Just finished "yellow cab, black passenger" by Stefhen Bryan. Good book, especially for black men thinking about moving to Japan.

Let us try to maintain a higher standard of life than that of the multitude, but not a contrary standard; otherwise, we shall frighten away and repel the very persons whom we are trying to improve.

Animal Farm by Orwell. What a great book! A critique on communism which was very entertaining in its simplicity.

I've finished Dante's Inferno.

Next up is Purgatorio but I'm having a little trouble with motivation for that one.

RE: Whenever you finish a book, post it here
I just read Wolf of the Wall Street and Catching the Wolf of the Wall Street. The first book tells Jordan Belfort’s story until his arrest, the second book tells his life after the arrest. 90 % of the movie is about the first book while the second book is mostly absent in the movie.

It was amazing read in overall. Do not think that watching the movie will make reading the book pointless, because it’s doesn’t. The first half of the first book is pretty much identical to the movie, even the dialogues, but the rest of the books mostly do not exist in the movie and you will be surprised more often than not.

A few notes: I had heard a lot of critics about the movie, saying that it glorified a criminal and debaucherous lifestyle and shit. I thought these critics were all horse shit, just the typical whining of feminists who can’t stand seeing a straight man fucking around. After reading the book, I changed my mind. The book contains mostly the negative parts of Belfort’s life and decisions, while the movie simply cherry-picked the fun and glorious side of his life. In that sense, it is actually true that the movie did glorify what should not have been glorified. You will read the true life story of a man who pathetically suffered from drug addiction and greed.

In short, I recommend these 2 books that complete each other to anyone who liked the movie. And if you have a positive opinion on his lifestyle, the books will change your mind.

I might buy it; I've compulsively-read anything I've been able to find on Porfirio Rubirosa and his friends and associates. Perhaps you would be interested in this article written by Taki Theodoracopulos in The Telegraph after Gunter Sachs' suicide.

Haha, given your username I thought you'd have read the book by now. Definitely worth the read.

Good link on Sachs, thanks for that.

Well, I just bought! As for my username, I decided to use it mostly as a tribute to a compatriot I admire in this time when Dominican immigrants around the world have given my country and its people such a bad reputation.

The Columbine Pilgrim by Andy Nowicki
My curiosity was peaked after it was recommended on ROK
I couldn't put it down - finished in in a day. It was really compelling stuff with lashings of schadenfreude that spoke to me on a personal level with regards to my own childhood experiences.
Definitely recommend.

Casino Royal by Ian Flemming.
Cool to see how it compared to the modern day movie. Red pill book

"If you meet every day with optimism - if you confront every obstacle with determination - if you refuse to give up, if you never give up, if you face every challenge with confidence and pride - then there is no goal you cannot achieve, and no dream beyond your reach!"

RE: Whenever you finish a book, post it here
Having recently discovered the Manosphere I've read these books in the last month:

- Men on Strike: Why Men Are Boycotting Marriage, Fatherhood, and the American Dream - and Why It Matters by Helen Smith PhD
- The Way Of Men by Jack Donovan
- The Rational Male by Rollo Tomassi
- Bachelor Pad Economics: The Financial Advice Bible for Menby Aaron Clarey

Saying these books worked as eye – openers is an understatement. I wish I would have read them sooner, when I was 18... But living in Slovenia where no such books exist or are talked about there was no other way than pure chance to stumble upon them. And I am glad that I was lucky enough. Smile

Romans 8:31 - 'What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?'

My notes.

Bought it today after reading your comment. First of his I've read and although I'm only 20 pages in you can already feel the cold feeling less world of the mid 80's that we associate with Bateman. I have high hopes.
