RE: 80s thread, best of the 80s
My friends and I will pre-game some nights before going out and we'll usually do a bunch of songs/video's from the 80's. Here are a few of my favorites:

"Once you've gotten the lay you have won."- Mufasa

"You Miss 100% of the shots you don't take"- Wayne Gretzky

I hate to sound like I'm living in the past, but a small part of me sometimes wishes it would be possible to go back to that era. It was a time when you could game women on the job and not risk getting fired over it or having any kind of sexual harassment allegations made against you. It was not something that you had to worry about back then.

One other thing that I would like to mention is that looking at the women in those videos and pictures, boy what a different world it was back then. Women were clean cut, feminine and way nicer to deal with than today. I look at these younger women today and all I see are fat, multi colored haired freaks that are a total train wreck to deal with. They actually took pride in their appearance and made an effort to look good. Today, they think that being fat with crappy tattoos and multi colored hair makes them look good.

Their voice might be the worst feature of all, the vocal fry drives me nuts.

Not the original video but some cuties in it

Fun fact. The kid in the fedora dancing on the roof fell off while making the video(to the lower roof...not the ground)

Moral of the story. Dont wear fedoras

Sweet song ('What is Love?')- but it's actually from the early 90's. Close enough.

I grew up in South Florida. This song was out there 4-5 years before it hit nationally.

The 80s also gave us McGruff the Crime Dog

If you guys remember, the guys behind McGruff got too coked out one night and decided to release a music album for da kids:

What's funny is the guy who voiced McGruff is now doing 16 years in Fed Prison for having over 1,000 marijuana plants and a small arsenal, including a grenade launcher, at his house in Texas.

But this is my favorite McGruff jam:

A song from Genesis that I liked despite the politics, the cover done by Disturbed was good too. The puppets just look creepy.

I remember I saw that video when I was 6 or 7, and was so completely freaked out that I was terrified of watching the video or listening to the song afterwards. The fear and disgust that I had from that video was so strong that I would get uncomfortable catching glimpses of it flipping through VH1 or MTV as an adult. I think it took me almost 25 years to watch it again.

And to continue the New Order kick, here's a subdued but beautiful post-Joy Division New Order classic:

I think when it comes to New Wave that it's hard to beat The Fixx. Every one of their hits is right in the pocket of what you'd expect from the genre.

The Fixx's guitarist, Jamie West-Oram, is really one of the biggest unsung players of that time. He was a key part of the textural guitar movement ala The Police, keys-era Rush, and U2.

Neneh Cherry was just on TV at the weekend (BBC I think). Almost didn't recognise her, she looked rough as fuck. She was definitely worth a go back in the day though.

Yeah, Terence Trent D'Arby had some classics, all one after the other; Sign Your Name, If You Let Me Stay, Wishing Well. I've always felt the same; that he should have been a superstar.

This is a brief life, but in its brevity it offers us some splendid moments, some meaningful adventures.

He was a superstar at some point. I remember his videos had heavy rotation on MTV. From what I read in his wikipedia entry seems he suffered from a massive ego, and had many conflicts with the record labels. A fate that some careers seem to have had, similar to the guy from the Sisters of Mercy for example.

I spent my teens in the 80's... and got my first sex experiences and lays then. Great kissers everywhera in that era.

Also, thanks to the poster who planted The Cars here. I love some Cars songs but not the one posted.

"You (dainty fit girl with nice bosom, ass, and face)... over there! Hello! Hello, Again!"

Pardon me if this MTV flicker was linked before. The lyrics are important.

A little off the beaten path, from late 80s/early 90s Minnesota, the band Top, with two nice hits:
