This is usually how it goes for people like this. He'll end up in rehab and or get involved in a church or religion in an attempt to clean up his image and life.

Wouldn't of even thought that was a photo of Tiger without the context provided for me.

You could have told me that of was a mugshot of the Manchester bomber, and I would have believed it.

I don't think this is right. Most of Tiger's fans were white.

Are there a lot of inner city golf fans? All golf fans are white.

Mix that with the fact that Big Golf didn't like Nike urbanizing their sport, and we see Tiger we see today.

My favorite golfer, John Daly, has probably banged more gutter spanks then Tiger ever dreamed of. He's probably getting a DUI right this minute.

But guess what, right now if you google John Daly DUI, it just gives you Tiger Woods news.

They gave Tiger just enough rope to hang himself.

JD is the man, his biography was one of the most entertaining things I've ever read. What a legend - no matter what has happened to him, he won a PGA and a British Open.

He actually completed his comeback story and won on the Senior Tour recently - and got a shout out from the Prez:

Also good to see you are kicking some ass on the course Kona!! What has been your biggest improvement since you started playing more seriously, straight drives? Surgical putting? General fuck-up avoidance and eliminating triples? Tell us your secret to success!

Tiger should have made a rule for himself that if he was too drunk to do that trick where he bounces a golf ball on a wedge then he was too drunk to drive.

Shame to hear about the racist golfers. Is the anti-Tiger conspiracy a white thing or is it a (((white))) thing?

Ironic that such a great golfer as Tiger would be caught without a driver

Kona, you're talking out of your fucking ass.

A) Not everything is about "race"

B) Tiger saved the fucking PGA. The ratings were through the roof in every tournament he played in, and in the gutter when he didn't play. He paved the way for all the big young names today. Did it piss the good 'ol boys off at Augusta that there was a black kid dominating their course? Sure it did. But the number of men who belong to that club is so insignificant compared to the hundreds of thousands of WHITE people who tuned in and showed up to every single tournament that Tiger was in, and bought god knows who many of products, and followed his every move on TV...

I wish him the best, and he's one athlete I'd love to whack a couple back with.

I think that's the "red pill" I'm talking about.

The ratings were high, but a black man beating all the good old boys at their own game got to the higher ups.

The guy is the greatest golfer in human history, but all hes gonna be remembered for is being "cablasian" and bullshit with his wife.

...

I just wonder. Do people who can't really play and explore and mess around when they are young, people who have been forced to grow up too soon, do they end up seeking a kind of childhood, or make up for lost high school years for the rest of their lives?

The cliche is that parents often hide a desire to live through the kid behind publicly asserting that they're just "making sure the kid maximises his potential." And you have correctly identified one of the major downsides of this ubermensch approach to parenting.

My feeling is that when you push a kid to build his sense of worth around a single thing, something physical that he does which other people like to watch him doing, you remove many of the building blocks of the kid's personality. You set the kid up for narcissism, because the kid then makes his entire identity about that skill and nothing else. I suspect having a gifted kid is a lot more difficult than people think, because not only does the kid have to cope with being mindblowingly better than anyone else around him at a particular skill, but the parent has to successfully walk the balance between supporting the kid and making sure he doesn't throw all his personality down the fame hole.

I see much the same thing you do from a fair tranche of sports stars across disciplines in Australia. Swimming seems to be rife with it: in Australia, Kieren Perkins, Grant Hackett are two of the more well-known examples, guys who get to the end of their swimming careers when they're still "fit" around 30 or so but then crave the highs, the attention, and more importantly, the identity as a powerful swimmer. The sport hooks kids in from an early age, requires extreme commitment to get to the top, and you're done at a relatively early age as well ... even if your body is still in perfect shape and you aren't suffering physical breakdowns, a 36 year old swimmer simply cannot compete against a 26 year old.

Tiger Woods is a male case of those fucking sad cases of kids who compete in kids' dance competitions or child pageants. No difference. His father pushed him and trained him almost from infancy in golf. (Side note: the father's pathology is interesting. John T Reed points out that Tiger famously learned to play golf from his father. Where did his father get all that time to train him to a decent level in golf? From being a career Army officer; there's a shitload of golf courses on US Army bases, and career Army types like to make copious use of them.) It seems to me that he's been basically told -- or has internalised, which is worse -- that unless he is the #1 in golf, unless he is a successful golfer, he is a worthless individual. Or worse still, he is not an individual at all.

