Like how to ensure the safety?

Set and Setting is key for a good experience.
Good news is, it's humanly impossible to overdose on DMT (would require multiple grams, while you're out after about 50-75 Mg).
The issue isn't physical with this substance, it's mental.
If you can't let go, when you feel your soul being ripped out of your body, when you sense your ego disappearing, you're going to have a VERY bad time.

This can even lead to long lasting mental trauma, like PTSD.
DMT isn't for everyone and isn't a party drug.
Do deep research before engaging.

Nausea and vomiting, I'm pretty sure.

Only if drank (Ayahuasca).
The vaporisation of pure DMT doesn't create any nausea nor vomiting.
(It's still recommended not to eat multiple hours before smoking, as an empty stomach better fits this activity).

I think the experience could be too much for most novices and actually screw them up mentally, at least temporarily. People shouldn't be messing with this stuff until they have a good amount of mushroom trips under their belt.

Indeed, it's like dying.

But using other psychedelics isn't required, before going to DMT.
Microdosing DMT lets the user slowly get acquainted with it, I'd advise following this path.

If you're intested in extracting yourself DMT, send me a PM.
I'll give you all the required information.

DMT is a bit like acid was in the 60's. It is highly popular in certain circles now especially among bohemians and hipsters. I cannot tell you the number of hipster faggots that have sang its praises. It's bad enough with LSD.

I had a friend that got fucking high as fuck on LSD and he proceeded to paint a map of the Pentagon (with full details) with his penis. If this is what having a revelation is like on a psychotropic, I don't want one. Sounds retarded. Such is my feeling about LSD and for that matter DMT.

No, I will not chant mantras in a room in the third world with sweaty hippies looking for some insights into their shitty consumerist lives in the faggot enclaves of the US.

As we say where I'm from, "drugs are for getting fucked up". Not for pseudo-deep experiences.

RE: DMT - What The Fuck Is It All About
^I think I understand where you come from, as I had the exact same though process, less than a year ago.
And I still wouldn't be able to convince my younger self, about the benefits of such a substance.

This being said, don't you have the impression to judge something you don't know much about?
I'm aware the same could be said about, for example gay anal sex : "you never let a dude fuck your ass, how can you pretend to know you don't like it?"
To which I'd answer, like you : "I know nothing about it, and don't want to know".

The MSM has painted psychedelics in a very bad way : "you take it once, you'll probably die, or fuck your brains up, only juckies and low lifes even think about that shit".
While at the same time promoting other "legal" drugs, which are Way More harmful (Tabacco, alcohol, TV, antidepressants, Etc.), which let the State milk the propulation for sweet cash And let people stay in a comfy sleep.
To me, psychedelics have the potential to open up some minds, while the "allowed" drugs can only close it.

All in all, if you aren't interested in this kind of thing, I get it : it's not for everybody after all.
Doctor Rick Strassman, in his book "DMT : the Spirit Molecule" was hoping it would enlighten anybody taking it.
The results were a mix bag : some got raped by space alligator aliens and swore never to touch a psychedelic in their lifes, others got shamanic enlightment type experiences.
I could go deeper on why this happened, but it's not the topic.

Wish you, and anybody reading this message, the best in your life, whatever you think about this complex topic.

RE: DMT - What The Fuck Is It All About
Most troubling is the link between psychotropic drugs and mental illness--keeping in mind I'm referring to the existing literature base that is most prevalent on topics like cannabis and LSD, but of course to a lesser extent other drugs.

Additionally we have the fact that government was pushing these exact same drugs in the 60's (CIA, et al) for some reason. I wonder why?

These drugs are undergoing a renaissance when it comes to media coverage and indeed MSM is painting them with a positive brush, especially their therapeutic benefits, which is not a problem at all if the evidence is there for their efficacy.

Tobacco has seen widespread demonization, and now in the midst of the ecig craze, we're seeing it with nicotine of all substances. In fact, it's not much different from caffeine. Although in the past, no doubt research about effects of tobacco was suppressed. Alcohol too. Just looking at the destructiveness of alcohol on families, users, partners, crime, etc, we can see how bad it can be. SSRIs, etc are potent substances, no doubt about it, and here in the US, and the west to a lesser extent, we are way to heavy on handing out drugs to individuals whom have legitimate problems, but we opt for the easy solutions. To me, some of the most dangerous drugs now are media, social media, cell phones etc. Simply for the fact that they are designed to mimic drugs in their functionality.

