I think the main reason the book Fifty Shades of Grey was such a huge success, was AS someone already said here: cause the girl is OK looking.

If you put a Victoria Secrets model to play the lady, then girls won't see themselves as the main protagonist. Girls want to think they could be on that same position, what girl wouldn't love to date a Billionaire, Succesful MAN... that spanked them and OPENED their sexual desire BOX.

I see better looking girls within 15 mins walking down the streets of Australia.

She looks like the kind of average chicks you'd pick up at a bar on a crappy night out, or booty-call, not attractive enough to "ask out" on a date.
