The Star Wars thread
I am seeing a disturbing trend in Hollywood movies, they want to shove their feminist ideology everywhere. Star Wars is a movie for BOYS that's the main target audience, why does this 'tomboy' Rey need to be in the poster? What's the point of having a subversive character like that? They've even replaced Boba Fett for a ugly woman with a short-hair cut.

They want to add more females lead characters for the sequel. Just like they are invading 'male only' space like strip clubs, they want to set up their circus in male only movies-Mad max.

You don't see me complaining if there are no strong male characters in chick flicks.

There is an androgynous woman in a metallic storm tropper outfit. They made a fuss about that too. A guy made a comment "Not to be sexist but its hard to tell that's woman's armor to me. And of course you get this excellent example of journalism claiming its sexism.

Disney owns the franchise now, so this is only the beginning. They are at the forefront of reshaping western culture. Expect to see homosexuals and transgenders in forthcoming movies.

Weren't there a few of those in the pre-Disney EU? Though they were rather obscure characters IIRC.

I always thought C3P0 was kinda gay.

Anyway, it's already happening:

http://www.cnn.com/2015/03/10/entertainm...character/

From the demand to be (over)represented to remaking Ghostbusters with women, the question always is, why don't they just come up with their own material instead of demanding (over)representation in already established franchises?

Perhaps we are being unfair, after all, according to the NHIS, 1.6% of the American population is gay. Which according to SJW math, means they have to be represented in everything.

In all seriousness, why not just go ahead and create an original space adventure with gay/women characters? Don't they have any shame that all they are doing is latching on to creations made by (evil) straight white men?

RE: Star Wars does not need lead "strong" females characters
Ah, who cares at this point. Star Wars is done; it has made its permanent contribution to the world's art and culture during a period of unparalleled artistic genius and verve. The Star Wars films that mattered were made in the late 70s and early 80s. It's done and left for us to absorb, savor, and reference in loving memes.

Any attempt to extend it to this time is destined to be equally stillborn, presenting a texture as deadly and evacuating as the original was rich and nourishing. Nothing more appropriate than for a DYKE to be the avatar of this blankness.

Just another attempt at the reeducation of America. It aint working. Nobody gives a fuck except for some useless underemployed dikes on twitter.
Star Wars lost its mojo when Lucas started revising his movies. Han shot first, it was an epic intro to a dark character that was moving toward redemption and then, he didnt.

Sigh; this forced female representation in pop media only gives me the extremely strong impression how the media powers endorse The Thirst.

It's already bad enough even Sprite has its "Obey Your Thirst" advertisement campaign going on for 20 years and counting (read: a generation).

Man I remember when Phantom Menace came out. The 90s were coming to an end and everyone was so excited for the 2000s to be upon us. New Star Wars movies using computer animation!

I hated it from the get-go. I think it took some people a little time to admit to themselves that the movies are just bad. In a way, Episodes 1-3 were a harbinger of things to come from Hollywood over the next decade.

Compared to the collapse of the EU, happening right now before our eyes, Star Wars seems somewhat trivial.

I am fed up of these people normalizing all their degenerate ideologies. They are evil not the poor chumps who want to learn pick up and self-improvement. Yet, we are the one's getting marginalized.

Heh, for a second I thought you were referring to the Star Wars EU (Expanded Universe) that Disney threw out the window.

I, for the most part, have lost interest in Star Wars as a result (yeah it was filled with crap, but there was some decent stuff in there, too), but that said, the escapism from the hard news/realities is welcome every once in a while (How much can one person take of all this?). While I do agree that it's trivial, there's also cultural/entertainment fight out there as well - it's not all governments and politics.

I'm going to go ahead and help you out with your thread title.

Star Wars does not need lead "strong" female characters.

No film or book needs "strong" female characters.

RE: Star Wars does not need lead "strong" females characters
Star Wars is a property owned by Disney. Disney is actively promoting the SJW agenda. For example, ABC, which is owned by Disney, broadcasts Modern Family. And ABC Family, another Disney property, broadcasts The Fosters, about an interracial lesbian couple who are also foster parents.

Disney World caters to the gays by hosting gay events because they are willing to spend their money so that they (and any kids they have custody over) can feel like a princess.

Now that Disney owns Star Wars, it's free to rework the formula. Never mind that the original Star Wars faithfully followed the blueprint of The Hero with a Thousand Faces and made a mint doing it. It's time to update it to the 21st Century, and get more women interested in it.

Hence, this ridiculous image prominently featuring a girl who would lose to Miley Cyrus in an arm wrestling contest doing her best Clint Eastwood impression.

If they're going to Left the movie, I won't watch it. I'll wait until they have a fan-cut of the movie where they remove as much shit from it as possible, like they did with Episode 1.

Looks like my mild Star Wars interest is circling the plughole. I'll probably still have enough curiosity to see it when it comes out, but sadly I know it's just modern crap and it'll never be 1977 again.

So it goes.

Dr Johnson rumbles with the RawGod. And lives to regret it.