As for Tiger's overall pathology and what he's going through now, well, TLP has the breakdown again:

http://thelastpsychiatrist.com/2009/12/i...art_1.html

Quote:Question: why would any of these women sleep with Tiger Woods?

"Well, because he's TigerWoods. Maybe they do it for the story, for their ego; maybe they do it because they think he might give them gifts or money; maybe they think he might marry them..."

So it couldn't possibly be because they like him? That had they not known about his fame and money, they still would have gone to bed with him?

"Of course not. Not those girls."

I see. Do you think he doesn't know that?

II.

Assume Tiger was not married. Describe the woman you think would love him "for him." For whom Tiger's fame and wealth plays no part at all, who would have loved him even if he was a shoe salesman. Which modeling agency would she have been with? Oh.

Would Elin Nordegren have married him if he was just Tiger Woods, not TigerWoods?

What do you think Tiger Woods thinks?

III.

Would these women have slept with him if he was half as rich and half as famous? How about 1/4? At what point would he have been insufficiently rich or famous for them?

Yet it is entirely safe to assume these women have slept with other men who were neither famous nor rich. So why did Tiger have to be TigerWoods to get them?

Do you think Tiger Woods doesn't wonder this?

Stop reading here. You should go get a glass of water. Take a nap, watch a music video, there's a catchy one I quite like by Akon/David Guetta. Come back when you've thought this through.

IV.

It may, or may not, be true that these women are golddiggers, "whores", or only interested in him because he is famous; but it is absolutely a fact that these women could be seduced by a man who isn't famous or rich.

The reason this is absolutely, incontrovertibly a fact is that these women are human beings. They have the same general needs-- love, lust, attractions, loneliness, childhood dramas... Different things make them happy, in different ways.

Tiger Woods does not seem to know this. He seems to think what every guy has at least once said: "she only wants a [adj] guy..."

Taken to the inevitable conclusion, Tiger Woods needed one billion dollars in order to think a woman would want him. In order to get those women, he [thought] had to be TigerWoods, not Tiger Woods.

This means that no matter who/how many women he sleeps with, he will never be satisfied, because he has tricked them. He wants them to like him, but he knows they only like TigerWoods. That would be okay if he was just after the sex, he'd have a one night stand and disappear; but instead, he tries to forge loose relationships that are based on him pretending to be his image. This always fails.

The question isn't how he could have cheated with ten women; the question is how he managed to keep it under 100.

Va.

"But if I say I'm a doctor, she'll want to sleep with me." No, that only works on patients.

Vb.

No, I'm not kidding. I'm not saying she has to be your patient...

VI.

"As a woman, what I want to know is why he would ruin what looks like a perfect marriage to a beautiful woman, he has two kids with her... why would he risk all that on cocktail waitresses, no matter how attractive they are?"

Oddly, no man ever asks this question. It's not because he knows the answer: he doesn't. "Well, if I was TigerWoods, I'd probably do the same thing." That's interesting, you didn't say you'd do the same, you said you'd do the same if you were TigerWoods. "No, I mean in the same situation as him." You mean the one in which you're a billionaire golfer married to a swimsuit model? Or do you mean if you were just a regular guy?

"But it wouldn't happen to me if I was a regular guy, it would only happen to someone like TigerWoods."

That is exactly what Tiger Woods thinks, too.

VII.

"I hate your cryptic, self-indulgent wanderings."

No one can be told what the Matrix is.

VIII.

A woman asks why a man risks his marriage because she's seeing it from the other side: what else could this nut want?

They think what he wants is something. What he wants is to be seen as something.

This is what every man and a certain kind of woman asked in 1998: "Bill Clinton was President, he could have had any woman he wanted, he chose Monica Lewinsky?" No, he had to become President to be able to get Monica. That's the size of the power differential that was necessary for him to feel relaxed and confident that a woman liked him. If he had tried to get someone like, say, Cameron Diaz (who was also famous at that time for doing nearly nothing) he would be thinking, "oh my God, this woman can totally see I'm a dweeb."

At some point in the relationship of TigerWoods and ElinNordegren he felt himself become Tiger Woods to her. It is irrelevant whether or not this was true for her; in his eyes, she was seeing Tiger Woods. Why would a swimsuit model with a likely prior history of adequate penises get horny over a guy with a flabby belly?

