories, on top of hitting the gym.

I also used an EC Stack supplement (Caffeine and Ephedrine) which got my shredded.

This was April 14

This was august 6

^In this one keep in mind I was flexing pretty hard lmao. My veins don't come out like that normally, I was legit sweating at this point lolll, but my bodyfat was very low

So, as I was cutting over summer, I was able to increase my strength while shredding bodyfat at the same time. I know people say it's not possible, but I was able to do it, however I think that was just genetics. Not expecting the same thing to happen next time I cut, was likely just because I'm still new to it

I don't really care if you used PEDs to get that vascular and swole, but a lot of people on the internet do and they're not going to waste much time making their opinions known.

What sort of workouts did you do?

Hi guys, total noob here.

Age 55, just swallowed the red pilll, and now it's time to get things in gear. I want to get ripped as shit.

Dietwise, I am about 50 g per day low carb, with lots of fish and veggies. I also do a ton of walking and hill sprints, but no chronic cardio.

I've signed up for a gym, and I am going to get started this week.

Now, where do I start with the lifting?

I'm not trying to get validation from anywhere? Thought this was the lifting section. If anything you sound a bit irate, don't see what I did to warrant the negativity

And yeah it is, had pubertal gyno, started to come up when I was around 13/14 and I got most of it removed when I was 18, it was free since it was covered by OHIP

I do this one

http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread...=149807833

I don't know what a PED is, but I'm guessing some kind of drug lmao. I took Whey Protein, Creatine and an EC Stack which is Caffeine and Ephedrine, it's like $10 ($5 for caffeine pills and then the ephedrine) and you can get it from GNC or Popeyes Supplements. It's really good for cutting

Hey man, good stuff trying to get into shape! You say you're a total noob, so this should be okay to get into the swing of things

http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread...=160947761

Now if you don't have much time, you can also do a Full Body Workout 3 times a week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday), or an Upper/Lower Split (Monday Upper Body, Tuesday Lower Body, Wednesday Rest. Thursday Upper Body, Friday Upper Body) which works okay too. Start light with everything and make sure to concentrate on form, since you're new

squatted 285x3 when I squatted the same weight for 5 reps 2 weeks ago. Last week of a six week cycle. Will go to 3 weeks until the spring.

Did a bodyweight Press (or military press) at 145.

Its definitely possible to get that shredded without PEDs.
Anyone want a great, cheap, healthy muscle building meal?
CHILI! Full of protein, good carbs and fats, fiber, and veggies.
Can of black beans, pinto beans, lentils, whatever you want. Chop up some ground beef or stew meat, tomato paste, add whatever you want really. I always put a shit load of garlic, onions, ginger and veggies in mine. Add spices such as turmeric for some antioxidants.
Let it all sit and cook, add some more meat if you want (I like to mix eggs in my chill).
Grind up a ton of natural cheese on that shit, smoke a joint if thats your thing, then mow down.
I just consumed a massive pot of this stuff now I feel like I'm going into a food coma. Gonna deadlift hard tomorrow!

It's funny how mental exhaustion translates to weaker lifting. I spent all day cramming for a test, did it (more like aced it) then hit the gym immediately after and my performance was pathetic. It felt like I was lifting on no sleep.

My best lifts are always when I can quiet my mind. Mental exhaustion would make that impossible. The mind starts to spin out too many ideas and just uses too much energy at that point. When I did BJJ I really couldn't get into the flow until after the warmup and my mind stopped rolling out tons of useless thoughts.

thats my goto lunch.

Every Sunday I make a big ole batch of chili.

Normally just a bunch of cans of beans (kindey, pinto, black, chili beans), a bag of frozen veggies, a chopped up onion, and 2 lbs of pork. Two cans of dice tomatoes, can of tomato paste, and then spaghetti sauce(added in as needed for taste).

Cook it all up, let it sat about 24 hours in the fridge, and then can it in a bunch of mason jars. Normally gets me 11 or 12 mason jar meals. Comes to around $2.50 per meal. Very healthy, very filling, full of protein and nutrients. Mason jars make it super easy to transport around without worrying about the cover getting popped open like in tupperware. And to top if off, it takes me about 20 minutes of prep time and less than an hour to cook.

God'll prolly have me on some real strict shit

Lifted consistently for about a month then got lazy and only lifted once or twice a week the past 3 weeks. However all of my lifts have gone up dramatically in the last couple of weeks. Anyone have an idea how this happened?

Supercompensation. That's how peaking works in programming for lifting competitions.

It won't last much longer though.

When you say it won't last much longer do you mean my lifts will revert to my old numbers or that my progress will slow down?

I hear so many varying reports. How many times per week do you guys work each muscle group.

I did bis and tris yesterday

Shoulders today

At this rate I will be getting one muscle group every 5 days.

I'm naturally 5'11" 170lbs but want to put on weight.

Started lifting seriously/consistently around the end of March/Beginning of April this year, been making some unreal progress. Going to go and try to compete next year since things are going so well, pretty sure I have the genetics. Eventually gonna start a Youtube Channel, and already slowly building followers on IG

For anyone curious I use this routine off of Bb.com , http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread...=149807833 Works like a beauty since it hits everything twice a week

Damn bro.... your pics are legit. I been looking for a new workout program to start next week (took this week off cause I been traveling, plus have been doing my old work out routine for 2 months straight, figured it was time for a week off before I start something new) After seeing your pics and the love that routine gets on the bodybuilding forum I think I'm gonna do it.

Watched a true competitive power lifter the other day. Man was that a humbling experience. This dude was competing in the 242 lb weight class and ranking. But he had to cut from 255 lbs. for each competition and kept tearing muscles due to water drop, so injuries were killing him, torn pecs, etc.

He went up to the 275 lb weight class in last 6 months, and is not only enormous at 6'1", but shredded like a competitive body builder.

Seeing someone squat 800+ lbs is a spectacle. You can feel the danger when that weight is hoisted.

I think I'm overdoing IF. Now that I am on the road and eating out every meal I can't afford to eat the Herculean portions I had when I was cooking for myself. I'm down to 210....with shoes on....I want to be 215. Looks like Ill have to start eating more (something I rarely have to do).
