Dumbass Smoker...overweight...
Yup that's me.
I'm handsome, though, funny and well off...and never had a problem getting ass.
Big build - 6'2", 280lbs...carry the weight well - everyone 'guesses' I'm about 240 or so...I would say they are just being polite but I'm talking 99% of people say this.
I am athletic. Love playing sports but hate the gym. Tennis 4 times a week in the summer and my gym schedule is pitiful. I go through spurts where I'm there 4 days a week for 6 months. Then once a month for 6 months.

Love to eat but have always been careful.
No soda, candies, cakes, cookies, chips...no junk. Weaknesses historically have been late night snacking, oversized portions and empty mid day calories...

And the fucking smoking. Hacking about 6-8 darts a day....not good obviously but not a chimney.

My willpower sucks. I need a plan that I know I can stick to but I haven't found one that I can follow through with. IF seems interesting and if like to fast from 8pm to lunchtime everyday (maybe hit the gym while on empty and then eat)

I just can't seem to find the motivation.

Fuck's sake.

Not sure what you are asking for? Seems like you have your shit together.

If you need motivation, no one can give that to you.

Someone once said I can coach you on anything but motivation, that comes from within.

Not sure if you noticed one of the links was was the link to the weightlifting and fitness section. Or my sarcasm.

You want to get some real input you just say you're fat and want to lose weight. When people build themselves up before admitting to something it seems very defensive. Based on your intro you say you have been lurking. Then you should have an idea then how guys get received here depending on how they behave. Not searching tends to annoy people as does starting threads when there are plenty of threads to add on to. Big baller posts tend to be the most annoying.

I am just guessing that things are not as rosy as you paint it but you are not comfortable to just straight up ask for help in a humble way. There have been some great new guys who come on here and you can sense the sincerity in their posts. And people go out of their way to give them a hand. Not only because of their sincerity but often they bring lessons about life to share with the community. Oftentimes they are very tough lessons they are sharing. Things like divorce etc.

Try searching on words like motivation and slump. There are lots of threads. Good luck on your journey.

One thing I can promise you is that you have a lot more body fat than you think you do and it will take longer to shift than you think it will.

Be prepared for an almighty commitment.

I used to be the worst smoker I knew. Two packets a day for years. Alan Carr's "easy way to give up smoking" got me to quit. Don't delay. Get it now.

I know the big baller troll is still out there but he probably wasn't lying when he said he wanted to lose weight, he just went around the wrong way of asking it.

Probably the quickest way of doing it would be to do Lyle MacDonald's Rapid Fat Loss Diet (which is a protein sparing modified fast). It's going to be hard but follow the instructions carefully and it should give you exactly what you want.

Here is the link -> http://www.bodyrecomposition.com/the-rap.../#purchase

To be honest I would get your weight under control (which here would mean steadily lose) before trying to quit smoking. Dieting involves quitting drinking as well which makes quitting smoking significantly easier.

That's like an immutable fact right there. I'm doing a summertime cut for a boat outing in August and it seems like I've got a lot more body fat than I realized.

RE: Dumbass Smoker...overweight...
I smoked a pack to a pack and a half a day for 5, maybe 6 years.

I quit cold turkey by getting hammered and chainsmoking for eight hours straight, must have had three packs that night. It was a bad night for reasons I don't care to get into. The next morning I didn't even want to look at a cigarette, much less get out of bed. After a couple days it struck me that the worst part of the withdrawal was over, so I kept going.

I might have one or two when I go out now, but it's not a habitual thing like I used to do.

Your mileage may vary, it worked for me. Rolling my own cigarettes helped a ton, too. It's easier to quit off pipe tobacco than it is off your regular commercial Marlboro Reds.

RE: Dumbass Smoker...overweight...
I stopped smoking when I started lifting weights. I came in one day after I smoked a pack (or two) the day before. I felt like total shit and had to leave less than 20 minutes in.

RE: Dumbass Smoker...overweight...
I can vouch for regular lifting helping tremendously to quit smoking. Especially when you throw some cardio in there. A few minutes doing sprints after a night of heavy smoking and you will be pretty motivated to quit. At least for me, when I started making healthier lifestyle choices, quitting the cigarettes was just a natural progression. I still smoke occasionally however, and I'm not going to lie I have caved a few times when drinking and bought a pack or two.
