The best part of the shot is the unintentional hilarity of it implying she reproduced with a cat.

She wants people to be discriminated against based on their hair color and style?

Because a fattie with confidence is called "delusional."

Wtf. Outrageous! Confused

UK magazine changing the reputation of plus-size fashion

Quote:SLiNK, is the first UK plus-size magazine and is hitting the shelves in 15 different countries.

A new magazine is the changing the status of plus-size fashion.

Currently, plus-size is anything above a size eight, yet the average woman is size 14 to 16.

Moving away from the media's idea of thin, SLiNK is the first UK plus-size magazine and is hitting the shelves in 15 different countries.

Editor Rivkie Baum told The Independent they are hoping to "change the reputation of plus-size fashion" because "beauty and style doesn't stop at a size 8".

After the success of Vogues' all shapes and sizes' lingerie shoot this month it seems attitudes towards the term, plus-size, are changing.

Tapping into that idea, Baum said: "We believe that women are tired of seeing the same unobtainable image. Women today are much more savvy.

"As the plus-size retail sector continues to outgrow its straight-size counterpart, the market is crying out for an inspirational plus-sized publication."

While plus-size models are more realistic, the question of whether they are healthy has been asked.

Posting to Reddit, one user said, "I believe that plus-size models do not just raise the self-confidence of overweight and obese women/girls, they make them think that it is healthy."

In response to similar criticism, Baum said: "We are extremely conscious of our responsibility to promote a healthy body image both physically and mentally.

"In our next issue, we are introducing a new healthy eating and fitness column to further back this. But what we are also aware of is that health doesn't come in one dress size and there are numerous factors that play a part in our wellbeing.

"While many magazines promote crash diets, which are extremely unhealthy, we believe that empowering women to feel confident and good about themselves at whatever size they are can have knock-on effects on their overall health and lifestyle choices. It's about promoting health and happiness without suggesting it can only be achieved at one dress size."

Slink also has a strong Photoshop policy.

"We never Photoshop bodies smaller at all, we will do lighting corrections, light balance that kind of thing," Baum said.

The National Association of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders said almost 70 per cent of girls in grades five to 12 were influenced by magazine pictures.

On the other end of the scale, a paper on thinness and obesity said increasing the ideal body weight may worsen the increasing obesity problem.

"If people are overweight and on a diet, increasing the ideal body weight can improve overall utility, but it worsens health because it induces people to become even more overweight," researchers wrote.

Interestingly, increasing the ideal body weight would increase "welfare" and help remove negative feelings associated with unobtainable images in the media.

My girlfriend is disgusted by the victim mindset of people so she didn't have much to say on this subject
Without a doubt though skinny shaming is MUCH more common than fat shaming. I see her catching attitude and jealous looks from cows pretty regularly.
The only thing she has ever said is she feels or is concerned that some people will think she has a drug problem.
She's s size zero-two so she is little. But healthy. It's crazy to me that it has become less socially acceptable than being a fat disgusting obese cow

I think a thin-support week would be nice to have. A week were you point out the hypocrisy of thin shaming, but banning fat shaming. It might get support by the thin women who could spread it very far.

Granted a fat shaming week should be a yearly thing in my opinion.

“Fat acceptance” is yet another group of people on the internet coming up with rationalizations justifying bad behavior. Note to self: If I have to go to some random site on the internet to justify to myself what I am doing, I should change that behavior.

This will not be enough though - they will want other bigger and bigger "healthy" monsters to run down the runway:

One commentator said something funny as he traveled in the West after having spent time in the East. He said that he does not know how all those men stomach fucking their fat or obese wives. He admires their resolve, because he frankly could not stomach it. They must be iron men of boner and mind to deal with such a blob.

I sure as hell couldn't. When I worked in Silicon Valley, my options were either to get together with a fat chick, or to leave and hunt for pussy overseas. I opted to hunt for pussy overseas, even tough it put my career in a tailspin for about a decade.

Meanwhile, I just posted the images Zelcorpion of those vomit inducing, err, runway models to the boner killer thread.

Thin women do not need support. I've never met a thin woman who actually gave half a shit about "thin-shaming." They can obtain the men they desire, feel truly confident and healthy, and look in the mirror without cringing. If anything, I get the sense that thin women feel a slight burst of pride/superiority when "shamed."

