China Bans Models from Auto Show
http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/cove...cid=SMSDHP

Quote:Scantily clad female models draped over car bonnets were conspicuous by their absence as China's premier auto show opened on Monday, after such displays were reportedly banned.

Past auto shows in Shanghai and elsewhere in China featured "car models" -- "che mo" in Chinese -- who shot to fame for the skimpiness of their outfits, with netizens dubbing the phenomenon "selling flesh".

According to a directive leaked to Chinese media, organisers of this year's event aimed to bring attention back to the curves of the vehicles, and create an "orderly, clean, safe" atmosphere.

The move also followed a deadly New Year's Eve stampede in Shanghai, which prompted the government to crack down on events which could cause dangerous overcrowding.

Like veteran bird-watchers, show visitors swapped accounts of real and possibly imagined models. "We saw some people looking model-ish around there," an industry official said.

Japan's Toyota substituted a row of young men in black polo shirts. "We're just standing here. We're not models," one said when asked about his role.

Suzuki Motor Corp. did have women models alongside its cars, but fully covered in all-white dresses with fashionable scarves around their necks.

According to the leaked directive, organisers had urged exhibitors to "Put an end to the phenomenon of all types of vulgarity, harm to civilised society and ill-intentioned sensationalism," ordering them to provide visitors with "artistic enjoyment" instead.

Ford lacked models, but the US automaker substituted two dancers interacting with computer images on a giant screen to launch its new Taurus into the China market.

They even went through a rapid costume change on stage, but with their modesty preserved -- by a curtain for the man and a red flag for the woman.

I just saw this as I opened my browser. The ban doesn't appear to be influenced by feminist stupidity, but I do find it humorous that it essentially shows that the recent drives to ban booth babes and the like are paralleled by authoritarian dictatorships.

Which shows you the pathology of these people.

Good.

Time for some truth in advertising.

It's not like the cars are hard to look at or something.

Thank you China.

So rather than relying on beautiful women to get eyes on the cars you're telling me they actually have to be creative? Laugh

I believe this came about because of that incident where some idiots threw fake money off a balcony and hundreds rushed to get a piece, killing several and injuring many more. I'm not surprised by the authorities in China on this sort of thing.

The interesting thing is that China, Russia and all Western countries are under the control of the same banking group. Sometimes they do things in tandem to remind us of that fact.

They actually banned this last year. This is kinda old. The reason why is because it got to a point where models were nearly naked. China does not allow porn and does not allow public displays of anything we would call borderline porn.

A handful of automakers kinda ruined it for everyone. When one model had a silvery Janet Jackson thing covering her tits, the end was near. They were battling for attention and too many men were going for the babes and not the cars. I think some people almost got trampled. The event was not a family like atmosphere, which is the wrong kind of attention if you know how China works.

That's the one!!!! I remembered because some male Chinese friends of mine were calling me asking me if I had seen her at the auto show. I was like, "Um...no, should I have seen it?" When that many Chinese dudes are trippin like that, you know something will go down....

WOW, someone in the Chinese Government really knows what they're doing over there! I'm pretty sure they understand what's happening in the west with porn, drugs rampant masturbation, and feminism etc. . . Say what you will about the Chinese Gov, but they sure seem to know what builds and keeps a society moving. (Control over its women and it's citizen's sexuality.)

Japanese AV is still somewhat rampant with the male youth though. Softcore/clothed S Korean and Taiwanese gravure(sp?) photos and videos are common too. Still common for me to meet one that still has not seen any porn at all from time to time.

Every blue moon they find a bunch of video sites like Redtube like sites and they do a mass purge or ban of the sites and that makes the news because the effect is felt. VPN can be very slow when trying to stream porn. IF you know who to ask in China, you can buy DVDs of it. Reminds me of the days people used to burn CDs in the US on the street of your favorite rappers, mixtapes, etc.

Realistically, P4P, while technically illegal is rampant and easy to access and find. They really don't have to sit at home and play with trigger if they don't want to. Mental health wise, p4p is less damaging than porn in alot of ways.

Japan may have alot of sexually repressed males running around, but China sure as hell does not have nearly as many as they do percentage wise.

Do you really think that this stops anyone from masturbating and watching porn in China? Laugh Laugh Laugh

It's really just a throw back to the moralization of the early CCP era.

EDIT: sorry, this comment is in response to CJ_W.

No dude - just because they don't have western liberal feminist style hypergamy doesn't mean they have checked female hypergamy. It just rears itself in other ways. China is a very materialistic society - the supply side labor pressure + rampant corruption means eye-gouging amounts of wealth disproportionately accumulate at the top. Yes, without western style feminism women keep slim (also because they are asian and are naturally petite) and relatively feminine, but that just means the better Chinese pussy is being hoarded by the elite. It goes to the tycoons and rich government officials, then probably the white collar cream, then expats, then the white collar masses, then the actual masses (the majority of the country). Throw in a gender imbalance (more men than women) and that's a raw deal for the vast majority of Chinese men. I would much rather be your average American guy than your average Chinese guy. That may change in the next 50 years, but the former is still the better deal.

The basic red pill truths distilled into good social policy would be the following: try to achieve a society in which women are taught to be feminine, domesticated, and subservient to men + the pussy is relatively evenly distributed (obviously hypergamy still exists and the top will get more than the bottom, but the "gini coefficient" for pussy should be as low as possible). China is nowhere close to that society, and there aren't many societies in the world that are like that. I think the only one that comes close is post-ww2 America (it helps that lots of men died from the war) and earlier.

In fact, I would argue any type of sexual prohibition as it pertains to men is an exceedingly bad idea in China's environment. Shit's already bad enough for the average guy - don't make it harder for them to achieve peaceful sexual outlets. I suppose the CCP's view is that instead of providing pressure valves for male discontent, it will just create and maintain an omnipresent state apparatus that suppresses any form of male expression.

The CCP is not red pill. The founding fathers may have been red pill (questionable, but plausible), but the current crop of elites sure are not. They are the privileged children of the revolution's founders. They don't know shit about sexual hypergamy because pussy has been handed to them on silver platters their entire lives. No matter how much time Xijinping spends touring the countryside or mingling with the masses, he is by definition completely out of touch with ordinary people.
