Really beautiful song, I actually first heard it though in the 00s watching Wong Kar Wai's Fallen Angels.

Beautiful song indeed, hadn't heard it in years.

Prettiest children's show theme ever, depicts an idyllic countryside English life played by anthropomorphized animals.

Instrumental version, just so so peaceful.

I actually like the Bauhaus cover better than the Bowie original.

How about the better-known Bowie-related song in the 80s?

So I'm pretty sure the only guy on this forum who remembers Donnie Iris without googling him is Days of Broken Arrows.

But this is a massively underrated and forgotten 80s rock gem. I never understood why this isn't played more on FM rock radio.

But if this doesn't get you pumped up for Beach Week 83' or for a bitchin' game of Devils Triangle, then nothing else will.

This video was already posted, so I have to disagree with you about who remembers this song but I will agree with you that it was a gem.

I've heard the song on the radio but never knew the guy was so nerdy-looking. As image-conscious as the 80s were, it's kind of neat that some people managed to achieve some success without looking the part. That main riff sounds like it was lifted right off of Black Sabbath's Heaven and Hell album, especially the bassline.

Anyone else have a thing for Marie Osmond? Just a religious girl tease, but man the way she looked at the camera.

If I had to name a favorite song, it would be this one. Both the tune and video are haunting. It’s stuck with me over the years for reasons I can’t explain.

RE: 80s thread, best of the 80s
As an older member of this forum, I can relate to many of the music videos and pictures for this era. I hate to sound like I'm living in the past, but a small part of me sometimes wishes it would be possible to go back to that era. It was a time when you could game women on the job and not risk getting fired over it or having any kind of sexual harassment allegations made against you. It was not something that you had to worry about back then.

One other thing that I would like to mention is that looking at the women in those videos and pictures, boy what a different world it was back then. Women were clean cut, feminine and way nicer to deal with than today. I look at these younger women today and all I see are fat, multi colored haired freaks that are a total train wreck to deal with. They actually took pride in their appearance and made an effort to look good. Today, they think that being fat with crappy tattoos and multi colored hair makes them look good.

RE: 80s thread, best of the 80s
In the 80s there was an appreciation for new technology. And the technology was useful or interesting. Now, all you get is a new iphone with one new feature or some gadget with a slightly different way of doing what you did perfectly fine before, or something that does it slightly faster because we're all living such fast paced, fulfilling lives that we don't have time to flick a switch. There's no novelty any more. Nothing is amazing. In the 80s you might hesitate before speculating about what might be around in the future because you didn't know what was really possible, but now, anything you can imagine has probably been done or will be soon.

Technology should be rare. Limited to fewer people. A novelty that a relative or wealthy friend might show you once in a while if you're lucky.

That's not how we do things in Russia, comrade.

This is probably late 70's but close enough. That Ernest Hemingway had a couple of hot granddaughters.

Fun song from the 80's

Not the original video but some cuties in it

Fun fact. The kid in the fedora dancing on the roof fell off while making the video(to the lower roof...not the ground)

Moral of the story. Dont wear fedoras