Complaining about thin-shaming is totally the wrong angle to tackle the obesity problem. Instead, we should highlight the perks of being thin, emphasizing that they are well worth the cost of not eating like a disgusting pig and/or getting some exercise once in awhile.

"Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels." This quote needs to be plastered everywhere. Fuck all the feminists who think it promotes anorexia. It doesn't. Skinny does not equal anorexic.

Some mates were watching an Episode of Mythbusters on sexual attraction the other night where they had a large sample size of women to rate men by appearance / job, and another sample size for smell.

They were uniformly ugly and slovenly. We were laughing at how consistently low-value each woman was. Maybe the gays drive the hot girls away.

The show is shot in SF.

Jes Baker is back with another gem:

Quote:A man wrote a letter to Dear Prudence saying that he had “zero feelings” for his wife of 25 years, and mother of his three kids, as she had gain 50 pounds in the last 10 years which he referred to as a “major turnoff.” You can see his full question and Prudie’s answer (which I thought wasn’t too bad) here.

I was recently asked a similar question at a live event. The woman said that she had gained weight and her husband said he no longer found her attractive, and that she felt like it was her fault because she was thin when he married her. She asked me what I thought she should do.

I explained that I couldn’t tell her what to do, I could say what I think I would do. I would never marry someone who told me that they only wanted me if I was thin (or fat, or any thing other bit of physicality that might change over time.) But what happens if you’ve built a life with someone and then find out that they somehow believed that you wouldn’t change over time?

To Dear Prudie’s credit she did not suggest weight loss as a solution, but I’ve definitely seen this suggested before – as if we owe our spouses thinness. Many people say some form of “love and cherish each other for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health” but they get tripped up on simple physical changes.

How about some therapy for the spouse whose narrow view of beauty – and apparent delusion that their partner would always look the same as when they married them – is negatively affecting the marriage? What else is a divorce-able “offense”? Grey hair? Wrinkles? Disfigurement from an accident? Hair loss? Twenty-five years, three kids and a life built with someone, and this dude is still stuck on thin=beautiful, shocked that after 25 years and three kids, his wife looks different?

Some people may choose to stay, to try to change their picture until it fits their partner’s frame, and they are allowed to do that. Some people are not in a position to leave such a relationship for any number of reasons. Anyone who deals with this situation gets to make their choice for their reasons (and for some there really isn’t much of a choice), and that’s not for any of us to judge.

As for what I would do? Even if I had complete control over my body size, if someone I was in a relationship with told me that they were no long attracted to me because my weight or appearance had changed, I would likely offer to support them if they wanting counseling/therapy to deal with that issue and, if they wouldn’t or couldn’t work it out, I would leave as soon as possible and never look back.

While she thinks what she what she wants from psychiatry is dealing with "narrowly constructed norms of beauty" -- as if psychiatry could somehow alter a person's view of what is beautiful -- what she really means is that an issue of losing physical attraction for somebody is somehow a mental health issue.

This is a clear example of radical activists wanting to appropriate psychiatry for their individual political desires. This is common in recent memory on the Left. It suggests they see science not as a discipline searching for some objective truth, but a subjective endeavor whose value is tied to addressing personal issues. Losing attraction for your spouse because they are no longer physically desirable may be alot of things, but it certainly isn't a mental health issue.

Side note: notice how she says she has no control over her weight. All of this speaks to a personality that completely invested in the idea that it is easier to change the world around you than to change yourself.

As Steven Pressfield noted, Hitler was afflicted with the same idea. He wanted to be an artist. His first efforts failed. He didn't persevere. It was literally easier for him to start World War Two than face a blank canvas.

I thought I recognized the author's name. Ragen Chastain is a fat activist internet famous for "running" a marathon at 350+pounds (in 13 hours). Back when I was a reddit fag I'd see screenshots from her shitty blog on r/fatlogic all the time.

Here is a good summary of what she's all about. Basically she's the Anita Sarkeesian of fat acceptance. Only more corrupt, dishonest, and ugly.

Apparently she's training for an Ironman now...

These scum bags obviously forget that modelling isn't about the models, it's about the clothes. And clothes look best on rail thin models. The only item of clothing that could make a fattie look good is a poncho.

I would assume for just about everyone on the planet, training for the Ironman would result in weight loss unless your diet is straight twinkies and ice cream.
