Reselling High Profile Sneakers (Easy Solid Hustle)
As my first thread here on Roosh V forums I thought it would be nice to tell you guys a solid side hustle I've been doing lately. Just this week I've made 2700$ through reselling high profile sneakers. I'll tell you all about it.

Past Friday (22nd of August) the Yeezy Boost 350 black edition sneakers were launched. The retail price is $250, and they were available on Adidas official store, footlocker, Mr porter and a bunch of other Fashion stores/websites.

The trick to this is just buying the shoes at launch time, because they will be sold out really quick. I managed to snatch 2 pairs before they were sold out. After you've received the shoes it's time for the 2nd step.

This step involves downloading an app called "Depop". It lets you set up your own store in a sort of Instagram kind of way: you take pics of the item you're selling, and attach a price to it. Users can leave comments, reviews and follow you on your profile. It's a kind of digital boutique but just for you.

Now, here is the best part. Because these Yeezy boost 350 sneakers were so high profile and decently limited, the price of these baby's has now risen to $1600 on Depop. You can easily sell them to these crazy sneakerheads who will literally pay this amount for a pair of shoes. My 2 pairs were sold today both for $1600 a pair.

Here's the math: $1600 x 2 = $3200 - $500 (initial purchase price) = $2700 pure profit in 3 days. You might need to deduct a few bucks from that number for shipping costs, or you can just let the buyer pay them.

These high profile sneakers typically get released every few months. It's not just Yeezy's only either. There are some dudes out there that will pay an enormous amount for some exclusive Jordans or Huaraches. You just need to find which sneakers get hyped, buy them immediately at launch time at retail price and then resell them for a big fat profit.

Questions? Ask away!

DISCLAIMER: I'm in no way affiliated with Adidas, Kanye West, Depop or Nike.

RE: Reselling High Profile Sneakers (Easy Solid Hustle)
I really wanted a pair of these Yeezy Boosts. How much better is this versus consigning it to a semi-popular sneaker reseller (who takes a commission)?

Also, what are the percentage of scammers who buy these shoes from you? I don't usually trust internet buyers, especially with these type of items which is why I think a legit brick and mortar is a bit safer (especially with the existence of fakes)

Also, what is the most "sellable" size?

Scammers are not really your problem at all. They buy via Depop, who acts as a middleman and handles all the trouble. They do take a very hefty 10% commission which I furiously hope is going down when they get real popular or get bought out by Ebay or some big company.

Fakes are also not a problem if you are just there to resell legit shoes. Users will leave a review on your profile after purchase which gets you more and more trust over time.

Best sellable sizes are just the average shoe sizes. Would round up to full sizes instead of half sizes.

Follow some fashion blogs like Highsnobiety and Complex on Instagram and you'll know it when a new hyped up sneaker is about to be released. They'll start posting images of these new shoes weeks before they are released to start the hype.

How much appreciation over the long term do these shoes generate?

Thanks for posting this.

Do you just buy the shoes straight up when they launch? I heard some people use bots to insta-buy them

I'm interested in how you are sourcing your kicks, and grabbing them before they sell out. Back in high school and college, I was into Js and retro Nikes pretty heavily and it wasn't as hard to get the exclusives, but I have been steadily been selling off my collection recently. One reason, is that the quality sucks and it got insanely competitive to grab a pair, especially when you consider the bots that people employ for online orders. The fact is that unless you have a good plug this will be a difficult hustle to pull off since there's tons of resellers with the same agenda.

I've noticed some of the Christian Louboutin sneakers sell out really fast on their website then pop up on ebay with a much higher price.

I don't know the figures for the Yeezy Boost 350's, but I do know that the Nike Yeezy's are still worth about 1.2k since they came out a few years ago.

Yeah some people do that but there is always enough time to grab a few pairs yourself if you're quick. If you are good with a computer/programming you should consider writing a bot for them yourself.

Wherever there's money to be made, people will automate that shit. However, I find that you can still grab a few pairs despite all the bots. Just sit there at your computers with a few tabs open for different websites and you should be allright.

