Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan
I may be traveling to Uzbekistan and Kygyzstan in the fall for 2 to 3 weeks. I am looking for advice on how to game when one is abroad in a country when one does not speak the language and has no realistic opportunity to learn anything beyond the most basic phrases before going, as well as have no idea what the local culture is like in regards to game.

From what little I have read so far, Uzbekistan is a police state, and a somewhat nasty one at that. Kygyzstan is apparently a bit more mellow. As well, it's just a tough part of the world - I'm not willing to risk violent encounters - if that makes gaming impossible, so be it. I'm not expecting any info sheets or anything - this is a pretty obscure place of the world - though I would love advice on how to create an info sheet for the rest of you. Ultimately, I'm just wondering if there are general principles that I should follow as a stranger in what I expect to be a very strange land.

First qualification - there is a reason I call myself Beta_Plus. I understand and fully accept the teachings of Roosh, Roissy, Mystery, et al. I comprehend them intellectually. Unfortunately, due to a professional life that has been erratic at best, I have never had the opportunity to put in the enormous practice necessary to internalize these lessons so that they become second nature. Basically, I screw up a lot and have not had the ability to put in the work to correct these mistakes.

Second qualification - I really won't know for sure if I will be going before about September 1st. So please don't give me grief if things fall through and I can't go.

I've been to one of the "stans" and am no expert. I did, however, spend the last 3 months digging up any intel on those countries while in the ME. My findings weren't good.

RE: Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan
I went to Uzbekistan for a week two years back. It was a police state. I was warned not to take the underground metro because of the police, but I did it anyway. Sure enough, the second time I used it, a police man somehow figured out I was a foreigner just by looking at me and asked me for my passport. I only had a xeroxed copy of it on me. I was detained in some room as he called my hotel, I guess to verify my xeroxed copy. It was unnerving. After an hour, I was released. Also, in the airport just before leaving the country, an officer brought me to another room where I was searched. He wanted to see if I was carrying too much money out of the country. They really dont know how to treat tourists there.

I didn't realize at the time, but there are a lot of semi pros in the clubs. After going to SEA, I learned better how to spot a freelancer. These girls look way better than the girls in SEA, in my opinion. Overall I was impressed with the high caliber of girls in Tashkent and there was very good variety too. Blondes, Asians, Turkish looking girls -- almost no blacks though. I did met one 1/2 black girl who was a hooker.

I think Tashkent might be a good place to pickup non-hookers too, but I'm not sure. I didn't have enough time there. I got some strong interest from some beautiful local girls. In one case, I think things went poorly once she learned I was only in town for a few days.

My buddy tried to bring a German tourist girl back to our hotel but was denied. Apparently this is common. He attempted a bride for $20 but was rejected. I think my friend's bride attempt wasn't executed properly. (I think he said he was acting nervous and/or irritated when attempting the bride).

Aside from the police and hotel staff, the people are very nice. I've never been treated so nicely by strangers. The people there are fascinated by foreigners. I meet random people in public who invited me for tea or dinner.

English isn't too common there, but dont let that stop you from going. There are enough English speakers there to make it worthwhile.

Uzbekistan is a strange land and I have an itch to go back to explore it more. I dont think you'll regret going there. One more thing -- the food is awesome.

Wow. I wasn't expecting that.

Make this trip happen. It sounds like it would be insane.

Good luck and make sure you break it down when you get back.

The food is like in Eastern Europe but with a touch of east Asia. Awesome salads, soups, and pastries. Very fresh and tasty. Be warned, if you aren't eating with a local, it's very common to be charged double as a foreigner. And it's hard to tell because many of the receipts are handwritten. These restaurants don't even have printers for making receipts. That's how backwards it is. Even at double the price, it's still pretty cheap.

RE: Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan
The day before I left on vacation we hired some new waitress. I was thinking, "Damn that's a cute little latin girl." Tonight I go into work and start talking to her, turns out she's from Uzbekistan. Total shocker! I could have swore on everything this girl was colombian or cuban. This chick is mad cute though, and very friendly, didn't really expect that from Uzbekistan. I didn't talk to her too long as we were both working. She basically told me it sucked in Uzbek unless you have lots of money, which is the case with just about anywhere other than Western Europe and the US.

