RE: The Alex Jones thread
The internet censorship problem is bigger than just big tech. GAB was pressured to remove content by their domain registrar and they caved. Further down the line, ICANN is a private organization and isn't required to comply with free speech laws anywhere so they ultimately have the power to take down any domain/site they dislike as they are accountable to no-one.

The only hope for a free internet will be the coming blockchain based one, currently under major infrastrutural construction. If anyone is doing anything in this industry, they ought to make sure it's open, transparent and free.

InfoWars was an aptly coined name.

5.6 million people have subscribed to the Infowars newsletter in the last 48 hours and the Infowars App is now #1 on Android and IPhone in news category.

Only a question of time until Google and Apple ban the app from their app stores.

RE: The Alex Jones thread
If they legit ban all the Alt-Lite type content, then Gab and Bitchute might finally take off.

Careful what you wish for.

Daily Stormer does not have mass appeal, but Alex Jones does and Breitbart does.

If those are banned, then suddenly it's not "Infowars banned from Facebook" but "Infowars - a Gab exclusive". Infowars is a top 1000, US website according to Alexa. I'm not sure what that correlates to in traffic, but I'm fairly sure it's a significant number.

On my screen Infowars is now #1 under top chart and trending but it says it only has 50 thousand downloads. Just downloaded the app

RE: The Alex Jones thread
I just checked the apple app store on an iOS 9 and 10 device, don't see infowars listed in the charts. Are they hiding it now? (It looks like the app now requires iOS 11 so that might be why it's hidden, should still work on an older version though).

It's also missing from the trending searches list.

He's been banned from Disqus, nobody can comment on Infowars.com articles now.

Honestly I'm disappointed in AJ's reaction. The very #1 thing he needs to do is highlight that Infowars videos are now on real.video and BitChute, Paul Joseph Watson has tweeted about it but they need to PIN the link on their Twitters and repeat it every 6 hours or something. They're instead promoting the app which isn't something I'd use regularly, you can't download the audio can only watch the video livestream and doesn't have clips like the Youtube channel (I use a fan made app) also its only a matter of time before the app gets taken down anyway.

Alex's response to this emergency hasn't been stellar. His #1 priority is tell his fans what platforms to migrate to. He needs to get their attention while this issue is hot because in a week they're all going to forget and change their habits to not watching Infowars stuff. I'm sure he's stressed but he's really lacking focus right now.

If a guy like Alex doesn't have his shit together in this type of situation which is becoming so ridiculously common now it I'm a little deflated.

James Woods made a ton of tweets about Pizzagate! I don't even care one way or the other but if you're going to go that deep that you namedrop Pizzagate what exactly do you find distasteful about Alex Jones?

This is the trap conservatives always fall to where they're pressured to apologize for their fringe (Alex Jones is barely fringe anyway) even though they're considered as fringe and cuckoo as the people they're distancing themselves from. What the hell is James Woods trying to look respectable? He's in the same fucking tarpit as Alex Jones. If he doesn't personally like him fine but what controversial thing has Alex said that James Woods hasn't said that is within the same level of offending our morality police? Even Alex backed away from Pizzagate quickly and took down all the videos within the first few days. I'm all for James Woods talking about whatever he wants but its just rich he finds Alex Jones "distasteful"

Alex Jones has been in the game long enough, he has been around since before Youtube and Twitter and whatever else. For example, I still get his podcasts off random donation supported sites. He has fans that have been with him since the late 90s.

The dumping off Youtube really was more-so a critical blow to revenue as Youtube brought in lots of cash to the Infowars coffers. As far as for reach though he is fine, as He doesn't get a red cent if people find his content on other alternative platforms. Don't matter if only 80K people download his app as he still has the ability to monetize that. Alex Jones is a long in the tooth sales guy and hustler, his main goal is too likely focus shoring up revenues and returning the streams so he can then go on a (well publicized) attack.