See, that's what I'm talking about. The difference in price you see on Ebay is your profit margin.

How often do you buy and lose money on deals or shoe styles?

I assume your example was a really good day. I assume there will be marginal profit deals.

And no doubt there would be situations where you buy some shoes and resell at a loss.

How to pick up a waitress: "Oh one other thing...do you ever date patrons" (in a slow paced cadence)
How to pick up random girl: "Hi, I'm heavy (with smirk). Do you ever go out with a guy you just met" (in a slow paced cadence)

This was indeed a good day and these days don't happen each day unfortunately. You're right that there also some marginal profit deals are but the key to this is just to make an estimate of the surrounding hype for the shoe. The Yeezy Boost shoes were hyped in the media for weeks and they are the most wanted shoes in the world of this moment.

The more hype about the shoe, the higher its resell value will be and the faster the item will be sold out in retail.

It's your job to make a good estimate about the hype of the launch and then decide if you want to buy the shoe and resell it. Hang around some sneaker forums and fashion instagram accounts to checkout the hype surrounding the sneakers.

Good thread, brought back some memories since I used to do this back in high school and it was my only source of income at the time.

I would only sell Jordans and limited edition Nike SB though. The most common shoe size to resell is 9 and 10

An other great example. This is of course very rare to sell a pair for 23k, but selling pairs in the 1500-2000 is pretty common.

If I met someone willing to pay 23k for a crappy pair of shoes, I'd tell them I had a bridge to sell them too...

They who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety- Benjamin Franklin, as if you didn't know...

Great post ovo. I was actually thinking about doing this the other day. I work in a sneaker store and one of my coworkers sells shoes on the down low on ebay. Also wanted your opinion on hyped releases coming up this month. I think the Anthracite 9s, Gucci foamposites, What the LeBron 12s, and especially Drake's ovo 10s will resell for a high profit.

I'm thinking this Air Jordans vs Supreme collaboration is going to be a "hot seller" on the retail market.
https://instagram.com/p/831uDFxenh/?taken-by=hypebeast

The Supreme followers are idiots, they spend a ton of money on their shirts that just say "Supreme" if they are limited edition.
http://www.complex.com/style/2012/07/the...t-supreme/

http://www.magneticmag.com/2015/10/supre...ion-drops/

Quote:The Jordan V was the first Jordan that I ever got my hands on, they were the black ones and pretty much didn't leave my feet until the tread wore off. I've been a Supreme fan for a long time, their simple and often irreverant slogans have been a fave since the early 00s.

So to see these two things together is well, completely insane to this semi-retired sneaker freak. When I was doing Vapors Magazine back in the 00s I will admit, there was a sneaker problem in my house, boxes and boxes and boxes of the best shoes were constantly arriving at our offices out (except Visvim, they never hooked us up).

There was also a vinyl problem, but that's another story.

So to see these two brands come together with one of the cleanest collabs in some time just might bring me back intot the game, at least for a short hot minute. Good luck getting your hands on these, they've already quadrupled in price and they aren't even out yet.

I imagine if you are able to get these for around $200, you could probably resell at a minimum $1500.

I just stumbled across some store than sells old Fila, Reeboks pump for $39, old Patrick Ewing shoes.

Are they worth anything?

Looks like the Supreme Jordans are going between $600-800 right now.

The shoes you mentioned, especially the Filas are probably not worth much in terms of turning a large resale profit, since they are manufactured in relatively high numbers and generally easy to find in high profile retailers like Finishline and on Reebok's online store. The same goes for the Reeboks's and Patrick Ewing's. The caveat would be if you somehow got a special edition, could get them for significantly less than $100 dollars, or had a pair from the first batch ever released especially those that were endorsed by a star like Allen Iverson or Shaq. I would recommend searching on eBay to get a feel for the prices before you bought anything.

Some exceptions that might be worth trying to resell are:
Old Shaq Retro Reeboks Pumps
Old Grant Hill Filas