Unfortunately we were talking about house music and I asked her if she had been to any of the more chill underground house spots. She said she hadn't been to any of the ones I'd named, but she likes going to LIV, which is one of the most exclusive and expensive clubs in Miami. That set off a ride light for me that she probably sucks.

Yeah, girls in Uzbekistan look great -- and in my opinion, they look better looking on average than the girls in the Latin American countries I've visited (Mexico, Peru, and even Argentina).

RE: Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan
I missed this thread, but thought I would chip in with my 2 cents should it come up in a search. I have been to Uzbekistan 4 times in the last 15 years or so, the most recent of which was about 3 years ago now. Longest stint was almost 8 weeks which was the last trip, but the other trips were 2-3 weeks tops.

Its hardcore FSU, so yes, cops and officials are a pain in the ass. This goes with the territory. I hate the bastards and have had problems with them all over Russia, the FSU and even EE. EE is a lot better now than it used to be, Russia is getting better, but in the FSU its best to be prepared. They dont want to make trouble, they just want to shake you down.

If you are using a photocopy of your passport because you dont want to carry your original around, keep the copy in your passport wallet along with hotel details, flight details, etc. At the same time, stick a few notes in the passport wallet in a not to obvious place. They will take the money 9 times out of 10 and you will walk away without any hassle. FFS dont offer them the money and dont offer them a bribe, just hand them your passport wallet and let them do their thing.

Most people who go to Uzbekistan will go to Tashkent. It really is a shit city, I wont lie. Its filthy and its very hot. Although architecture and culture seems to be Islamic and Islam is the dominant religion, its non practising for the most part, so there is not the hardcore element of conservatism you would see with most Muslim countries and states.

Nightlife is not great, but there is a bit on the go. I was surprised to see a lot of clubs given the state of the place and there are more opening as the economy improves. Bars were popping up more and more too, although its the typical FSU fluff. You need to make sure you can find a reliable taxi driver and have him on call, paying him more if need be to keep him around. Getting around after hours is a nightmare and taxis can be tough to get sometimes, and the last thing you want to be doing is wandering the streets late at night. So find yourself a decent one and look after him.

The women are good looking though. There are tons of 6's, 7's and 8's around. The people are a mix of Russian, Persian and Asian and the result of that is a 24 hour constant erection for me. Its a very unique look. You can actually see Asian features in many of the people, but at the same time you can see Caucasian features too. So basically asian/white, except darker skin tones! Throw into the mix that a lot have blue eyes and all of a sudden the shithole that is Tashkent becomes far more tolerable.

The problem is always language. English is improving, but without Russian you have your work cut out for you. Once again, if you dont speak Russian, you need to pipeline. Besides concentrating on English speaking women it will help you establish a social circle quickly too. You are going to need someone to show you around outside your taxi driver. I have been fortunate that every time I have gone I have had locals offer to take me out a few times while the rest of the time I was spending free time with women I was trying to bang or having my taxi driver take me somewhere we I could find women. You are going to have a shit time of it unless you have locals helping you out.

Foreign status WILL be an advantage. They see very few western tourists and being the crappy place that it is the passport hunting is a national passtime. A lot of the so called "Russian hookers" you will see in places like Thailand, Qatar and Dubai are actually Uzbek. I can see them a mile away sometimes, but much like the Ukrainians these women whore it up all over the world. This is driven by how dire the situation is in Uzbekistan, but also because Russia is not an option for them. When people talk about racism in Russia, its primarily the Georgians, Armenians and people from the Stans who are the targets of it.

Accommodation is not great and I have always stayed in hotels, so dont know what the deal with apartments would be. I almost always use hotels given visa issues in these sorts of places. I have never found it expensive either, at least not compared to the rest of the region.

Honestly, I see no real reason to be going unless you already have extensive travel experience in Russia and the FSU. I would not go back unless it was for work. That goes for all the 'Stans really. There are better options travel wise. Belarus and Moldova if you want to dip your toes, then maybe Georgia and Armenia. It is off the beaten track though, the women are hot and you will have an advantage being foreign.

Borat is from Kazakhstan. I've been there and guys said they will kill the actor who portrayed him if he ever sets foot in Kazakhstan. The movie was banned there.

Lol, yes. As someone who has spent a great deal of time in nightlife: that always means she sucks hahaha.
