Miami the energy is so high, if you aren't social like a salesman you will flounder.
Knowing the different areas and finding one that fits your personality is the key. Not something easy to do on a short visit. For instance, I didn't mention Miami Springs. Here you have a solid middle class with some upper middle class areas. The whole city can be walked and has a nice circle in the center with Rotary signs and signs for the next weekend city wide bbq. There is no charge to park on the street (impossible in most other areas). Its unassuming and approachable. At the starbucks you have the some of same hot girls from miami but not dressing to kill, just dressing to look good. If you are not a clown or a baller and your game is more laid back you come somewhere like this.

Agreed. For me, South Beach is the best, then Coral Gables, then probably somewhere up in Broward like Hollywood. I never liked Brickell that much, but I like Coral Gables a lot.

As a native Miamian (born at Mercy hospital in the Grove) that grew up in Atl then went back for college (UM) I have a lifelong love /hate relationship with Miami. I have lot of family still there, I own property there, and usually visit 3-6 times a year (I live in beach town in SoCal now)

You're right. Miami seems to have a uniquely present contingent of visible idiocy not found anywhere else. One only has to go for a drive on the freeway to experience it. It's also seems to be the New Scam Capital of the World.

That said I doubt you're going to find many highly educated intellectuals anywhere in the world serving coffee or teaching Zumba.

Borrowing OP's "layer" concept you need to break down the Cuban population further to get, what I believe he was alluding to.

The Cubans who initially emigrated to Miami in the very late 50's and early 60's during Castro's revolution were the mostly highly educated, wealthy elite of Cuba at that time. The were the were the most to lose with regime change. And they are still very influential today (Marco Rubio is a high profile example). The direct descendants, (myself included I'm 1st generation) of that first wave of Cuban immigrants tend to be highly educated, ambitious, industrious and for the most part very conservative (It once took me over 6 mos of chaperoned dates to bang an 18 yo Cuban chick when I was 19/20. And she seriously expected me to marry her because I had popped her cherry)

Another extreme "layer" of Cuban immigrants consists largely of the wave that came in 1980 when Castro opened exodus as an opportunity to stick it to the US by cleaning out his prisons and psych wards (as portrayed in the movie Scarface). This had a lasting effect on Miami that in many ways can still be seen today

Aside from the hyper-superficial looks / money aspect I would argue that Miami is more intensely about social circle than most other places. That is why it's harder for outsiders to game there....or get past the "surface"

Like I said I love and hate Miami. It's a uniquely wonderful and simultaneously fucked up place.

As a native Miamian I can vouch for the accuracy of OP's post. Great data sheet.

Miami is a long term move. You have to get used to the city first before forming an accurate opinion.

As for the idioicy of the local populace, there are a lot of idiots here but in recent years there's a huge influx of professional people.

Miami has one of the nation's hottest start up scences. http://www.cnbc.com/2015/05/01/5-things-...scene.html

There's a huge influx of entrepreneurs that are moving because of the envivornment created by the tech scene.

As for the immigrants, we have a huge mix but Miami seems to get the most educated Latin American immigrants. The latin american immigrant in Miami is a lot different than the one you get in L.A.

RE: Miami Florida - an updated data sheet
Bad things about South Beach and Miami in general:
White and black prostitutes from landlocked shitholes, nowhere near Miami, bothering the hell out of me on the street and in bars like the W Hotel bar (only a problem in South Beach)
People trying to sell me drugs on the street (again, only in South Beach)
Higher prices for almost everything, especially in South Beach
Tourists constantly taking pictures (mostly South Beach)

Good things about South Beach and Miami in general:
Basically everything else.

I don't get the guys who keep saying how dumb Miami people are. Spend a week in the D.C. area and tell me this place isn't full of high functioning retards with some exceptions.

RE: Miami Florida - an updated data sheet
You can find these retards in most American cities these days. I always hear about how cultured and sophisticated cities in the Northeast are but some of the most provincially minded, obnoxious people live in places like Boston, Philly, NYC etc. Then you have places like Seattle or San Francisco where the general population is pretty highly educated but have the reputation of being cold and standoffish with socially awkward people wallowing in depressing leftism. So pick your poison, no place is perfect. Plus, despite its superficial nature, it's still better and more real than LA. LA takes the cake for superficiality. Miami has better looking women, much nicer beaches and a real Latin American vibe where LA is ground zero for American trash culture.

Great stuff.

like what happened because Cuba which went to Communism, now we are getting the best of Venezuela as well, as that country falls apart the people with values, productivity, and a desire to see their children in a better place come here too.

There are dumb-asses everywhere and I don't believe for a second that LA or Gainesville or Dallas has "overall" more intellect.

Also with respect to Boca, are we talking about the restaurants in downtown Boca near the beach? Where to the Brazilians hang out? That I would def like to know.
Downtown is ok there are a couple of big outdoorsy shopping and restaurant areas, the beach has a better vibe.

The Brazilians are in Pompano Beach, Coconut Creek, West Boca, etc. Just google Brazilian grocery or Picanha and usually those strip shopping centers will have other Brazilian places next door. It all starts with the food.

I'm curious though, do you have any specifics on Hialeah? I absolutely love the thought of hanging out in Doral and Hialeah, but I've never really known where to go in either of those places, except the Hooters (where Doral's was rated the best Hooters girls in the world, for obvious reasons). Every time I meet someone from Hialeah I always ask them where there is to hang out or go to in Hialeah, but no one ever has any info. It's like a secret or something. There's gotta be some day or night places there to game!

Every time we game in a starbucks in anytown usa there is always the risk some clown who saw a couple of mystery episodes was just there and has made the work harder. Hialeah is the most untouched virgin territory for game in the USA. Where to hang out? Gyms and crossfit places, Amelia Earhart Park which is full of hot mountain bike chicks, and small hole in the wall restaurants and bars. You have to drive around and get the vibe on a particular day or night. Same goes for Doral but there you have big name bar and grill places which are packed. Dolphin mall area.

I usually wear a blazer when I go out. People in South Beach and downtown look the part when they go out to clubs and hotel bars.

If you go to the beach than it can be a different story.

Like others have said it can get really humid in hot during the summer.

You'll find a lot more locals in downtown vs south beach. Brickell is an area in downtown that has some data sheets on the forum if you do a search for it.

I have to respond to the bolded part. You may not realize what a home run you have hit. You have explained not only Seattle and San Francisco but large parts of the so called civilized west. This is a general malaise all throughout the advanced western nations. You want smart people? This is the price you often have to pay and for me it's too steep a price.

Now I must apologize because I didn't mean to hijack. I've never been outside of North America (I include Mexico here) so I don't have the worldwide pull and experience many of you have. However I am well traveled in the US, and IQ wise I find South Florida as close to the bottom that you can get. I also find driving in South Florida nothing short of terrifying. Give me a freeway anywhere in LA or the Dan Ryan in Chicago in rush hour anytime. At least I know that aggressiveness is the rule and I can depend on most drivers to have some skill and reflexes. Still you may find me anywhere between Ft. Lauderdale and Key West. I like to visit and at this point in my life I don't have to worry about game.

I'd like to visit Miami sometime this year. I'm thinking about taking the train (Amtrak) down from NYC - spending a little extra to get a private sleeping compartment. I have a friend there who will be out of town for a few months and may be willing to rent me his condo.

So what's a decent place for a 35 year old tall white boy with a beard to get laid?
