Now? Not so much. I'm just another dude with a beard, albeit in better shape than most of the hipster faggots who have one. Part of me is glad that the trend is losing steam though, and I can't wait until these effeminate dorks jump ship to the next trendy look. The less I have in common with them the better.

I had exactly the same experience. I can remember distinctly being the only guy pretty much on the gym floor with one and I would get eye fucked by girls just because of it or opened sometimes because of it at bars. Now 50% of the the gym floor is filled with bros with beards. You know it jumped the shark when the Jersey Shore guidos started wearing them. Oh well...it was good for a few years. I remember when I first started to see it become really saturated in 2015 I was thinking it might level off because other guys who were clean shaven for years surely would feel stupid growing a beard out when it was very trendy but the opposite happen and almost everyone was growing them out at a record rate in 2015 into 2016.

I still get complimented on my beard. It's a nice solid manly beard and it fits my personality. Beards get bashed because a lot of pussy soy boys have them but it's pretty easy to tell when a beard fits and when it doesn't. I'm sure the fags taking soy injections will get off the beards soon where I will continue.

Beard tip, instead of trimming it evenly with an electric razor, have your barber give it shape with scissors. This can give the illusion that your jaw is more square than it is, which is especially useful when your bulking and have a little pudge.

Shout out to YoungBlade for showing me how to cure beard dandruff, mine was really fucking bad. Basically just exfoliate with either sea salt or a scrub wash then add a moisturizer daily after the shower. No more flakes!

I've been growing it for 3 months or so, really happy so far with it, I see potential. How long did you guy left it grow before going to a barber to shape it?

Depends on what length looks best on your face, how sloppy/wild it is.

If you want it tightened up but not shaped too much just have the barber do minimal trimming just cutting off enough to clean it up. Have him clean up the edges on your cheek, sideburns and lower neck and the look will be cleaner.

RE: The Master Man Beard Thread
If you are new to having a beard, I would have a barber shape it up every week, unless you really trust your maintence skills. Many people make the mistake of cutting under the chin too much, and basically turning it into a chinstrap without even realising it. Once you are used to having a barber do it right and you are familiar with how it should look on you from your perspective in the mirror, cut back on the shape-ups and start doing more yourself.

Or if you have a kickass barber, fuck it shape up every week. Depends on youe style I suppose.

RE: The Master Man Beard Thread
I have a ritual now

I don't touch my face, only a legit barber does.

I do a hot towel express shave - seriously one of the best things on earth.

They line me up with an electric razor, add moisturizer and shaving cream, leave it on and immediately put a hot towel on me.

They then use a straight razor to clean up my cheeks and line me up, then they repeat this process all over again.

They do the same thing shaving the hair line on the back of my neck, they get the sides of my hair line on the front of my neck.

I don't get the bottom lined up because they don't line up the bottom, because it isn't visible.

Also get beard foam - use it right after the show before bed, make sure you get it deep into your roots, this helps with alleviating dandruff.

Shower in the morning, blow dry you beard, it'll have a more smoother and shinier look, along with being straighter.

This makes your beard longer and makes it look less bummish and pubish.

Bonus, blow drying your hair helps eliminate the chances of dandruff.

I don't use any beard oil or balm either.

Occasionally I'll wash my beard with tea tree oil shampoo and condition with tea tree conditioner, then wash out.

Once again, pussy juice always helps as well.

How do you achieve that pointy shape? Mine looks a bit too round. Last time I trimmed it, I ended up chopping the whole damn thing off.

Get a barber, explain what you want, and he'll shape the beard.

It's hard to tell what it's going to look like when you shape it your self, have a pro do it.

A large area between my sideburns and chin/mustache is completely shiny.

I probably grow a little unmatured hair but it's very thin and not even in my hair color (black) so it's completely invisible.

Over the years I have adjusted my style to go along with this but I'd rather have clean shaving as an option rather than necessity.

I've wondered if anyone has tried this too, always wanted a real beard and wondered if Minoxadil would jump start it. I've never been able to grow hair on my face for shit, and what does come out looks like hell in tiny whiskers.

I recommend using coal tar shampoo. Also make sure its 100% dry like the rest of your head and so on when you get out of the shower, also a good beard oil does great things.