"Doesn't he love her anymore?" Of course he does. She doesn't love him, not like she used to. She doesn't lust for him.

"How do you know that?" I don't need to know it, Tiger thinks it. If it took one billion dollars to get her interested in him, how much is it going to take to keep her interested in him, at the same intensity? It's impossible.

"That's crazy. Who thinks like that?"

Tiger Woods. Et al.

That's the problem with living in an era of narcissism. Even if you aren't one, you're not sure about anyone else.

IX.

"The best thing he can do is go on Oprah, admit his mistakes, maybe go into therapy to try to figure out what makes him cheat..."

He was with several women multiple times over many years. He didn't make a mistake, he didn't stray, that's who he is. You don't get to say who you are, your behavior speaks for you.

Trying to understand why he "cheated" or "strayed" or "made mistakes" is bad faith. Those behaviors aren't deviations from his normal, those are his normal. You can't isolate a behavior and unhook it from the overall self. "I'm not a bad person, but I do cheat sometimes." No, you are a bad person. The behavior is your business, but you don't get to commandeer the language.

And that's where Woods was about 7-8 years ago. Tiger Woods is now 41, i.e. no longer able to claim he's a young adult. He's had to retire from golf, he's had four back surgeries, possibly an addiction to painkillers, and got half his shit taken out by a wife who hasn't got the decency to hit the Wall or take up with bikies or something or otherwise act out her regret over the breakup of the marriage. With that many narcissistic injuries it's completely unsurprising if his decisionmaking skills are a bit off.

Remissas, discite, vivet.
God save us from people who mean well. -storm

It's too bad that he was infected with a virus in Sydney 2000 and then a Collapsed Lung in Athens -- he could have given Thorpe a good run for his money. Yet he still won the 1500 in both Olympics.

Has he cleaned up his life? Last I heard he was off in rehab or something. What is a guy like that supposed to do when his abilities fade? You spend your teenaged years and your 20s swimming endless laps in the pool to train for the big distance events, lost in the solitude of your mind. What else in the world would a guy like that know besides swimming?

Shit is deeper than that. When you think about high performance athletes they have been doing intense workouts their whole lives. Then you think about how after an intense workout a normal person is flooded with endorphins and that translates to these high performace athletes being on a drug for 20+ years then all the sudden its taken away. When you look at it like that its easy to see how some athletes struggle with some form of addiction or work a job within their sport.

Attraction and passion are non-negotiable

Kona, you know I like and respect you, so please don't take this personally.

Tiger Woods is not the greatest golfer in human history. There are several that I believe were actually better golfers. Ben Hogan, Jack Nicklaus, Sam Snead and possibly Seve Ballesteros are the greatest in human history. Lee Trevino is an amazing story and my personal favorite.

Tiger, like Monty said, was and is an extraordinary talent- he basically saved the game for the modern generation. He will go down as a top 5 golfer of all time, and the greatest golfer of the last 20 years for sure. I grew up watching and cheering for him, like millions of others. His off the course issues later in life will be forgotten. His playing ability and swagger will live forever.

If you don't think white people love Tiger, just ask the people who keep the books at all the courses that were built or updated in the last 20 years in Dallas. Golf is failing without a dynamic winner like Tiger.

I am not trying to start an argument, I just believe that any man who has class and respect for the game is welcome in the modern era with any group. Inviting women to an all male group was a much bigger issue.

Tee it high and let it fly,

GA

^^^ Well whoever the best may be is similar to a Tyson/Ali argument. And according to Tiger himself, John Daly is way better: http://ftw.usatoday.com/2017/05/john-dal...ds-success

My opinion is that they built him up, then they tore him down.

Tiger's childhood is no different from a lot of other pro athletes, but it was so much more publicized. His situation with whole lots of women is no different than lots of other pro athletes. Do you think Arnold Palmer and Sam Snead banged tons of on the road groupies, hell yeah they did.

The difference with Tiger is that he was the first black man dominating the establishments game, and eventually that had end. And since he was black, the microscope was on him ten fold.

They shot them selves in the foot.

And I like you too! Much respect.

Haha what an asshole, i always hated him; he made his fortune by hitting a ball towards a hole, he was never a man to derive any inspiration from.

But this scene, classic.