AJ has to get some blame in this because maybe 2-3 years ago he started shifting to being obsessed with making viral videos. He fucked up with the Sandy Hook gaffe and has one or two other missteps since then in trying to make viral content. There is a part of him, personality wise, that is OCD about fame. He is one end is fighting for his survival but also likely has a massive hard-on from all the attention he is getting. Folks who have been with Alex Jones 10-15+ years as listeners know him like the back of his hand.

RE: The Alex Jones thread
Is Alex Jones really blaming the Chinese for this? Damn, that's the funniest thing I've read today.

Alex Jones isn't the guy at the end of the red pill stage, he's the guy at the start of the red pill stage.

He will never come flat out and tell you what he really means, he always dances around the topic and uses vague and unspecific language.

If people want to go further down the rabbit hole and figure out what he means by the term "globalist", they will have to look into other sources.

If people want to go further down the rabbit hole and figure out what he means by the term "deep state", they will have to look into other sources.

Alex Jones is the guy who gets the wheels turning in people's heads to go further down the rabbit hole.

I really never saw him as dangerous opposition, if anything he seems like he would be controlled opposition. But who knows.

In any case, the guy was against Bush Jr, was against Obama, and was pro Trump. So, even if he is controlled opposition, he's more of an ally than an enemy.

But at the same time, I can't feel to sorry for the guy when he calls out China for getting him banned. China does it's fair share of meddling in international affairs, just like every other big name country in the world does, but we all know damn well that China could give a rats ass about Alex Jones.

I understand Alex can't use specific terms when calling out the powers that be that get him banned, but damn dude, at least use your normal vague terminology such as "globalists" or "deep state" instead of pinning it on China.

So, how much will this matter for the Conservatives in the mid-terms? Did AJ have a significant effect on the outcome of the 2016 race?

RE: The Alex Jones thread
Anyone remember FBIAnon?

That's the one Anon I believe was telling the truth because almost everything that guy discussed was either correct or predicted correctly.

But why am I bringing him up? Because FBIAnon said that Alex Jones was regarded as a "useful idiot" by the intelligence community. That would mean he's in the category of "tolerated" opposition rather than "controlled" opposition....which is a VERY important distinction because it means that it's possible for Alex Jones to unwittingly cross a line he's not supposed to. I believe that's most likely what happened because he started becoming a target of more coordinated attacks, each escalating dramatically after he covered the use of crisis actors in school shootings, criticizing the European "refugee" agenda, and after he gave publicity to Pizzagate.

That's why he's being taken out now. He's crossed the line from "useful idiot" into "pest" by popularizing topics like Pizzagate that they don't want people looking into.

The last one in particular is significant. Anyone else notice how literally ANY discussion of the possibility of active pedophile rings among the elite results in a frenzied counter-reaction? It happened after "Pizzagate" (which they misattribute the origin of to Alex Jones) and the James Gunn firing also resulted in a furious all hands on deck reaction.

RE: The Alex Jones thread
I turned on CNN for shits and giggles.

They're saying "You have a right to free speech, but we have a right to tell you that you can't use our private platform".

Oh, you mean like a store owner telling gay couples that they are free to purchase any standardized wedding cake that's already for sale in that store, but that the store owners have a right to tell those same customers that they don't have to bake a customized gay cake for them?

I fail to see the difference between the gay cake issue that popped up a few years ago in the US and platforms telling Alex Jones that he can't use their platform.

Any legal experts want to explain that one to me, how the law views those two issues differently?

The problem with Google and all these other companies is that they work hand in hand with the gov't. Big Brother has access to all our shit through them. Google was funded by intelligence community grants. There will never be a senate hearing with Sergey because of this.

But thanks to the free market we have security minded products like VPNs, duckduckgo, hush mail and probably a bunch of other stuff I've never heard of.

But if you trust the gov't over the free market, I'd be happy to sell you my future social security check at a discount.

You want to know the only thing you can assume about a broken down old man? It's that he's a survivor.

It's just intellectually lazy among the (very) few real libertarians left.

They don't understand the formation of power and how these tech companies are turning into new governments.
