Girls who ask your age
Happens to me occasionally - I'm in my mid 30s but male friends have told me they'd guess I was in my late 20s if they didn't know me.

So I get drunk girls I'm gaming at nightclubs sometimes pressing me to tell them how old I am. Had one girl a few weeks ago play the "Me and my friend have a bet going about guessing how old you are..." (she was trying to pawn me off on her fat buddy.) Sometimes they just drop apropos of nothing "So how old are you?" during conversation - naturally if I did the same thing they'd likely get offended...Dodgy

I try to always give them shit for it one way or another. "Ah, very polite. Do you want my odometer reading also? Should I get you the Carfax?" They'll usually laugh at that, but sometimes can be...insistent.

So how do you handle that moving forward? Cave and tell the truth if they insist? Keep trying to be indirect? Huh

Flip the script on them - ask them how old they think you are.

Act offended if they say your age or older.

Respond with a smart ass remark like old enough to be your papi/daddy.

Let them do the guessing.

Hell even start gunning and asking for their age.

Ask if they're actually old enough/mature enough to hangout with you ?

Always put the shit test on them, have them qualify themselves, put them on the defensive.

If they guess low, roll with the age they guessed, who gives a shit, you didn't open your mouth, and they put a number on it.

Thanks for the links. The couple of times girls have guessed, they've never guessed my actual age or above. The closet one got was lowballed by about 2 years.

An interesting note about online game - I've noticed that some of the online girls I've met don't even know how old I am when I meet them! The topic of profiles will come up and she'll be like "Yeah I had a birthday the other day and my age rolled over to 27, and I know you're like...30 or something..." And they're off by about 6 years.

I don't lie about my age in my online profile. This has happened often enough that it seems that many of them aren't even looking/don't care if they like the pictures/profile. I get a decent amount of responses from girls who have their hard age limit at 30.

Or you're I'm the 8th guy they've met this week and they're getting confused.

RE: Girls who ask your age
Age never really comes up and I'm in my late 20's, it's all about how you're perceived, dress, and act.

I still feel like I'm in my early twenties, so I act like it, of course a bit more mature.

This. As long as your answer is playful and not just "I'm 30" you should be fine. Usually chicks won't ask personal questions if they aren't at least a little bit interested in you.

Even though night game is difficult in New England, one of its advantages vs online is that you can get a girl in front of you and maybe get her to be into you without those issues coming up, without having to face the decision whether to lie and notch your age down a few clicks, or have your opening messages bounced due to a filter (or like POF which doesn't even allow men to send messages if they're some arbitrary number of years older.)

I suspect that as time goes on, the sites are going to continue to constrain who men can message, to make them more friendly to women and eliminate "creeps." OKCupid quietly added a feature that allows you to only see matches who "match into" your age (i.e. you're within the range of ages they say they're considering) and I expect that, for men, this will eventually become the only option, and women whose range doesn't match to your age will become invisible.

For feminists who do online dating, I'm sure it's one of their most requested modifications. Which is the great dilemma of using online dating - these companies are, at their core, feminist operations by default. It would be interesting to find out how many non-fake female accounts OKC has banned for the user being gross, abusive, or violating the terms of service. My guess would be "asymptotically close to none."

I just respond back with "the same reason you won't say yours!", just to stick it to them. They immediately shut up afterwards.

I'm of the opinion that any type of game is preferable to online game. I know that a lot of guys on here are into online game so whatever works for you, works, and that's fine. I just know I do much better in person where I can use banter and flirting that comes across much better than online. It may also have to do with the fact that I'm super unphotogenic and suck at taking pictures. I also hate taking pictures of myself.

Keeping in line with the concept that you're not undesirable for being older, but she may be undesirable to you for being too young, I would question the "act offended" partand would suggest something like: "32? Thanks, but I just turned 28." This must be an honest thanks not a sarcastic thanks.

