If I were to give you free housing, medical care, space to practice whatever religion and customs you want and not have the death squads at your door and on top of that I give you free money and no real urge to employ you, would you not take them?

He was the weaker part in a coaltion with a supposedly anti-establishment party. His popularity in Italy is at the highest level of all politicians, so I guess they did not want him to continue gaining points.
Politics 101 frankly - if you don't rule with huge support like Orban of over 70% singlehandendly, then you get kicked out fast.
His coalition partner that backstabbed him - ran on a platform of opposing the EU, but now are working with the biggest shills - go figure.

RE: Migrant invasion of Europe
Because Salvini knows even if the 5-star backstab him, it will only make him more popular in the long run. Either that the country dies. Salvini strikes me as a zero fucks given kind of guy. He's gonna try to do what it takes to keep the country alive, and if it don't work, then whatever. He gave his people a chance and if they reject it, Salvini won't lose sleep over it.
Salvini will run again next elections tell the people they vote for him or their country is lost and doomed to swarms of Africans. And he won't be wrong, and the next few years till an election will be a big dose of enrichment for everyone. If this doesn't wake the people up, nothing will.

Initially, in the coallition between Salvini's Lega Nord and the anti establishment Cinque Stelle party, they were more popular, got more votes and had more power. But with time Salvini's profile skyrocketed and he gained so much popularity with his anti immigration policies that his Lega Nord sweeped the elections for the european parliament while the popularity of Cinque Stelle plummeted and suddenly the situation was different - Lega was the strongest party in the country, but Cinque Stelle had more power in the government due to their initial coallition agreement. Salvini wanted to change that so he was pushing to force new elections (by breaking down current government) which he would be expected to win, but as I said the scheme backfired on him when Cinque Stelle managed to form a majority government with other parties, and Salvini was ousted from the government.
He was pushing for more power indeed, but the fact remains is that they backstabbed him. Already within the coalition he was becoming the far more powerful leader everyone looked up to.
And unless something unexpected happens then he will come out stronger, but it will take years. Also the 5-star party has been shown to be for what they are, so this is likely the end of theirs - not that they really care.
It will still be years while Italy continues to be overrun.

I disagree. Look at the US-Mexico borders. Just arresting people won't do anything. They will just try it again next month. And especially Muslims/African do not care about getting arrested or some mild bitchslap. You have to teach them with violence. You cross the border illegally? We will shoot up a couple of you guys and send the rest back. Illegal immigration would IMMEDIATELY be solved.
Immigration in general from people of those countries (if they come legally of course or else --> gun in your face) has to be tough as well. They only respond well with tough "love", as they do it in their own countries since the beginning of time. A turkish guy once told me, if a turkish guy would behave the same here than back in Turkey, he would be beaten up in a heartbeat. When even Muslims are tired of Muslims, you know something is wrong.
Just last week in Swiss newspapers, we had a story that immigrants went back to Syria or whatever other countries they "fled" from, to make a summer holiday. Absolutely no respect. They do it in Germany aswell. Holiday from the place they "had to escape". They do it because they know, it will only get them some mild bitchslap from a leftie social worker. "Mohamed pls, that's not nice okay? No Kebab for one week!"
They laugh at us. They do not care. They only respond well with harsh consequences. I know this sounds all a bit over the top, but it's just the sad reality. They are like dogs.
You cant tell your dog in a baby voice, to not shit on your carpet again and again. You need to teach it, who exactly is the Boss in your house. Again and again.

What happens to someone illegally entering Saudi Arabia? No idea exactly, but it's certainly instant prison sentenc, followed by quick deportation and a lifetime ban for re-entry into all gulf countries.
Those punishments are dished out by the Saudis towards workers who OVERSTAY THEIR VISAS!!!!!
Obviously borders have to be secured, but if the shitheads knew that they would get zero money, instant lifetime band deportation when being caught by any cop anytime, no money, just a prison stint before deportation, then they would not come.
You don't even have to shoot at anyone. But of course they know that the opposite happens - even if they don't get asylum instantly, they stay and are left in Europe to roam around, then maybe re-apply with a different fake passport. Deportation is also difficult since the NGOs are aiding them to prevent that.
Nah - it would be instant prison, then military deportation. Boats would be intercepted and pulled back. If they destroy their boats to let the military have to aid them - then we can argue on what to do then. But even then - they would be instantly arrested and then shipped back to where they came from. If they don't want to, then no problem - I am sure that one Italian or Greek island can be redesigned to be a giant concentration camp. Plus their identities are registered and then banned for life. So they will never ever be able to even enter for holiday, let alone stay and apply for anything in Europe.
That is what the gulf states are doing and I like that.