RE: The Master Man Beard Thread
My beard is getting longer. Couple question for the pros:

Is there any real difference between using fancy beard oil and coconut oil? I sometimes put some on before bed, and wash it out in the morning. But is beard oil for wearing out and about? Is there any difference? I'd rather avoid paying for overpriced vanity products, if it's not essential. But my beard is getting wiry.

My beard is looking good, but I'm getting increased feedback (from the young chicks I'm creeping on) that I look older. How do you boys deal with this psychologically and/or practically?

I just finally had a barber trim up my mane a few weeks ago (hadn't had it trimmed in about 8 months before that.) He had a pretty nice well kempt beard and asked me if I was using beard oil or wax and I told him no I just put some coconut oil in it everyday. He said that was good sometimes but it was more for the skin and keeping it moisturized. That beard oils and wax are better to fight having a unruly looking beard. He also said combing and brushing it daily was a must.

I may have mentioned it on here earlier but months ago I opened a solid 8 in the gym (he had gainz, a shaved head, and a YUGE beard) even though he was a 8 he was still a WNB (he was a dude after all) An he also told me you gotta put wax in it everyday to keep it from looking wiry.

As far as the age thing..... fuck'em... right in the pussy

Going to chime in and re-iterate that if you're new, get to a barber.

I've been trying for a solid year to really grow it, always ends up looking pubey and ridiculous. Finally found a barber who really knew what he was talking about (hard to do in EE), and helped shape it properly to not look horrendous while really growing out. I've been following his guidelines and it's been a huge difference.

RE: The Master Man Beard Thread
I know a lot of guys are all about that coconut oil life, but I'd actually suggest trying pure jojoba oil. That's what I use and it has a lot of interesting benefits, not to mention the fact that a large bottle is substantially cheaper than beard oil. Some jojoba oil benefits: http://thejojobaoil.com/

Quote:So why jojoba oil?

1. High similarity to sebum

What makes it so unique compared to other seed oils is that jojoba oil is structurally and chemically very similar to the human sebum. This is because sebum is also largely comprised of wax mono esters, the primary constituent of jojoba oil. In most cases, it can act as a substitute while giving similar or added benefits compared to sebum. This property will be discussed further throughout the site.

2. Extremely safe to use

Jojoba oil is non-toxic, non-comedogenic and non-allergenic. This means that it will not clog pores and will not cause any allergic reactions. It is also not an irritant, so it can safely be used around the eyes and on the skin. In addition to that, it does not cause a greasy feeling when used on the skin like other oils do.

3. It has a high content of beneficial minerals and Vitamin E

It contains many different varieties of tocopherols which make up Vitamin E and many other natural minerals. Vitamin E is well known for promoting healthy and clear skin.

4. It prevents damage from free radicals

Jojoba oil is an antioxidant and protects you from the damaging effects of free radicals, which is believed to contribute or cause various chronic diseases and cancer.

5. It is antibacterial

Most bacteria including Staphylococcus aureus and the fungus Candida albicans cannot reproduce and die when they come into contact with jojoba oil. In fact, it is so antibacterial that it can be used as a fungicide to control mildew. Imagine how powerful that is?

As far as the beard making you look older, that's a valid concern for some guys, and it's one of the reasons why I lopped off my magnificent beast of a beard. As much as I liked it, I looked considerably older when I had a long beard. Based on the before-and-after response from women I think cutting it was probably a good move, especially since beards seem to have reached their saturation point and don't garner as much attention as they did a few years ago.

Lately I've been going with a short, neat beard. It still gives my face some character and a strong masculine look without making me look much older. I noticed Roosh is doing the same by going back to the short beard. As awesome as his was, I think cutting it was a good move because he looks more youthful now too. Obviously this all depends on the guy though and where he's at in the aging process. Some dudes still look better with big beards.

Picked up these "natural oils" from Amazon for only $16

Avocado, Jojoba, Almond

Mix all 3 with some coconut oil, put it in a little dropper and apply it daily to my beard.

Been over a month now and my beard feels so soft and just feels healthier.

Before this I was buying little 4oz marketed beard oils from companies like Honest Amish for about $13 each.
