Quote:Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh argued that Robin Williams committed suicide because of his “leftist world view.”

“What is the left’s world view in general?” Mr. Limbaugh asked listeners. “If you had to attach, not a philosophy, but an attitude to a leftist world view. It’s one of pessimism, and darkness, sadness. They’re never happy, are they?”

Don't agree with the politicization of the man's death, but he has a point.

I don't think the left owns "pessimism, and darkness, sadness" plenty on the right also. But he has to sell himself to his audience to get paid. I am sure Limbauh's drug addiction was due to the fact that he was a happy guy.

I'm not pretending to be a psychiatrist, but Hollywood undoubtedly has a large hand in the emasculation of the American male. Take a look at all of the TV shows that portray dad's as fat, beer bellied dumb asses (The Simspsons, Family Guy, etc) the movies that make men wear dresses (Big Mommas House, Tootsie, Madea, and speaking of Robin Williams, Ms. Doubtfire) etc. Do you think a lot of these people are happy selling their soul to entertain people? They tried to get Dave Chappelle to do it, and he walked away from tens of millions of dollars to live in relative obscurity. Michael Jackson did it for years and had huge mental issues from it. And is it any coincidence that most of Hollywood is liberal? The same lefties that make this garbage are hugely responsible for the divorce courts that screwed Robin Williams a new one (err two) that contributed to his financial problems. Just like feminists are secretly unhappy being careerist fembots, so are men when they are taken out of the masculine role.

Men are better off seeking their entertainment through sports, literature, and independent film. Rush is a troll, no doubt, and probably said what he said for shock value, but I find his statement pertinent nonetheless.

RE: Robin Williams RIP
I think social media has done more damage than the entertainment business. Just like the printing press, it is just a mechanism it is what interests people that dictate how it is used. People have always wanted attention but social media has given them unprecedented tools to fuck up their lives.

If shows don't land an audience they get the quick hook. It is a chicken and egg thing. Is media really shaping weak minds? Or weak minds want to watch certain shows?

Weak minded people are always open to influence, give them something shiny to look at and they get all excited. Has always been the case. I am not happy with feminazis but I can't pinpoint and say society has fallen apart because of Family Guy.

Well sadly there are a lot of weak minded Americans who support and imitate that crap. And like it or not Hollywood and the media project America's image throughout the world.

RE: Robin Williams RIP
I think two of my first few trips to the movies when I was a little kid were Ghostbusters 2 and Hook. Now I see that both Harold Ramis and Robin Williams have died recently. Kind of makes you realize how short life really is...

I definitely think there's something to the commentary that the divorce/alimony issues were a big factor in the Williams suicide. It's obvious that an actor of that caliber would not normally need to take garbage roles to pay the bills. He constantly made fun of Bicentennial man and some of the other questionable work he had to do.

Looks like after two divorces he was finally getting some "no habla ingles" pussy near the end. He was probably on the right track...

I did not know Robin Williams liked Zelda so much. Apparently they want to put a character like him in the newest Zelda game. Not sure if that will happen though.

Good tribute to a great man ruined by greedy parasites. Really brings home the magnitude of the gold-digger problem, the indecency of certain females and the insanity of the legal system. Timely red-pill top-up, too. The fact that some cunts in the media have been calling him a coward for abandoning his family when in fact he was probably protecting them, that is another reason for disgust at the world.

Blizzard is putting him in World of Warcraft. A lot of SJW's are pissed at Nintendo for not doing the same. There's an online petition to Nintendo of America with about 100,000 names on it for William's to be included in an upcoming Zelda game.

Thing is, this touches on the presumptuousness of these slacktivists. NoA doesn't make games (more or less). They market & distribute games made by their Japanese parent company. So in order for this petition to happen:
1) NoA would have to tell the folks in Tokyo about it
2) They'd have to explain to a bunch of Japanese coders who RW is
3) They'd have to explain why this makes sense when Nintendo is sold in 178 countries, and this petition is from one
4) The folks at Nintendo in Japan probably never heard of the guy, so they'd still likely say no.

There's some people that are honestly angry at Nintendo for declining to do all this. Of course, they're slacktivists, and have already moved on to pouring ice water on top of themselves.

Naturally I wonder: why was there a Robin Williams tribute during the Video Music Awards? He never had anything to do with the music industry.

When he was a young child he was diagnosed with Aspergers. He has talked many times about how when he started school he could not make friends. He started making animal sounds in class and kid would laugh. He found if he made the other kids laugh they would be his friends. As an adult he felt he had to be "on all the time making people laugh" but when it came to being a "normal person" he had difficulty communicating. He said this caused problems with his marriages. When playing with his children he felt he had to be someone else ie using a different voice or character. He said his daughter would say "daddy just be yourself". Aspergers plus clinical depression was not easy to face plus adding Parkinsons. RIP Robin

David Letterman's tribute was very nice. He mentioned that Robin helped him get a part in one Mork and Mindy episode. He did it because he wanted to help his friends find work.