RE: Girls who ask your age
Without getting too deep into this, (40 btw),

The problem here isn't really age in this scenario.

If a chick *opens* you with how old are you, she's coming at your throat. Its 100% aggressive and hostile. Even if she says it in a playful tone.

That is very different than a chick having a good time after you open her, and then asks your age. That's a chick that is interested in you on some level, and how you handle the question both intellectually and emotionally can change how she feels about you.

So the age old response to the second scenario is
1) smirk and
2 say, "Guess"

That gets her in a defensive posture, and you play with the response.

The scenario where a chick comes out guns blazing, she's *using* you for a laugh.

Girls know the social rules, and asking that question is question.

Just asking the question is about undermining how you feel about yourself. If you're too young, or too old, she gets to sit in judgment and you get to feel self conscious.

Pure evil, looking innocent.

You can respond exactly the same, but not with the same mindset.

But a chick that comes at you like that, you can match her venom and cloak your dagger when you go for her heart.

I actually think using emotion in your game is crucial, but I think you need to be strategic.

I think you need to respond to her by making the same sort of veiled attack at her.

So if she looks 25, you say

What are you 31, I'm three years older than you.

If that is not an option,

What are you like 33% body fat? I'm 33+2

5'2"? 62 inches

145 lbs? 20% is..

That's if you go negative.

In this situation

Where's your friend?
*put your arm around her*
And walk over to wherever the friend is
"So your friend says you like older men, or is she the one"
"Don't we make a cute couple"

You get the basic idea.

The point is that you have to take her mean little bit of fun and change the dynamic so that you are driving the encounter the way you want it to go.

What they teach in the books is surface level game.

She says this, I say that.
I do this, she reacts in predetermined ways.

That's surface level game. Good enough for government work, but we have all seen how flowchart game can get you fucked up. Its good for beginners, but most don't realize that there is more beyond it.

Surface level game only gets you so far, but at some point you're going to have to use your senses and your feelings. Think of your emotions as thoughts that you have difficulty articulating, but YOU KNOW SOMETHING is there.

Just wanted to point that out

There's all the advice you'd need on how to answer your original question here, though as no one has commented on the "they'd likely get offended" I want to add that I've asked girl's age many times in many ways and I've never got an offended response to the question. It's fair game.

I used to play around with running Day Bang's GALNUC at night, which uses a direct "How old are you" type question as part of it. It didn't matter if I dropped it as a non sequitur on younger or older, I'd get an answer and move on.

These two in a row is my default response, and it has yet to let me down. As I approach my mid-30's I don't want age getting in the way, so if she thinks I'm 28...I'm 28. I'll sometimes add a year or two, especially for the (rare) girl who thinks 26 or younger. Gives them the fantasy they need.

Agreed 1000%.

This is no different from a man asking, "how much do you weigh?" or "what's your bra size?" - Except that women can get away with asking a question like that, most men can't.

In situations like this you double down.

It's important to interpret social queues and understand how you are being perceived before you play out these types of scenarios - and that type of deduction only comes with experience and high social awareness skill. If you don't know, you're probably not on that level. If her or her friends view you as a "creep", it's an uphill battle you'll most likely lose.

RE: Girls who ask your age
I base my response on actual physical contact, not electronic media. The age difference issue comes up 30-35% of the time with me and the difference is usually about 25 years (sometimes 30). If she asks in non-hostile tone she is usually interested (and it is a type of shit-test) as she is battling what she perceives as a social taboo (like being a slut). She wants to know it is ok and that she will not be judged and she probably does not want me to tell her because she wants to find it out on her own.

I take one of three avenues.

1) I ignore her request and focus on engaging her emotionally. I am playful. The two biggest problems for older guys with younger women (in my opinion) are that they are; A) not willing to take the risk; B) not playful. Bottom line is that she knows within the first 5 seconds if she is interested and she knows within the first 5 minutes if she is willing to have sex with you (that day or some other day). The issue becomes can you pick up on that and engage her on an emotional level.