I'm not interested, I'm for complete legalization of all substances though... Whatever floats your boat. But if they have document-able therapeutic benefits or even spiritual or holistic benefits, I'm in favor of them. They may also have some utility in treating drug abuse. We are now seeing emerging research on ecstasy, LSD, Ketamine, cannabis, etc, on the benefits these drugs can provide.

Related: good book on the covert war against rock n roll and counter-cultural figures in the 60's; there is much speculation, but basically the thought is that many of the big rock n roll figures were being killed for being too edgy, synopsis of the book follows: The Covert War Against Rock: What You Don't Know About the Deaths of Jim Morrison, Tupac Shakur, Michael Hutchence, Brian Jones, Jimi Hendrix, Phil Ochs, Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, John Lennon... (author: Alex Constantine):

Quote:Constantine's paranoid romp through rock history explores Brian Jones' demise at Winnie the Pooh's house, Peter Tosh's death during a home invasion, Bob Marley's fatal cancer, and the terminations of other, somehow subversive rock stars, and vets the conspiracy theories about them. Was Marley given cancer by means of a booby-trapped cowboy boot from the CIA? If so, was that part of the same CIA-Jamaican government campaign that rubbed out Tosh? What of alleged foul play in the death of Tupac Shakur, not by rival gangsta rap crews, but by a "COINTELPRO-type operation" ? According to Constantine, the mainstream media have produced books "libelling the deceased and misleading the reader on the circumstances." The scary suppositions are only slightly undercut by Constantine's occasional fudging of known, if ungermane, facts, as when he says that the Mick Jagger^-Keith Richards bust occurred at a hotel rather than Richards' Redlands estate. Less scurrilous than the Weekly World News, less reliable than Kenneth Anger's Tinseltown expose, Hollywood Babylon, this is still fascinating conspiracy mongering.

RE: DMT - What The Fuck Is It All About
For you guys into counter culture, here's something worth checking out although there's not much on the internet at all about it. It's about the connection between a shadowy figure, nicknamed, "Dealer McDope", and the Grateful Dead and their semi-sanctioned drug distribution during the height of the counter-culture:

Quote:In the second half of the 20th century, dealers and chemists loosely associated with the Grateful Dead like Owsley Stanley, Nicholas Sand, Karen Horning, Sarah Maltzer, "Dealer McDope," and Leonard Pickard played an essential role in distributing LSD.[

I can't find the links, they are pretty scant, but basically McDope was affiliated with CIA providing precursors to LSD, subsequentally providing to Grateful Dead affiliates, he was the critical element to the whole thing back in the day.

I don't suggest using DMT for a lot of people. I don't think it's for most of us.

The compounds inside of it are highly active and have been traditionally used with a shaman who has dedicated their life to learning the ins and outs of the spirit world. Obviously, most of you aren't doing it with a shaman.

I've done it 3-4 times. I believe that it's an advanced technology that you can use for interdimensional travel. Most people aren't cut out for this, including me.

It did satisfy a morbid curiosity for me, but the spirits basically told me to "stay on Earth and stop fucking with the fabric of the universe."

On top of that, it just made me a buzzed out weirdo. I find my time is better spent tending to matters that exist within my own realm.

Just my 2 cents.

Could you detail your trip?

I find extremely interesting that the pattern is usually the same for everyone who does a breakthrough:

Feeling like you died and go somewhere.

Appear in a place that feels familiar and is filled with warmth and love.

Have entities that show you things that no language could accuratedly describe but you know they made sense and were coherent.

On the other side, signs that you were simply tripping:

The place and the entities dont look the same for everyone

If we are one with the universe, why is this "information" and feeling just available to humans.

On most reports ive read the entities are normally humanoid shaped (elves, small goblins...). We have this shape because we come from the apes, who had long extremities to climb trees because the earth happened to have an atmosphere and trees everywhere. Why would superior interdiomensional beings be shaped like us if their existence isnt based on the conditions of planet earth. My point is, we think about aliens and gods "human shaped" therefore these thoughts translate into the dmt trip.

I could detail the whole trip later on for you, sure. Just not right now.

I think that the place you go is 100% real. I think the beings you say exist (albeit in a different astral plane).

I think it's a great way to access another world that there conveniently exists a chemical gateway to in our brain.

But, most people don't need to go there in my opinion. It's so extreme, it's such an intense detachment from the physical world (the world that like, you're supposed to be in) and I really think that a lot of people stand to gain very little by traveling inter-dimensionally and talking to aliens.