RE: Robin Williams RIP
I watched Dead Poets Society this past weekend for the first time in 9 years.

I totally forgot the plot of the movie and was confused because I thought I recalled some conflict about one of the kids being picked on for being Jewish and then realized I confused it with the plot of the movie School Ties with Brendan Frasier and Matt Damon. Laugh

I also forgot that the character Neil Perry commits suicide in the movie which made it even more depressing. Actually the whole movie isn't as good as I'd remembered. Robin Williams is great in it though.

Joe Rogan and Stefan Molyneux expound on Stefan's previous video starting around 1:58. There's definitely more to RW's suicide than his divorces, as evidenced by his getting married twice after the first divorce, but the monetary hurt, emotional disarray, and public shame took their toll for sure.

Quote:Robin Williams' daughter gets tattoo tribute
By Katia Hetter, CNN
October 23, 2014

(CNN) -- Robin Williams' daughter chose a hummingbird to honor her late father.
"For poppo," wrote Zelda Williams on her Instagram account Wednesday, posting the picture of a tattoo on what appears to be her right hand, above a tattoo of Robin's birthday, "7.21.51," written on her wrist.
"Thank you to the incomparable @dr_woo_ssc for so beautifully bringing my reminders to life," she wrote, thanking tattoo artist Dr. Woo of Mike Mahoney's Shamrock Social Club in Hollywood. "I'll always put my hand out to shake with a smile."

Unfortunately I was unable to appreciate him because I always had the same feeling about him El Mech did; there was something about him that made me really uncomfortable. I sort of felt the same way. There was something just slightly off. He was very funny, talented and versatile and by all accounts a great guy but I always suspected that he might actually be gay and that he was really struggling to repress it. There were many moments in his routines over the years where he took on a very feminine affect. Just watch him in The Birdcage and then watch how many times he'd use that very effeminate affect in his routines and improvs

It's not my intent to bash the guy nor tarnish his memory. I certainly don't have any proof or have I ever heard that he was. It's just an intuition and a theory. This is a common source of depression and can lead to alcoholism, substance abuse and suicide for gays that never grow comfortable in their own skin.

RE: Robin Williams RIP
http://pagesix.com/2015/11/03/robin-will...s-suicide/

Quote:Robin Williams’ widow doesn’t blame him “one bit” for committing suicide, saying he likely only had a few years left to live because he suffered from multiple diseases.

“They would’ve been hard years,” Susan Williams told “Good Morning America” in her first interview since the comic legend killed himself last year.

The consummate comedian was scheduled to get neurocognitive testing the week he killed himself following a Parkinson’s diagnosis in May.

But there was more wrong with him than the degenerative disorder and his chronic depression. Medical examiners discovered he also suffered from Lewy body dementia, a difficult-to-diagnose strain of the memory-erasing disease that dovetails with his other conditions and also includes visual hallucinations.

“The disease is like a sea monster with 50 tentacles of symptoms that show when they want,” she said. “It’s chemical warfare in the brain and we can’t find it until someone dies, definitively. There’s no cure.”

Looking back over the last few months of his life, Susan said there were signs of the crippling effects of the condition.

One day, she found him bloodied in the bathroom “just disintegrating before my eyes.”

“And now, after a year of digging into what killed my husband, finding out all about Lewy body disease, lo and behold, one of the symptoms, their vision is affected,” she told “GMA.” “Spatially, depth, the ability to recognize, identify objects.”

The actor never specifically said he didn’t have the will to live anymore, but his declining health definitely affected his decision.

“He was sick and tired of what was going on,” Susan told “GMA.”

His wife of three years said many people reached out to her after his shocking suicide.

“They would say to me, ‘God, I wish I had done something more for him. If only I had called him,’” she said. “And I’m thinking, ‘No one could have done anything more for Robin.’”

And while she misses her husband, calling their relationship “the best love I ever dreamed of,” she doesn’t have any regrets.

“Not for one second,” she said, getting choked up. “I know we did everything we could.”

Williams was found hanging from a belt in his California home on Aug. 11, 2014.

RE: Robin Williams RIP
I watched Good Will Hunting just last week. His acting skills never ceased to amaze me. But Robin Williams always seemed to emanate a deep inner sadness. I could see it in his eyes, like he was just about to burst into tears. Up until his death, I thought it was just a part of his acting. But looking back on all his movies, I realized that he had the exact same inner sadness across vastly different roles. In hindsight, that makes me think this sadness was real.
