Swedish handball team captain banned from wearing rainbow armband
To be honest, these things aren't even surprising anymore; Sweden is a joke of a country and has long been digging it's own grave. Anyways, it's latest SJW incident, involves Tobias Karlsson, the captain of its national handball team. The current European men's handball championship is being hosted in conservative Poland, where gay marriage is not legal. Not only he tried to make a statement by wearing a rainbow armband (instead of his country's colours) but he also commented on how sexist are the tournament's cheerleaders. Here's the whole story covered in two different articles:

Quote:Sweden captain banned from wearing rainbow armband by handball body
• European Handball Federation introduces rule to stop Sweden captain
• ‘It is sad they do not allow us to express our feelings about humanity’

The European Handball Federation has introduced a rule which makes it impossible for the Sweden captain to wear a rainbow-coloured armband at the European Championship, which starts in Poland on Friday. Poland refuses to recognise same-sex marriages and Tobias Karlsson announced last week that he was intending to wear the armband “as a quiet manifestation for acceptance and that every person is of equal worth”.

However, on the eve of the tournament the Sweden team have been told that a new rule means the captain’s armband can from now on consist only of that country’s colours.

“I think it is a real shame,” Karlsson told the Swedish paper Aftonbladet after being told of the news. “It is sad that the EHF chooses that path and does not allow us to express our feelings about humanity and how I think people should be treated.

“I have to say I am surprised. We were told only a few days ago that it was OK to wear the armband. Norway’s and Iceland’s captains have been in touch about also wearing one so we sent a few to them.”

The vice-president of the EHF, the Swede Arne Elovsson, was not part of making the decision to introduce the rule but said afterwards: “My interpretation is that this question has never been raised before. Now that it was raised one had to make a decision and go back to the rules and try to interpret them from a global perspective. That is the explanation. There is logic in this and they were unanimous in their decision.”

The Law and Justice Party, which is opposed to LGBT rights, won the election in Poland in October last year and the country offers no recognition of same-sex relationships and has refused to recognise trans people.

Karlsson added: “I am not quite sure what we will use now. The two other armbands we have are red-and-white and black.”

Sweden play their first game on Saturday, against Slovenia.

Cheerleading article:

Quote:Handball Captain’s Cheerleader Comments Cause A Stir

Swedish handball captain Tobias Karlsson has hit the headlines again following comments about the half-time entertainment at Wroclaw's Hala Stulecia during the European Championships.
The captain hit out at the use of cheerleaders during the breaks, stating his belief that the act of cheerleading objectifies women. "What year is this? There are many better things you can do in the intervals of matches", Karlsson wrote on social media.
Cheerleaders Wroclaw, who are currently performing at Hala Stulecia during the championships, then politely brushed off Karlsson's comments via their Facebook page:
"We welcome the interest and concern of the Swedish players, but cheerleading is primarily a dance show and cheering!
We cheer POLAND while in Wroclaw's Hala Stulecia and we cheer each team playing here and we have fun together with a great audience!"

Karlsson had also made headlines just a few days before when he expressed his frustration about being prevented from wearing a captain's armband with a rainbow colourscheme. The European Handball Federation blocked Karlsson's plans, which were in his own words, intended "as a quiet manifestation for the acceptance that every person is of equal worth".
While many people will understand and indeed support Karlsson's gesture and his desire for equality, his crucade against cheerleading could be considered a step too far – even for rather liberal observers

WB of course, and would not cry that they are being oppressed or whatever.

They had be once vikings...

We will stand tall in the sunshine
With the truth upon our side
And if we have to go alone
We'll go alone with pride

For us, these conflicts can be resolved by appeal to the deeply ingrained higher principle embodied in the law, that individuals have the right (within defined limits) to choose how to live. But this Western notion of individualism and tolerance is by no means a conception in all cultures. - Theodore Dalrymple

No. The Vikings of old went abroad and left the chaff behind. They left for Russia, France, Britain, Southern Italy, Antioch, and Greenland, pillaging while simultaneously building new nations as they went. The final threads of alpha male genes that remained in Sweden after the great migration in the Medieval era decided to cut their losses during the industrial revolution and moved to Minnesota and the Dakotas where you can find them on oil fields, ranches, and lumber yards to this day.

Another reason why I give Poland my money by living here instead of Sweden.

"It is the current year" is quickly becoming one of my favourite trolling counters, because there's only one type of person who uses the current year as an argument. And it's always a joke.

RE: Swedish handball team captain banned from wearing rainbow armband
So they are making him wear colors that represent national pride for his country?

No way....

If I was the president, prime minister, leader, cuckmaster of Sweden I would kick him off the team that represents the country that he was raised in and pays for his salary, uniform, hotel, plane ticket, and the ability to play a game for a living.

In the end it really is sad when Poland cares more about Sweden than a lot of Swedish people.

Yeah, that's the honest truth, Scandinavia has been subject to the most massive expatriations of all time going back thousands of years.

Goths, Vandals, Cimbrians - ancient people who sacked their way through literally the entire antique world.

Vikings - founded Kiev and according to myth also Russia, founded Normandy (who later became Knights Templaer and very influential culture/power), founded Iceland, founded much of Northern England.

Swedes, Norwegians, Danes - emigrating by the tens of thousands to the US were their descendants are found in Minnesota, Iowa, Midwest.

Even today, the best ones leave. Scandinavians have always been pragmatical. They have always been quick to assimilate. Basically within one generation anywhere, at any time, from Norman to new American, you wouldn't guess they were ever Scandinavians.

This is their strength and weakness. I don't think Scandinavians ever thought they could compare culturally to Rome, Franks, Germans, Americans so they just accepted their host country and effortlessly became assimilated. Now they seem to expect others to do the same.

You guys are not being fair to the guy.

He's probably a newbie forum member trying to become neomasculine because wearing a rainbow armband is definitely manlier than playing handball.
