Rockstar stated the other day that the economy in Red Dead Online will be one of the first things that will be adjusted. Although I'm sure it will only be minor adjustments to try to appease complaints.
I only briefly tried GTA Online but it sounds like Rockstar and Take-Two are as bad as other publishers when it comes to trying to gauge as much money as they can get away with from players through microtransactions.
But at least they still make great singleplayer games.

I've played a few hours of Red Dead Online. Aside from the broken economy and rampant griefing, many features people had expected are not implemented (yet) - you can't rob stores, you can't do side activities like poker, no train robberies, no property ownership.
So it's basically hunting (which fortunately I happen to enjoy), lobby based PvP (I've enjoyed the matches I've played), story missions (I've only done the first few ones out of I think I heard seven or eight) and shooting every other player you come across in the face for no real reward other than glee (which seems to be what many do).

RE: Video games
Rockstar DOES NOT have much of a say regarding MtX. Take Two, however, has near total control, they own Rockstar and they are tremendoulsy greedy as we can see in the NBA 2k games.

However, I do not believe the improvements will be conclusive enough to be appreciated.

Fallout 76 users : credit card alert.

If you submitted a ticket to Bethesda support : your name, address and credit card numbers are maybe on the web right now.
Think about canceling it, before it's too late.

These receipts contain all your info.
Your email and home address and the card you used to buy this extremely glitched game.

I'm very glad I didn't buy this game.

Stellaris has a new DLC out today called MegaCorp.

So it looks like you can roleplay something like SpaceX (Elon Musk) ruling Earth. Or you can emulate something like Star Wars' Hutts or Star Trek's Orion Syndicate. Or even the humans in that movie Wall-E. They also have Space Communism as an option too.

Sadly the mod scene for Stellaris is still in its' infancy. They have a decent Star Trek mod called Star Trek horizon but I am waiting for the Star Wars mod to be released (which will take 1 or 2 years?).

In the meanwhile I've put in 60 hours into Crusader Kings 2 since it updated with Holy Fury (mostly playing as European Pagans and reforming the religion).

Bethesda just updated Skyrim and every time they do this it breaks mods or the mod scripts...

What are they adding to a game they never touched for years? Usually Creation Club stuff they're charging money for or people on there stealing ideas from other mods (and charging for it).

To me it seems like Bethesda really did a 180 in terms of customer service.

In reality Bethesda never was a saint studio..... but they produced such gold we over looked all their flaws. It's like dating a girl who is dumb as a box of rocks and not that pleasant to be around.... but shes a 10 with a smoking hot body and has bomb bj skills so you just over look her flaws for awhile.

I only really play CK2 or EUIV now. The replayability and entertainment value is just immense.

Other than that I'm really getting into the Yakuza series. Ever since the Yakuza 1 remake was free on PS Plus I've been hooked when I have a few minutes to spare. I'll probably start picking up the rest of the series too.

Also I'm honestly going to be just getting through my enormous game backlog and fixing up my PS3 to finish up the 10+ games I've started but never finished if I want anything to do with gaming. Lack of time and wanting to chase ass/drinking nice Scotch/not wanting to give to a shitty industry releasing shitty games is taking precedence by the day.

I'll only probably pick up games after they've long been out and highly vetted. Once you lose faith it's hard to ever want to preorder a game ever again. On the other hand I've rarely been disappointed with nice liquor or a hot girl(within reason for fuck buddy material).

I sometimes wonder who all these people are who buy these games on faith at release for a hundred bucks and then I remember how many kids there are in the West who's parents still make enough money to buy their kids a pony farm each for Christmas every year.

On top of that, up-to-the-minute gaming culture thanks to YouTube is worse than Hollywood current-ism ever was or ever will be. One of the benefits of living in poorfagville is that my boys don't have trouble keeping up with the Jones', but I imagine the pressure in the suburbs is immense, where if your kid doesn't have the latest AAA title then he's the odd one out on release day +1.

The public will judge a man by what he lifts, but those close to him will judge him by what he carries.

Being a kid in school must be brutal nowadays. 20 years ago, some people were considered a bit cooler for having name brand clothes, but it wasn't a huge deal, at least with people I knew. Now that kids do most of their interacting in the virtual world, not having the latest technology means you literally can't communicate with anyone. No wonder they're all depressed.

Finished RDR2 weeks ago and am now playing God of War. So far I haven't seen any flaw in God of War, while RDR2 was a bit boring and slowing during some sections.

In RDR2, I constantly checked how much progress I've already made, because I wanted the game to finish. I went to bed yesterday at 3am after playing 6h God of War, just to wake up now to play it again.

Out of the 3 games I've played so far (RDR2, GoD3, GoD), it's by far the best and maybe the best game I've ever played.

Now that kids do most of their interacting in the virtual world, not having the latest technology means you literally can't communicate with anyone. No wonder they're all depressed.

Despite indulging in it myself, it's really one of those things I would 'un-invent' if given the powers. I've seen my own boy become immersed in these games just over the last year or so, whereas before he would draw, read and make stuff.

I talk to him all the time about it, walking the tightrope between getting him to appreciate non-gaming time, but without getting him ostracized for not joining in with the cool kids.

In our chats, I repeatedly remind him of the crucial difference between being a 'producer' and a 'consumer'. I want him to produce his own artwork/writing/program games and just use his consumption time for enjoyment obviously, but also to inspire his subsequent production.

He told me of a lad at school he knows who isn't allowed any technology at home at all. Instead, this young lad carries around an artpad everywhere he goes, to every lesson. My son tells me how it's crammed full of detailed and accomplished artwork that he has just thought up himself. My son tells me that this lad is thought of as a bit unusal, but luckily for him, he's big enough to neutralise the bullies.

In talking about this lad, my son understands that in years to come when school is but a distant memory, everyone will remember the lad who carried his drawing pad around with him.

Looks like Ubisoft went SJW after being hounded for being Republican White Supremacists for making a game setting focusing on rural White America.

This is a Far Cry game.

You'll be a walking death machine until you stumble across a story driven trigger, at which point you'll be subdued by said black chicks without any player input and in the next scene they'll be taking turns pegging you in a drug induced nightmare.

Do they really think the game is going to sell?
Have they not seen what happened to RTW2, Ghostbusters movie, Battlefield and so on?
Are they literally so fucking braindead they think pandering to SJWs will help to sell their games,
or are they just doing so well that they don't care that it doesn't sell as long as it's on the right side of history?
