This is what is trending now, if you pull this off in any setting which I doubt most guys would even attempt to do you are setting apart yourself quite differently.

Sure you can dress James Bond GQ style, anyone can do that. Who Cares? Wearing "tennis shoes" shows that you understand suiting while going for something different.

If chicks are opening you commenting on a particular clothing item that you are wearing, you are doing it right. Think outside the box.
Wearing a particular jacket that enables a girl to come up to you to want to touch it.

How many suits do you own?

How often do you suit up?

Is this a look you've personally succeeded at?

Do you understand that "thinking outside the box" does not justify looking ridiculous?

Do you understand that regardless of what is "trending right now," 99% of guys will look ridiculous trying to pull off the suits & runners look?

Call me out of touch, but man that just looks gay as fuck, or something a little boy would wear. I don't give a shit about fashion trends. A proper well-fitted suit is timeless.

I follow you on this but my point was to illustrate that suits are made as something else today, from less formal to casual...
The tailor I talked to make those short/suits and the fact is that it sells like buns in a 3rd world country.

Now some of us due to age, experiences & values will tell you that this kind of deviance from formal to beach suit is bullshit... As you said fashion is mostly made for women...

Tell them too much, they wouldn't understand; tell them what they know, they would yawn.

Looks, ridiculous, actually. Reminds me of high school when guys wore chuck taylors with their prom suits to try being cool. tennis shoes make this guys whole outfit look wack.

All you suit wearers must live somewhere that is always 70 degrees farenheit or less. I have never lived anywhere wher wearing a suit is a viable option, thus at my advanced age I have only wore a suit once in my life and that was for my brothers wedding. Still never learned to tie a tie. There is a lot more to mens fashion than suits. I for one prefer loose linens as they are comfortable in heat and don't restrict my range of movement. Never know when you might have to roundhouse kick to back-spinning elbow someone in the face, you know.

Nothing wrong with dressing fromally yet there are many looks wich don't involve suit and tie.

Cool story bruh. Let me know when you can get 138k likes on a instagram pic wearing "tennis shoes". You clearly don't know about intricacies of a suit and how he pulls it off. Look up Thom Browne and you may get an idea.

Suits are trending now towards wearing shorts, sneakers, patterns, fit, louder ties, patterned shirts.

Only cause you are a young kid with no sense of style, classic modern or otherwise.
Monkeys should know better than to pull a lion tails, bruh. Please tell me, Mr. Style, WTF is an instagram like, and how would that have anything to do with anything. The guy is a good looking model and is dressed like you, a fucking clown.
His clothes are killing his look not helping it. Classic is classic for a reason. Wearing a suit with sneakers is a rookie, newbie, never been laid in their life move.

At least if you were as good-looking as that model I could understand, but your not.
Post the link to your fucked up ass style and you 140K likes, please.
Douche.

Oh yeah , as you lose the sneakers wear a fucking belt if your shirt is tucked in or you look fucking retarded.

Totally made for women

Another thought - suits are easy. It's much harder to combine unrelated pants and jacket into a fly outfit - you need more versatility and colors etc. With a suit, half your outfit it set. Forget the tie, wear some decent shoes and pick a shirt with a complementary, never identical pattern, pocket square.

Any of you suit wearers who also workout regularly run into problems with outgrowing your suits? Right now I do not own a suit that fits me, and I'm honestly hesitant to get one made if I'm still on that gain-train and will grow out of that one in the near future as well. Should I just hold off until I'm at a body size I plan to stay at for a long time, or should I get a suit made that has a little bit of room? Do they make high-quality suits that have stretchy materials?

I experienced that problem.

Two of my suits are getting tight for me in the crotch and the upper leg area, and I can barely close the suit jacket. I bought these when I was 83 kg. Now, I am 91 kg (gained mostly muscle, and a little bit of fat as well. Aiming for 110 kg). I might have to get rid of them soon. Pity...they are very nice... .

Now, if you really need a suit, get one from some second hand store, or some auction on Ebay.

What I suggest is that you avoid (if possible) buying any suits before you hit you body size goal(s). When you eventually reach your goal, then you can start building your wardrobe.

Trust me, letting a nice suit go (custom made Pal Zileri)...ain't fun Sad

Thanks for the advice comrade. I didn't think about checking second hand stores. I suppose one could find pretty decent threads in there. I wonder if it's possible to find anything of quality at a TJ Maxx or Ross. I know you can find fantastic denim there as well as underwear and socks.

You can find pretty neat stuff, for very cheap prices. I mean, if I have managed to find a Canali (yes, genuine Canali) suit for like 20$ in my country, you can probably find something in the thrift stores in your area.

The only thing you need is to be patient. With a little bit of luck, you will snatch something.

Bro, we're on the same side. I was responding to the video with the high fashion dweeps walking around dressed like Eddie Munster (suits with shorts).

Suits are a timeless style, no doubt.

Maybe wearing a suit makes you more powerful. Or maybe people who are already powerful are just more likely to wear a suit. I believe it is the latter.

I usually wear a suit, but when I don't, the difference is night and day.

When I put on some nice trousers, a crisp button-up, a pair of slick shoes and a tie I feel like a million bucks. Dressing a particular way certainly affects your attitude.

Its an issue for sure. For that I'm glad I wear suits now and not 6 - 7 years ago when I start to bulk up. Now I don't put on that much muscles any more. The go up and down phase is a mess up for shirts and pants. So personal I had just some shirts and decent pants back them, no full suit.

As I mention before adjust the suit as well. Don't need to be tailor made when its one of your first suits. Almost every decent store that offers suits provide a fitting service. Wide shoulders, small hips, thick legs is a mess up for any clothing line. When you go to a good store, get good service you can buy a standard suit and let it adjust. Now it looks very smooth.
I did start with 2 suits. For each of them I did also buy 2 pants. You never know what happen to your pants so have a backup pair is nice. Furthermore later find some in the exact same colour and the waiting for them to be adjust and fitted on you take a long time. So just buy two pair of pants with each suit. Also when you wear a suit regular at some point the pants will get more used then the blazer or the shirt.

And never buy clothes in advance for your future size. Especially a suit will mostly not fit then. Then you wasted a lot of money for a suit you can't wear now and that mostly will not fit in the future.

We will stand tall in the sunshine
With the truth upon our side
And if we have to go alone
We'll go alone with pride

For us, these conflicts can be resolved by appeal to the deeply ingrained higher principle embodied in the law, that individuals have the right (within defined limits) to choose how to live. But this Western notion of individualism and tolerance is by no means a conception in all cultures. - Theodore Dalrymple

I think it's in your head. Makes you feel like you have armour on.

I feel just as confident in shorts and a T-shirt.

A suit is great for attracting gold diggers like a magnet however.

As a young guy I still dont see a suit win out against blazer + designer jeans, unless its an informal, color suit.

I love my tailored charcoal suit, but however I dress it it just doesnt have the fun and relaxed vibe of a well cut designer blazer (mine is The Kooples) + designer jeans. Both convey style but the blazer is more fun, while the suit conveys a bit more authority. I just dont see how authority trumps fun in most pick up situation.

Looking to save up money for some game-designated suit like these:

Was at a networking event recently with a navy blazer, popping blue shirt, light grey pants, monkstraps and pocket square. Lots of other guys around with full suit and tie, though I got complimented. You don't always have to be the most dressed to be the best dressed, though having a well fitting blazer + pocket square is key for higher end events.