2) If her question is not hostile, I engage by deflecting at the first line; smirk and say guess as been previously stated. If I am feeling the vibe, I might instead say, guess little girl. Depending on the tone of her response, I will come back with how old are you little girl in a playful tone and some type of body language indicating that I am interested. Depending on the tone and body language of her response to this, I will say something like, that is ok, I normally date girls who are younger than you; another favorite is to say we cannot be together anyways (and make up some reason to get her tingling). I will disqualify her and then position to get her to qualify herself to me. I will escalate to some basic physical contact and if she does not respond back positively, I will not tell her my age and potentially disqualify myself. I will tell her if she demonstrates a progressive increase in interest and asks a second time.

3) If she is hostile, keep your frame and remember that you are the one with value; neg her in a veiled manner to determine just how hostile. If she goes more Machiavellian, I usually give her the mental version of putting my hand on her face and turn her head. Personally my time is too valuable, unless for some reason I want to spar or really get her (sexually). Then I will do something involving others (females) as that one of her weaknesses. Her world is built on her relations with others, especially females. If she gives me more positive indicators, I can do a rinse of number 2 above.

Getting defensive or being dramatic will be like putting a noose around your neck. As you travel around the world you will notice that there is percentage of girls who are not interested in an older man no matter what as their social program is intense or they are weak. It varies by culture and by the perceived relative age difference.

Happened to me recently although the girl was pretty down from about an hour after I met her, felt like i could get away with just about anything. She harped on asking how old I was all night long and my reply didn't change much. I just said some ridiculous number she would have to be stupid to believe.

I always say something ridiculous to personal questions that have alterior motives (dis/qualification). If they persist i say "wow you really want to know x don't you. How about this, if you tell me [something personal about them] I'll tell you x"? Sometimes they agree sometimes they drop it, I never give them a straight answer though.

Agree and amplify

"how old are you?"

"92. Don't I look good for my age?"

Backfired on me one time. "That's just the kind of response I'd expect from a guy insecure about his age..."

I ejected at that point - I guess you won, miss. But what have you won?

RE: Girls who ask your age
Fucked up last Friday with a Dutch chick.

Her: How old are you?

Me: I am...(hesitated), no! you guess my age.

Her: Hummm...for you to say that, you are probably xx (4 years older than my real age)

I gave her a stand in between age, 2 years older than my real one.

Things went reasonably well afterwards, even maked out a little. She was with her sister, and bar was closing, as I return from the toilet, she says "Fuck, I can't do this, you are too old for me", I was in reality 9 years older, and 11 years in my little lie. She then brutally proceeds to say goodbye and a kiss in the cheek, leaving me empty handed. I just replied with a cold and lame "I am not that old of a man", but what else could I have done or said?

Lesson learned, onward will always take some years of my age when dealing with Western girls.

RE: Girls who ask your age
Had a night where me and some friends were out in another college town about 2 hours from where I go with a big bar scene a few weeks ago where I ended up making out with a girl who told me she was 21. I told her I was 22 since that was my age on my fake. Ends up when I went to pay for a drink she saw my motorcycle license for another state and she pulled it out because she wanted to see my picture on the license and she saw I was actually 18, she ended up being pretty chill about it because she was actually 24 lol

Shit...I am now two years older...the age I gave her on that night...

Never had such an issue after that night.

RE: Girls who ask your age
If you truly are gonna play her game, answer: "old enough to know better, young enough to not give a fuck"
That will get them thinking and perhaps smiling that you are clever.

Honestly, if you look in your mid to late 20s as you mentioned, sharing your true age should not be a deterrent. Most hot chics prefer older guys, and they may want to validate you aren't a peer. I had one girl in Atlanta tell me she would not have given me her # if I was closer to her age (I was 33 at the time, she was 24, thought I was 27)