On top of that, lots of people do not use it in a responsible "let's learn something" manner. It's usually mixed in with cocktails of other drugs and done in the presence of the shittiest people (drug dealers aren't usually the best company).

Aubrey Marcus is obsessed with doing Ayahuasca, constantly talks about how great it is and how it's helped him...and is now posting online about how his girlfriend is in love with another man, how it's okay, and how he loves her and she still loves him. It's really disturbing...and I'm pretty open minded.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FAHU2_OyPbg

What could be less dignified than this? To me, this is where the psychedelic rabbit hole leaves you...detached from your humanity. Just because you can test the limits of your own existence DOES NOT mean you should, and that you're going to come out a "better person" as a result. Far from it.

RE: DMT - What The Fuck Is It All About
Owen Cyclops posted a very long twitter thread on DMT a couple of months ago. It's worth a read even if you don't believe anything in it. It's a real rollercoaster.

Compiled thread

Quote:alright so, it is time. this is going to be a long, winding, rambling thread. i posted yesterday about demons existing and this interesecting with the world of psychedelia. ive posted about this in the past a little and there is always a huge response, people are very into it.

the thing is ive been hesitant to paint the full picture as i see it for a few reasons. mostly because what i see as the full picture is an intersection of so many seemingly completely unrelated things that its quite a long walk between many seemingly disparate things.

its also seemed completely insane to me for some time. however at this point there are so many connections and threads that sync up that ive actually changed over from this being a crazy idea that i have to actually thinking that this is the most sane thing ive ever thought.

ill also go into some of my own experiences that ive never really discussed on here (funny as its been years of me posting). we’ll just get started. ill be using this as kind of a mock up of something id like to write more in full at some point soon.

dont think of this as me presenting evidence to convince you of anything, this is more me laying out certain pathways and connections so that anyone that would like to poke deeper into this stuff can do so. also im just some guy and am not an expert in anything.

Nothing like a ketamine high. I've never done DMT, but I know enough about DMT from secondhand resources and have deep firsthand experience with DMT-level psychedelics (salvia), DMT analogues (4-AcO-DMT), ketamine, DXM and exotic arylcyclohexylamines (3-MeO-PCP and 3-HO-PCP) to be able to tell you that dissociative highs are nothing like DMT trips.

A k-hole is a numb void filled with machinescapes of nothingness. A DMT trip is a living space filled with alchemical reflections of the beyond and neverever. Plus entities with intelligence equal to or greater than yours.

Also, we can sit around and compare singular DMT trips and how one person views DMT versus how another does, but I think a bigger question is begging an answer here: what the fuck is DMT really?

And "DMT is a psychoactive substance found in a variety of plants and animals blah blah blah" is not an appropriate answer, if you know what I mean. I mean, what is DMT? What is that space you get transported to during the trip? Where is that information coming from? How can it be so alien? How can it defy an Jungian archetypal structure but still happen entirely in our minds? Is it all in our minds?

Since psychonaut themes are getting more prevalent on the forum, maybe some of us more interested folk in this space can try to contribute something new in this regard. I don't think we've seen original contributions to the ontological discussion on DMT since Terence McKenna. That's a monumental task, though. ConfusedConfused

RE: DMT - What The Fuck Is It All About
I have extensive experience with ayahuasca from living in the Amazon region for 2.5 years and drinking it twice a month.
Nowadays, I drink ayahuasca once a month.
Here´s what it really does: it removes the perception filters that keep our consciousness focused on material reality.
The initial effects are always a sharpening of the 5 senses, followed by immersion in meditative state and opening of spiritual sight.
Spiritual sight is different from imagination. It is a concrete sense of perception that enables one to perceive visually inside other dimensions of existence.
In other words, ayahuasca is truly the "vine of souls", in that orally active DMT is a bridge between day to day material world and the metaphysical state of existence.
A well trained shaman or ayahuasquero can interact with immaterial beings for a variety of purposes, although they mostly focus on healing.

Like all plants, the 2 herbs used in the preparation of ayahuasca cause multiple effects in the body, or rather, a group of effects acting synergistically in order to fulfill a purpose.
Ayahuasca is a blood purifier and a purgative. Its tendency is to empty and clean the digestive system so that the ayahuasquero can focus completely on experiencing the unseen worlds.
There´s also a very curious medicinal action in the brew: it will reveal one´s psychological and life issues, as well as medical issues that lie hidden or overlooked.
In other words, it´s like getting a complete psychological and physical check up by a jungle doctor, hence its millenia old use as a tool of diagnosis by shamans.