RE: Tiger Woods has 'nothing to look forward to'
I've been playing and watching golf since I was a kid. I was never a Tiger fanboy, but appreciated what he did for the game and didn't dislike him. The majority of golf fans (white people) and my golf friends (again, white people) love Tiger. Some snowflakes will take any criticism of him as racism, but I'll list some of the reasons that I've heard from people that don't like him (all before his downfall):

1) His behavior on the course. He used to pout, swear and toss clubs. A young Tiger was similar to a young Sidney Crosby. Any golfer that acts like this will face criticism, but his behavior was magnified because of his greatness. I don't really give a shit, but a lot of golf fans don't like this kind of stuff.

2) He wasn't very friendly towards the fans. I never cared about getting an autograph or interacting with the players, but many golf fans do. I understand Tiger's intensity is what made him so great.

3) The greatest players in any sport will always have haters.

Tiger is also not undoubtedly the greatest player of all time. This is something casual fans say. He's one of the greatest, and a case can be made that he's the greatest, but there are a few other players that can claim that title (Nicklaus, Jones, etc.)

The whole thing about the golfing community not wanting blacks and other minorities playing is also nonsense. The PGA has programs in place to get more blacks and other minorities playing, and whenever I've been on a course minorities were welcomed and treated like everyone else.

Omg some people weren't nice to you on a course, so there must be an anti-minority agenda. I guess that black guy talking shit during basketball had an anti-white agenda /s.

Tiger also had 2 not very succesful lasik eye surgeries, which could also have contributed to his demise.

Not so widely known is the fact that in May 2007, USA Today quoted Tiger Woods as saying, "My vision started slipping". The article states that Tiger had a re-operation after the 2007 Masters tournament. Golf.com also reported "Woods has second laser eye surgery".

I thought his physical decline started when he injured himself hanging out with the Navy SEALs? According to the article I read, he used to invite himself along on SEAL training outings in Southern California, including long marches and tactical house-clearing training. Because of his status and public profile, the SEALs didn't feel like they could say no to him, but they didn't really like him hanging around that much.

I recommend his father's book as a cautionary tale, Tiger's upbringing fucked him up.

Helicopter parenting can work but that kind of upbringin leads to burn out. Anyway, it must be really embarrassing to be considered Tiger's ex wife.

Probably just clickbait, but still hilarious.

His new girlfriend:

(Why did I have to post a picture? Looks just like all the others.)

There are no rules, no measurements, there is no ceiling in fashion. I listen to my gut and trust my experience and never want to stop pushing the envelope or growing. Fear can’t exist.

She's got a kid from a football player ex.

Her only claim to fame till now is that she was stopped in an airport because she had 200,000 dollars in cash on her, and told the police her boyfriend gave it to her.

But that's not what's funny. What's funny is that when she heard the news she was in Texas, doing what?

You guessed it, shopping.

[Image: 40ECA3D700000578-4553776-Smith_is_a_pers...042358.jpg]

And as soon as she heard the news, she made a massive scene in the store, running around saying, "I knew it, I knew it."

Tongue in cheek, the Daily Mail dryly lays it out:

Quote:The stylist, who has been dating Woods for a little over a year, then broke down in tears according to her fellow shoppers.
Smith did not let the news distract her from the task at hand however, as she then went about purchasing $5,000 worth of clothes before exiting the store.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-...rrest.html

The only thing positive I could find about this woman, was that she was very tight lipped about her relationship, which made me think she was showing a little consideration for our man Tiger.

That is until I read this quote:

Quote:Smith has remained remarkably tight-lipped about her relationship with Woods, telling D Magazine in an interview this past March: ''I'm happy in my personal life; it's really full. But I think if I shared it, I'd be damned if I did, damned if I didn't. I don't want it to define me.'

Of course, none of the obvious questions will be put to her, like if you knew it, why didn't you get him help ages ago? Why do you you think your relationship to Tiger shouldn't define you? If you were so worried about keeping things mum, why did you have a meltdown in public and make it all about you? And, what is up with the shopping therapy? Did you want to look good when you selflessly dropped everything to rush to his side?

I am now thinking that the impaired driving wasn't the cry for help, it was the girlfriend.

Why is it embarrassing to be Tigers ex wife? I dont get how women are ashamed of having cheating alpha husband. A super alpha is going to cheat.

I had no idea Tigers ex wife was such a man jaw. Would not marry.

All you gotta do is ask them questions and listen to what they have to say and shit.
